  1. I've not changed my stereo for the same reasons as the others, nothing near to OEM looking.

Not so I've got a Kenwood DDX-6029 and the colour matches the interior perfectly

Might be newer models that match, just need to look around.Resize-of-4-Nissan-350Z.-Car-Cinema---Navigation---ipod,-Kenwood-DDX-7029--Kna-g520.jpg

  2. I have just as much fun in the Jaaaaag as I did in the Zed, different kind of fun though of course. She is a big girl, 1.8t kerb weight, but bundles of torque and with 2 sequential turbos when you want instant power and use the paddles she is as quick off the mark as a standard Zed and I would say at speed in gear ie overtaking she is quicker :p

Yeah I used to love the noise and the low down seating position of the Zed but now I get to almost silently (inside & out) breeze past people at rediculous knots (legal of course) in absolute comfort with 500 watts pumping out through 17 speakers :band:

Does it compare to the Zed? In no posible way can you compare it other than it has 4 wheels and the power comes from the right 2 of them ;)

    Sent from the golf club...

No offence but maybe your just getting old. I've driven lots of powerful modernish german cruisers (such as the E Class) which are quiet and easy to drive in auto. Is it more fun than a Zed, probably not. Pros and cons for each kind of car.

  3. I didn't think the 370Zs were that expensive 2nd hand, I think they are around the £14k mark now,

As much as I love the 350Z I would have to consider the 370Z if I was about to buy and they were only say £3k more than one of the later 350Zs.

But you won't go wrong with a 350Z, I've had mine for 4 years come May and I've never considered selling mine :) .

  4. I get a big screeching noise usually when first starting up sometimes and pulling off, wonder if it's the same noise as yours.

I'm not sure if mine is making a noise when turning a specific direction though.

    Belts loose maybe?

Could be just that, it's nothing that serious and only occurs when I move off, but when my service at kaizer is due in a few months I will get it investigated! :)

  5. .. after all the increase in power is largely a result of a higher redline, but i rarely go above 5k anyways, soi wouldnt notice a difference. In fact, the older car has slightly more torque, so for cruising i think you're better off with an older one. If i was doing trackdays however, i'd want theextra power, so depends on usage!

In actual fact the engine in the HR is 80% new over the old engines. Nissan took the old zed engine and basically tuned and improved it as much as they could. Its also got improved cooling, ram air and they even mounted it lower in the chassis to improve handling....... So it was much more than just increasing the Rev limit to 7500rpm.

But it lacked some torque the original DE engine had (people seem to forget that).

  6. That's good to know. I'm hoping to get Berk HFC's at some point for my 350 & would hate for it to cause problems come MOT time. It was the same with a JDM WRX that I used to own which had a high flow sports Cat ~ always sailed through emissions when warmed up properly.

I highly recommend the BERK HFCs as they are also a superb fit for the zed compared to some other HFCs. Had mine installed at Abbey and they did the EML light fix for it as well. Be aware though when you first fit them they take a couple of weeks to 'bed in' as under hard acceleration you may hear some change (like a weird tapping noise) but this completely disappeared after awhile.

My Berks/Scorpion posed no problem today, just drove over, no kore spiritedly than usual. Sailed through :teeth:

Well done SuperStu another zed through!
  7. Had mine done in September and no problem here either B) One thing though was the BERK HFCs need to be warmed up a bit before they pass the emissions but it was fine, not bad considering I bought them second hand and this is the 3rd MOT pass since I've had them Good luck to all you zed peeps. :)

  8. Also if you want power gains with a remap be sure to check the bore size throughout the exhaust.

One of the reasons I choose Milltek was that it was an improvement over OEM bore size, a lot of exhausts are exactly the same.

  9. Bought off CS a few months ago but didn't need to use as current discs/pads still have fair amount left, despite being told otherwise by Kwik Fit previously. Bought with forum discount at £245 so will price at £215 collected from south London. May be able to post at additional cost but heavy so would prefer collection. Would also prefer to sell as a package.

  10. Putting figures aside it certainly feels like a heavy car when behind the wheel.

I'm not sure what an EP3 type R weighs but I know that felt very light to drive compared to the Z, it was much more chuckable.

You should try to lose unsprung mass as this is where weight reduction counts the most.

Looking at your sig it looks like you have 18" OEM alloys which are very heavy, I know as I used to have them.

Try some lighter alloys and I'm sure that would help it feel a lot nimbler.

  11. Milltek won't sound much louder but with some BERK HFCs it does above 4000 rpm. Other exausts can be louder but the tone of the Milltek is awesome in my opinion. Plus it even looks the best when nicely polished up.

  12. Sorry for late update on this but have got more information now. I moved address in July and was in temporary accommodation until I moved in to my new flat which I was buying. So I had changed my V5 doc and driving license when I moved in to my new flat in November, the same week in fact. When I’ve told Medway council they have said I needed to inform DVLA when I moved out of my old house so they couldn’t lift the impound. The offence was a bus lane incident which is correct and I was sent the photo, fair enough.

The council sent 5 letters to my old address, but I hadn’t got any of these which is probably cause the new owner of our house probably binned them as he was a bit of a miserable git. The council then instructed the impound in March this year so I am sure that JBW must have got my new address from DVLA as by then my details were updated with my new flat. But where it gets interesting is that I haven’t had any contact from JBW until a few days ago with a letter dated the 25th June. When I rang them they said they had sent a letter on the 5th June but no sign of that. I have a feeling they took my car without properly informing me but the dilemma is that each day goes by is like £30 per day so I have had to pay the fine and have thankfully got the car back, less screwed out of £800! I have sent a letter back to JBW to confirm if the process they followed was correct and to post appeal, as I literally had no contact or knowledge about the whole thing until my car was taken. Even if I had got the letter they supposedly sent on the 5th that would be a good few hundred off the fine.

So I guess make sure you inform DVLA when you leave any residence, in my case temporary accommodation meant I was living in between places, mixture of friends and family so only felt the need to inform DVLA once my completion date came through on my new property. Because of that it has left me in a very bad situation!

  13. Thanks guys - all JWB could say it was a parking ticket. I asked if they would have photographic evidence and he said they (Medway council) should do. Funny thing is that I never got any prior notification of this and any parking tickets I pay within the 14 days. What worries me though is that they say the car will be auctioned in 5 days so legal advice would have to be swift to say the least, unless I can get some sort of restraint on that. I did move address in November last year though but I am sure I got no tickets at this time, if I had it would have been paid. I guess I need to speak to the Council is not much info at the moment. Bloody pi**ed off to say the least!

  14. So I go to where my Z should be parked... and nothing there.. a nice space instead of a 350Z. I ring the police and it turns out that it has been taken away by a company called JWB on behalf of Medway council. I get a contact number for JWB and they say Medway had issued a ticket on 27th October 2012, they couldn't give any other details than that and said I need to contact Medway for more details. But the best part is that if I don't pay then £790 pounds in 5 days the car will be auctioned. Now I am pretty sure that I never got a ticket then and if I had I would have paid it within the 14 days. Even if I hadn't paid I should surely have got some communication, but I haven't had a ticket or any letter! Does this sound fishy to any of you and what should I do, contact a lawyer?
