  1. That was me buddy, your car looked good too! I would have hung around but had a beemer tailing me.

car sounded good! what area are you in ?

Nicely modified sunset 350z coupe a40 on way back from ace cafe

    Looks and sounds awesome

That's charge speed rear bumper is a must I think :)

So who was it lol ???

We waved at each other :/

I was in my 350z roadster with the roof down :D

  2. I'm not qualified to comment on the M3 as I've not driven one but if having a car that has good performance AND turns heads (In a good way) is a factor in your decision making, the 370 is a good choice.

I'm surprised just how much the zed does turn heads. Drove past around 20,000 Nottingham Forest fans at the weekend and they weren't half having a good look - so much so that I got a little paranoid and thought there was something wrong with the car. There wasn't - it just looks awesome. :D

Its true! they thought thats a funny looking 350z :p oh wait!

  3. Dynamat and thicker mats do help, also you do actually get used to it, it's a lot worse on certain road surfaces, the tyre type/make makes a big difference aswell

It won't handle quite like a clio due to weight and wheelbase but it has very sharp handling and is very chuckable ( I know as I have a Clio and a 370)

Warranty ? This is a tough One, I bought within the warranty and haven't needed it but I do like the connect premium which came on later cars

what he said :p beat me to it

  4. Think the only way you are going to reduce road noise is through tyre choice and that is not an area that should be dictated by noise opposed to performance. once you change the exhaust you will have that to listen to instead but do bare in mind, its a jap sports car, designed to be light and perform well there has to be a sacrifice somewhere and I am yet to drive a jap car that isnt like this.

  5. Definitely your first proper car then with it being RWD! there's only one R32 lad and thats also a nissan not a DUB :D

You seem pretty clued up, from the above I think you are moving the right direction as far as the nissan over bmw!

fair enough, nissans are not too cheap to fix either. what car are you coming from ?

I've only glanced through cutters. I've pretty much ruled out an M3 though because of the costs involved. I'd like a low miler facelift model which is out of my budget. Even if it was within my budget, the running costs would cripple me, especially if something went wrong.

Elaborate other than fuel and tax and a small insurance hike ?

I could be wrong, and I don't know the prices but my head tells me, (with it being a BMW) if anything went wrong and needed replacing, the bills would be huge.

Before I can take this into consideration, I would have get past the extra 6-7k I need to add to my budget.

Clio 200. Still got just over 3 year's warranty and free servicing as well.

Just think it's time to get a proper car now. I started going in that direction a few years ago when I got a MK5 R32. Got a pretty big speeding ticket though which knocked me down a few pegs, which forced me to sell up and get something cheap to insure. Enter Twingo 133 CUP. Really good fun little car but ended up getting bored with it's lack of grunt.

Sold that and got an old Civic EM1 which had a DC2 engine and gearbox with LSD amongst other breather mods. Spent a small fortune having the engine re-built with larger pistons etc. Car went like split-sh*t but kept on having little things go wrong with it. Got fed up of traipsing back and forth getting it fixed so sold up.

Bought the Clio 200 as I started driving when the 182's were new and always wanted one. Thought I'd get one before Renault ruined them buy sticking in a twin-clutch gearbox.

It's a fun car and a riot on the track with enough grip to embarrass much more expensive machinery through the corners. However, I can't shake the want for some rear wheel drive action and to get out of hatchback territory!

    Sorry for the essay!

  8. Cheers guys :)

On paper the M3 is quicker and more powerful.

Ive been an active member of M3 cutters for a few years now, and the general feeling on there is that they are quicker.

Persoanlly, i dont care! The 350z just feels more raw to me, and brutal. I feel like the 350 has more character too, even starting it up every morning is an event in itself! Love the sountrack!

Think im going to struggle with keeping her OEM. Im going to get myself some spacers, thinking 25mm alround, and possibly get an Eibach Pro Springs kit to drop her abit. :D

    25/30 ;)

  9. Have to disagree there the M3 is another ball game over standard E9x BMW. But its the frequency or lack of with the 370z that makes it that somewhat more special.

I have only driven the E92 M3 V8 Coupe, no prior models. And I would say its far from Clinical and computer controlled, Functional yes with exceptional build quality yes. I rarely have driving aids switched on unless its very wet or am lethargic its a great drivers car with good feedback.

i am thinking of a change and to go for the E92 M3 Myself, do you a deal on my twin turbo 350z if you fancy it :p makes the 370 look slow and still pulls on the e92 as I found last week.

Must say for Road presence the 370 is very eye catching

As sad as it sounds this is something I love about the 370, it turns heads. An M3 is just a high-spec 3 series and to the masses thats how it appears but the 370z is a whole model in its own right, with those huge rear arch flares, long bonnet etc, its a proper sports car.

I also don't like the clinical, cold, computer controlled idea that I get from an M3 (never driven one tho) and I think the 370 is a nice halfway house. The interior is really high quality, and the traction control works well, but turn it off and its completely unrestrained, you can feel the solid gear changes through the "agricultural" gearbox, and it really feels like a muscle car!

  10. Mine is still attached but doesn't fit to my veilside so is cabled tied im taking it off when the suns out to fit zspeed one, Il take a pic when its off if you don't get one by then, all fixings are fine

if Ash is sorted by the time you have it off let me know 2nd dibs :p
