  1. Thx Spatt, sorry I've taken so long in replying, I've been out of the country! I'll take a look at Customlightz, am thinking of doing it myself with a few mates, we'll see!
  2. Hiya, I have a black 05 Roadster, and i'm thinking of doing this mod, having done some research on a fair few forums, the gist of it is, popping the headlights apart, is tricky, a bit touchy feely, and getting them back together without water leaks,is also a problem. I have some guys who :)ay take it on, will keep you posted, if anyone else has successfully achieved this, please respond. If my car was not re sprayed black (2 grand) , I would not bother, but if I can do it, it will look very cool!
  3. Hi again, referring back to my topic of aftermarket headlights for my 2005 Roadster, I have now found another Forum, Canadian, where someone opened up his headlights, in an oven, and painted the shiny bits black, looks pretty cool too! I've emaild him, through the forum, and am awaiting a reply, as to what paint was used, etc,. This looks as though it would be a cost effective way to go, rather than look for R/H drive, to L/H drive conversions, from the States. If you have any input or knowledge in this direction, please answer this thread, Thanks!!
  4. Thanks for taking the time and effort to reply , Bullet Magnet!!
  5. Hello again, thanks for the reply,Reading some earlier comments on this subject, seemed to suggest that just a relatively simple adjustment might do the trick, for MOT purposes here in the UK, please correct me if i'm wrong, which I might well be!
  6. Iya Bulletagnet, thanks for the reply, this sounds quite technical, although I know a guy who could do this kind of thing! When you mention opening them, i'm guessing you mean actually opening them, and modifying certain parts inside, you will have t forgive my ignorance here, I've never attempted this kind of thing before!! If you have the time and patience, could you advise me on the specifics, ie, the shroud, and the cut off, i'm guessing they are to do with the beam alignment. Thanks for your time, I'll post up results when hopefully completed!
  7. Hiya, i'm thinking of buying some Spyder black HID headlights, from the US, costs around £250, another £120 to import. I think they would fit initially, but there is the question of converting the beam for R/H drive cars, ie the UK market, I have been reading various threads on the forum, and am still confused! I won,t order until I know someone has successfully achieved it!! Any thoughts?! Thanks.
  8. Thanks guys for your advice, i'll look into it more deeply now, they seem to be a hell of a price, mind you!! I plan to post a few pics of mine more or less finished, if it stops raining long enough to get a few decent pics!
  9. Hi there, a while since i've been on here now, has anyone upgraded the Zenon 2 headlight bulbs for something either whiter, or bluer and brighter?? Any information would be appreciated, thanks, (i've finally got my "19 wheels and spacers on!
  10. Thanks for all the advice and ideas, i've ordered an HEL kit for the braided lines, and have sourced a slave cylinder, should sort out the problem i hope!
  11. Hi there, i've owned my 2995 Z, with 48,000 miles on the clock for about 5 months now. I rather stupidly let my son drive it a while ago, he was revving the engine too hard, even reversing to turn around, and after about twenty mins hard driving, and another high revving reversing episode, the clutch got very hot, smelt hot and smoke was seen!! the clutch peddle was not returning, only bout halfway, i had to get my toes behind it to get back where it should normally be, but it did get us home. The next morning, after cooling down, it was behaving normally, and has done for quite a while now, until yesterday, a very hot day, i noticed the symtoms returning. I think i am losing some hydraulic pressure when it gets hot, maybe through a seal or two, hopefully slave cylinder! The clutch itself is not slipping, which i reckon is good news, i am wondering if any of you guys have experienced anything similar?? Any comments would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  12. Thanks rising power, i will look into both of your suggestions, you never know, i may find something i like that i can afford!
  13. Thanks for that Mike, i will do that! If i get stuck and cant find them, i' ll get back to you.
  14. Hiya, maybe i should clarify a little. Wheels UK go UPTO 60mm, i dont think i would use anything near to that, maybe 35-40mm tops for me. I completely agree on buying wheels that have an offset nearer to 25mm front and rear, but so far, these have been VERY expensive options. i have a lot more digging around to do, any more ideas from you's guys, as always, is greatly appreciated, Thanks, a true Z newbie!
  15. i can reply to my own posting here! www.ctd-germany.com do some nice ones, and also some ally roll-bar covers, not cheap mind you!!
  16. Thanks for all the replies guys, it makes interesting reading, it has all been taken into my tiny brain, where it will be re assessed in the cold light of day! Any more experiences regarding the Coventry UK Wheels crew would be appreciated, the Jury is out at the moment!! Thanks, Jon.
  17. Hello everyone, i've found a site, based in Coventry, who supply large spacers for the 350 Z, i'm just wondering if anyone else has come across them, and if so, has actually used there spacers. For the 350Z, they can do hubcentric spacers upto 60mm per hub!! If they check out, it's the answer to my prayers! I've never seen ones so large before being sold, if you google wheels uk, you should find them. Any feedback to this would be appreciated, thanks, Jon
  18. Hiya, as a relative newbie to the Z, 2 weeks owned now, i'm already looking to go for 19"s. I've been reading the existing post's, and very helpful they have been too. i guess i'm after near epic stance on the rears for def, the fronts i can live with without any arch mods, i would definitely consider rolled arches on the rears, done it before with a Merc. I'm after some hyper silver 19"'s really, running stock 18" Rays with 20mm Eibach spacers on fronts, and 25mm Eibach spacers on rears, they look good, however, must do better! If anyone has any ideas of what would fit, not neccessarily with above spacers, just some nice 19" silver wheels, that would be good, maybe a pt/ex on my Rays, pretty new Bridgestone's all round, standard sizes, Thanks for the help, Jon.
  19. Very nice, i'm after some myself!!
  20. thanks for the response guys. Just to clarify, i have standard 18" Rays on currently, and they ARE 8 and a half J on the rears!, sorry, it was my mistake. Pete, could you follow up your reply with info on the site that supplies the 19" TSW Spa's, it's something i'm thinking about, my only concern, apart from the dosh, is what 19's do the ride?? I once did an old astra GTE, and put 17's on it, and my god, it was a horrible ride!! But this time ,i'll stick with the oem suspension, which i think is great anyway, any further thoughts on my predicament would be appreciated, thanks guys, Jon
  21. I would like to also replace my current 18" Rays, which i believe have an offset 35mm front and rear, and also are a 8J front, and a 8J rear. I have thought about some TSW Spa's, but have been told by Demon Tweeks, they won't fit, not sure why not, he mentioned problems hitting the Brembo calipers, but using quite large size spacers, i would'nt have thought that would be a problem. Anyhow, if anyone has changed their wheels to something afermarket, and managed to fill up the generous rear arches the Z has, i would love to know about it! It's amazing car, i'm smiling a lot driving nowadays!!!
  22. Hiya all, it's me again, i have just fitted some Eibach wheel spacers to my new 350Z, 25mm on rears, and 20mm on the fronts, no rubbing with the standard 18" Rays and i guess, standard size rubber on them (245x45x18 rear 225x45x18 front Bridgestones all round) I'm considering changing the wheels for some new TSW Spa's, also 18"X8" J, they come with an ofset of 35mm-45mm. The question is, do any of you guys happen to know the offset for my present 18" Rays?? I reckon i can get away with a little bit more on the rears as it is, just how much, i'm not sure yet! if anyone has tried something similar, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  23. Hiya, i'm looking for some nice shiny sill covers for my newish 350Z, anyone out there that does them, or knows someone that does?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Stonking car by the way!
  24. Thanks guys, above size spacers now on car, no probs with rubbing!!
  25. Hi there guys, just had delivery of my newish Z, amazing!!! Haven't stopped smiling all day!! It has GT pack, 18" Forged Rays on, i reckon i can stick some Eibach wheel spacers on the rears, and the fronts (Rears Bridgestone 245x45x18, fronts Bridgestone 225x45x18) The question is, how big can i go on both the rears, and the fronts, i know from doing this on other cars i've owned, specific trye choice is important, ie, some tyre manufacturers have more square-shouldered tyres than others! For the sake of argument, we'll stick with the Bridgestones, fairly rounded i would say, if any of you guys have tried this before, i would dearly love to know how you got on, i'm thinking 25mm on the rears, and 20mm on the fronts. WILL THEY RUB ON THE WHEEL ARCHES??? They will look great anyway!! Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received, Many Thanks, ps The missus is afraid to drive it!
