My gunmetal has a similar issue, I think it is just one of those endearing Zed features - probably an artefact of the flap material. In fact if is not a slightly differnt shade it has probably been painted after delivery.

Just been watching the web videos of the Monte. Does anyone out there know why the competition cars are not showing registration plates?
