  1. Thanks for your help. I'm still a bit unsure of how the steering wheel remote cable attaches into the JVC unit adapter as the adapter itself attaches into the unit and then into the BOSE loom, which in turn has a separate connector purely for steering wheel controls
  2. Hi guys, I've just bought a new head unit (JVC KW-AVX840) and I have all the relevant cables to hook it up to my BOSE system. On the BOSE USC loom I bought (ICT 29-674) there are 2 cables coming from one of the white connectors which go nowhere - 1 is black/white and the other blue/white. Q1. From reading other posts on here I think that I have to join the black/white cable to the black ground cable on the other white connector - is this correct? Q2. The blue/white cable is to be connected to the "Amp remote turn on from the new radio" - what does this mean? Q3. On the wiring that came with the head unit, there is a blue/yellow cable with a label marked "Steering wheel remote" - do I need this? I bought the JVC head-unit lead (29-00*) and attached it - does this extra cable need to attach onto here somehow? Q4. Does the head unit itself need a grounding cable or is the one I mentioned in Q1 sufficient? As a determined noob, I fancied trying to fit this myself before I have to admit defeat and pay for a professional installation!
  3. Thanks a lot mate, I'll give them a call and pick their brains. I just wasn't sure if I needed the inline booster, but since the output is 4V I didn;t think it would be necessary. I'll double check with them anyway. Thanks again! Baz
  4. Dan - love the look of the JVC unit you've got installed. After reading this thread I've decided to go for the JVC KW-AVX840 unit instead. I agree about the awkwardness of not having a knob to control volume, but I'll have steering wheel controls and a remote control to use to do that. I'm wanting a unit for CDs, ipod use/charging, with steering wheel control and with bluetooth connectivity through my car speakers (for phonecalls) I'm just wanting to check that I've got this all correct as to what I need to order... 1 x Head Unit - http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product ... -26929.htm 1 x 350Z Bose USC Loom - http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/steering ... 9-674.html 1 x Steering wheel adapter - http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/steering ... 9-004.html) 1 x Fascia panel -http://www.sextonsdirect.co.uk/facia_panel/autoleads/p~DFP-22-03.html Is this everything that I need?
  5. Thanks, I'll give that a try too!
  6. Would try that, but the cable doesn't have plugs on the ends. Both ends are just thicker/stiffened parts of cable with the metal strips revealed. I tried scratching off new ends but no luck. I'll try again before I spend £500 though!
  7. I tried zmanalex before but no joy. Nissan garage quoted about £500 as I need to order the whole unit and not just the cable! Have looked online without any luck too. Have even tried Nissan breakers yards but no luck there either. Thanks Husky, definitely worth a try I guess.
  8. Anyone know where I can get a ribbon cable which leads from the triple gauge cluster to the motor on the cubby lid? Managed to damage mine while replacing my gauges to UK ones! The cable reads "Sumitomo – Y AWM 20861 105C 60V VW-1 –F" Any help would be much appreciated!
  9. Hi guys, need some help regarding the ribbon cable which plugs into the small circuit board attached to the cubby (automatic lid). Was removing mine to send to Nurrish to have his setup installed but the attachment was awkward to get into and I've managed to rip the ribbon cable! Does anyone know a part number or anywhere to get a new one? Thanks in advance!
