  1. Nice one, Louise, hope the MOT went well last week...:)

Ha ha ha. Garage forgot to put car through MOT. But wasn't picking it up until the following morning, so they got it done in time. No probs, except advisory on corroded brake lines. I did think about braided hose lines, but then didn't get them. Oh well, guess whats next on the shopping list. Although where in the shopping list that fits? I've still not had the rays refurbed yet, and the nose needs a respray!!!

  2. No probs. Had a nice day out. Other half saw a lovely Renault Sport Clio 197 in white with red brembo calipers - was tasty. Had a coffee in Portobello, lunch at the Sun Inn in Dalkeith (highly recommend), then went to Dobbie's Garden Centre - nearly bought an azalea. We are so rock and roll!!! :band:

  3. I confess :surrender: Yes, I'm very time poor, although not cash rich, but I did send Cholula for a full spa treatment, her Xmas present.

She had a full body exfoliation, a mud wrap, a moisturising mask, a pedicure and a manicure - well Paul can give you the full techno details

I did have problems driving to work this morning - I couldn't see where I was going, cos I was looking in the wing mirror at her shiny hips :cloud9:

Anyway, thank you and :welcome: to Paul, she's had the full Paul Smith treatment....now there's an idea......that would be one helluva respray job.....

  4. ....that the Highway Code had been updated.

I always thought that when you approached a roundabout you were meant to give way to traffic coming from the right, however it seems that you just drive onto the roundabout, then stop in the middle and give way to traffic coming from the left, then wait for a space before you exit!! It also seems that your hazard lights aren't to be used for hazards, these are for parking!!! And long gone seems the "mirror/signal/manoeuvre", this has been replaced with a simultaneous manoeuvre/signal!!!

    I am so stupid!!

I'm not going to drive in the meantime, not until I've walked to my nearest W H Smith to pick up the latest version of the Highway Code, just in case there is something else that I've missed.

  5. Really, really sorry but I can't make this now and I was soooo looking forward to it, had even take the Monday off work too. Its one of my favourite runs too.

Unfortunately I have another engagement - I have to attend my god-daughters 2nd birthday party!! And the theme for the day is cows!! So I have to go dressed as a cow!!! I'm udderly gutted. :surrender: Nuff said!!!!

  6. I'm guessing from your first post that you got P1/P2 at Nobles. They are very very expensive. I'd recommend Stenhouse Motors @ Slateford Road. I'm blonde, female and get ripped off for anything to do with cars/servicing etc. I once paid £850 for a service for my civic!! Got P3 service and MOT at Stenhouse, sparks changed and new battery terminal for £300. I'm getting pads and discs myself and they are going to fit for £150. I trust them with my zed.

PS. Think I've spotted you a couple of times around Zedinburgh.

  7. I'm up for this (can't copy and paste - on the iPhone). Went down this road last week to Middlesbrough. Fab, love it. Interestingly on part of the legg, got behind a police driving training instructor. Was really good to watch for tips on safe passing, although hard to keep up.

I'll need to get the other half to check his running schedule but will let you know for definite soon. Lx.

  8. Apols!! Didn't see your post earlier. A fellow zedinburgh 350 owner. I also have issues with mainstream garage servicing. I've now found a winner and would highly recommend them. Stenhouse motors on Slateford Road in Zedinburgh. I took Cholula there for major service and MOT. Also got new spark plugs and battery terminal fitted. £350 done. Other half has scooby under warranty from Nobles (Nissan and Subaru) and after issues he isn't taking his back there. He'd rather pay money to Stenhouse and get it done right.

    PS. Slightly belated but welcome!!!

  9. Was in Thailand in 2007. Stayed on Koh Samui at Bophut. We went to FMP, got speed boat for £20 a la Miami Vice style, all to ourselves. You don't then pay the taxes to enter Koh Phangan. Boat comes back for you at agreed time. For us was 5am. We had to be up and out for trip next morning at 8am. Staying in Bophut is nicer than Chaweng and cheaper for boat to FMP.

  10. Got my plate to hide the year of car, but as everyone knows I kinda do things in haste (bought the first zed I saw on whim!).

Anyway, just wanted something with my initials LML and only was willing to pay the minimum £250 from DVLA.

Would have like V6 LML but wasn't available, ended up with R500 LML. RS is the other halves initials and with my initials and a bit oooo in between.

Fairly happy, until I realised that it actually reads a**hole!!

So at least if I make a mistake driving the zed, I can call myself an a-hole first before anyone else.

Either that or its a japanese person agreeing with you. ;)
