  1. Hi guys Thinking now about getting some winter tyres sorted, have heard good things. Only issue is I'm not sure which to go for. Initial thought was to stick 2 on the rears (i know, i know, may not be a great idea to have different rubber on all 4 corners, especially in frost/snow, before everyone rants at me! ). On reflection it should probably be all 4, but havent got the c.£500-600 spare! Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers guys Rick
  2. Not sure mate! Didn't catch the number plate...it was pretty early so wasn't really awake enough! It was just after (from the direction your were heading - i.e. towards Moseley) the junction at the bottom of the dip with Yardley Wood Rd.
  3. Let you turn off wake green road in Moseley, Birmingham a week or so ago - mines Azure too...though not looking as well looked after as yours!
  4. Hi Wasso May have been me! MH05 *** - Standard Azure. Normally heading through Moseley to Solihull at that time of the morning!
  5. I'm desperate to find a decent garage in Birmingham (or nearby). Have been to Colliers Nissan in Brum once (allegedly a 'High Performance Centre') but the service was terrible and they tried to fleece me 400 quid for a new wing mirror which I managed to fix in 5 mintues! I've seen a few Zeds out and about in the area, hopefully someone has found a decent garage?!
  6. Colliers Nissan, Birmingham (in Acocks Green). Allegedly a specialist high performance centre...not convinced. Some tosser hit my wing mirror (when it was folded in!). Cracked mirror glass and electric mirror motor was no longer moving side to side. Only noticed it in the morning getting into my car on the way to work so had no time to check it properly. On the way home from work stopped in at Colliers. After waiting 30 mins for someone to 'look' at it was simply told I needed replacement mirror glass. Had inform the guy that the motor didn't work. After removing the mirror glass panel and prodding the underlying frame he then stated that it was 'f*cked' and I needed a whole new wing mirror. Quoted just shy of 400GBP all in. Unsurprisingly I didn't take them up on the offer. Had a look myself when I got home and after removing the mirror glass panel and wiggling the motor arm back into it's recess it was fixed! Rang the dealership in a less than happy mood and was told 'remind me next time and we'll do you a deal'! Emailed Nissan UK, they have called and said they have contacted the dealership owner who has since called me. Said he would speak to the guys involved and get back to me...that was 48 hours ago and haven't heard since. If anyone knows a decent Nissan Garage/specialist around Birmingham would love to know - not keen on going back to colliers!
  7. It's really not in great condition to be honest bud, slight scuffing from removing it plus the shift pattern on top looks knackered which is the main reason I changed it.
  8. Yeah, I'm well pleased with it. It's a fleabay special, it's from the US but including shipping was about 40GBP. I want to get something done to the dash and centre console now...quite fancy it yellow to match the gear knob. What do you reckon? Have seen a pic of Paul's in another thread and think it looks awesome http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w204 ... G_6223.jpg
  9. Ok, the following links are some pics of my new knob!
  10. Trying to attach the pics but they're coming up as invalid files. They're JPEGS sitting in my desktop Any suggestions?
  11. Bigger wrench and wreckless abandon have done the trick! Will get some pics up soon, I think it looks great...in spite of clarkies suggestions that it would look too 80s!
  12. cheers guys, I'll stop mincing around with it!
  13. Haha, bigger wrench it is then...and channeling of into good 'ol brute force!
  14. So basically - Man up and hit it harder?!?!?!
  15. Right, I'm having a beast trying to change the standard gear knob for a replacement I've bought (essentially a black pool ball with bright yellow gearing numbers - will get a pic up if I ever manage to get it in!). I've read up on lifting the gaitor/console and stabilising the shift lever with a wrench and then turning the standard knob anti-clockwise with another wrench. ( http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/z/project ... emoval.htm is where I found instructions and diagrams!) Can not get the thing to budge in the slightest! I've read some discussions on sites with people saying they've twisted it off by hand, I'm not getting anywhere with 2 wrenches! Any suggestions much appreciated!!
