Mine had that smell when I drove spiritedly but after I skimmed my discs and broke the glaze on the pads all round. No more smell however hard I drive.

When the discs and pads are glazed there is more heat generated and less bite.

No way! I know how I personally drive hire cars and wouldn't want someone treating my own car in that way haha

 

There has been some research in to it, people are far less likely to treat a car badly if they pick it up from the owner and drop it back to the owner.. its not quite the same as dropping it back to a faceless corporation, you feel like you are looking after someones baby.

I do quite a bit of work for sports car rentals company's and I can only say you are massively under estimating the way people treat these cars. There are plenty of 3 to 5 car rental company's around London and you will be returning to the guy who owns them and trust me the people who take them out will trash them without blinking an eye.

The attitude is I have paid so I will do what I want to.

You will soon be on first name terms with the insurance company claims person.

I can't give a comprehensive list but I recently searched and bought a 370.

During my research I came across gearbox issues, just check the box is smooth.

Steering lock issue, make sure it has had the recall

Bonnet lifter issue, make sure bonnet opens smoothly.

Cars with the connect premium sat nav 2010 onwards are more sought after.

Other than these issues just the usual car checks for condition and history.

Best to ask Mark at Abbey or Jez at horsham as they will know.

 

I am not aware of anyone who has had the uprev done on the nismo. Talking to the dealer they mentioned the bhp and torque increases came purely from ECU changes so i would assume there is only so much more they can get out of it but there should be some.

 

I am now getting similar bhp to the nismo after my uprev but more torque. I believe the nismo takes it from 270 lb/ft to 276 whereas im sitting at 286.

 

The uprev would be breaking your warranty though which is something to consider.

Some of the bhp gain is in the H gate exhaust over the Y gate have seen figures around 6 bhp from this.

Haha a judges car couldn't win ! You'd of all called "fix!!" There was tough choice between Hayden's & Wills roadsters... Trouble is I love 370's & that Rose Black paint too !

Had a good look at your car at the ace cafe, the detail and finish is excellent. A truly stand out z and of course I'm loving the white wheels.

Just one thing bothers me, how the f*** did Will win best roadster today, did you run over the judges dog, murder his wife or is he just blind and stupid.

Gob smackingly ridiculous decision to give the award to a standard 370 with a Stillen over the baby blue z.

I have Few questions having Not been to Ace cafe before and not been to a meet.

 

1. I know it says start is 11am Sat. but what's the earliest you can turn up? (worried about the traffic mid morning and as I'm coming up from Gatwick area, M23 don't want to be sitting in jams too long)

2.Going to try and clean the car tomorrow or early Sat morning but reading earlier posts, it seems like you all shine your cars- up at the ACE. So what do you do for buckets, water etc bearing in mind the boot size of a Zed?

3. Is it true that once you are inside car park you can't leave easliy if you need to because parking's really tight?

I am sure some will be around by about 10 ish,

Most cars will be washed etc before arriving but the quick detailer will be out no doubt.

Getting in and out is not a problem based on last years event.

On way down M1 last night cruising home in my white 370 when guess what another white 370 drops in behind me, so common.

So glad I didn't buy one of those common Porsches.

I can only assume that when entering the model of car, that sellers have entered '370z' and also '370 z' therefore both are picked up when applying filters.

 

This is purely a guess though.

Found out today that Nick Swift dominated at goodwood in his Mini last weekend running tyres shaved to a unique profile from my self designed and built machine.

Match that with a 2cv event at Oulton Park the same weekend with my client having 3 pole positions, 3 race wins and 3 fastest laps.

My new clients for this year have set a new benchmark in there class, bring it on.

I thought Adrian Newey was supposed to be the best and paid accordingly. Now it appears F1 has to change its rules so Newey still looks good, I think the time has come Newey to f**k o**, as the saying goes"if you can't stand the heat in the kitchen""

My advice to Mr Newey is whinging when your not winning after a long run of winning is sour grapes and shows a lack of respect to other teams, engineers and drivers.

Learn to lose with grace and you will earn respect from your rivals.

I'm really pleased with your Nismo for my 370 it brings to life the synchro rev nicely at roundabouts etc and just adds just the right amount of low to mid rev sound I was looking for whilst giving the nice quiet cruise sound I prefer.

Visually the Nismo exhaust on the standard rear really does look good.

As they say horses for courses.
