Are you able to offer refurbed boxes as a one for one swap? I wouldnt be able be off the road too long as im based in the middle of nowhere!
thanks for all your advice though
-
is it possible the linkages can wear and cause some of these issues?
-
well the additive my engineer put in swears its as good as molyslip, but who knows! always worth a try on your suggestion
i can't do much for the next few months as im away, but its top of the list for next project
-
this would make it the third oil choice change in less than a year! it will be the cleanest gearbox going!
-
Always worth a try i guess!
-
well cheapest ive seen a CD009 was around the 1K mark ...ouch..
My garage uses Valvoline and some friction reducing additive, whilst general characteristics improved, the basic problems remained, as i understand the synchro's are weak in that box

Not so much noise, second gear on some days is almost unusable, seems that most gears are getting increasingly difficult and it sometimes feels like stirring coal...but tonight from cold it was smooth as silk....its an odd 'box! but definitely getting worse. I think the release bearing is on its way out too, seems to be rattly at times.
I know its not a great design, but looking at options to helping this gearchange, its the only real let down of an otherwise nice car

lol, well a one for one swap with someone would be preferable, i know they are rare as hens teeth!
I assume you replaced yours with a rebuild/low milage one?
-
What sort of costs are to be expected?
Cheers

Just wanted peoples opinions on these wheels...
Offensive...don't do it !
-
yeah i tried greasing the splines and packing the CV boot with more grease, its back to normal clicking now
-
Probably an old quest, but i couldnt find a satisfactory answer, but do you guys and gals know anyone who can refurb the DE gearbox? i know historically there wasnt, but any new updates? Only solution i can find was a replacement, i hope i can find an alternative.
Cheers

my mistake, i just saw bumper, splitter is nice
-
be aware that the Stillen splitter doesnt have the headlight washers, which if you remove them it should be an MOT fail with new rules, depends on your garage

it didnt work lol

Agreed with Hamilton, he is hard to like, wears shades indoors, the whole pussycat doll missus thing, the twitter nonsense, he just seems a spoiled brat... skilled when he wants to be, a nightmare when he doesnt get his way
-
i need less noise lol, my set up is too loud i think!
-
what's the appeal of this filter system? i read it makes no difference to power or performance?
-
i have it on mine, tried all the 'easy' fixes, i'll just have to settle for a new kit from Zaman Alex
-
Two choices...
1. Send it off to "Clarion House" with a cheque and they will do the fix for you.
If you REALLY want to keep it as standard.
I spent a long time looking into this and found all the info about where to send it and how much (all on here somewhere, have a search and shout me if you can't find it)
2. New HU.
As Jason says the Bose setup is NOT actually Bose, just has Bose stamped on it.
Like most of the "top" systems put into cars at the moment. So it is actually a Clarion system, not hte decent Bose one, like you have in your kitchen. (As Do I)
I ended up just getting a new HU and ripping ALL the old crap out. Very glad I did.
did you change the speakers too?

It's like the 350 with Nissan. They want over 2k for a clutch when in reality you can buy it on here at 800 odd quid. Your friend should search owners clubs etc before forking out all that cash
£800 for a clutch?
