  1. Hi I am looking to add a few aero parts to my 07 HR roadster. So far I have seen a few parts I like - but most seem to be from outside the UK. I was wondering if anyone can help me with best places in the UK to source the following items (or similar looking replicas) Rear Diffuser - Top Secret Side Skirts - Chargespeed Bottom Line. Front Splitter - Stillen OEM. Cheers
  2. I live just east of Chester and work in Wrexham - i'm looking for somewhere to get my Z serviced (27,000 mile) in the locality. Ordinarily I would have gone to Chester main dealer - but they seem very expensive and I havent had great service from them over a repair. Any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Bought my 07 plate Z roadster from Westway Nissan. They tried to bash the books when I went to pick up the car by trying to force me to buy 12 months tax on the day I picked it up - when I only wanted to buy 6 They also put the tax through the books as if they had taxed the car. They also only gave me minumum warrany with the vehicle (3 months). They seemed totally disinterested from start to finnish. After 7 months of owning the car - the slave cylinder went. Took the car to Chester for repair (very expensive) £1100 for a replacement slave cylinder and clutch. Drove the car 10 miles after having it repaired and the engine warning light came on. Apparently they had forgotten to connect something back up properly. I have put a complaint in to Nissan customer services with regards to the above - they are also disinterested. This is the first Nissan I have owned and will probably be the last - i'm not at all impressed. I am seriously thinking of getting rid and going back to Lotus - at least they are reliable.
  4. I had something similar a few weeks back (clutch not returning) - it was the slave cylinder. My car has now had three of these since new (07 plate - 28,000 miles). The original one, the one supposedly replaced under a recall notice - and the one I now have.
  5. Managed to get the jet partially unblocked. Took multiple blasts with an air pump, multiple twiggles with a pin, a kettle of hot water and about an hour and a half of fiddling. Still one jet blocked - may give it another go this weekend.
  6. Update. Took the car back to Nissan - apparently they hadnt connected something up right when they put the new clutch in
  7. I did find that when looking around but I didnt realise the OBD codes were universal as that car is an Infinity. I have just found this. http://www.tankota.net/repair/Repair_Ma ... p0705p.pdf If i'm reading this right - the car must have recieved a signal that it was in neutral whilst I was actually driving in gear. If that is right - then its a bit of a relief as it doesnt sound too serious, but i'll still have to get it sorted and reset. Maybe this code can be added to the above list
  8. Blimey that was quick! Had already checked it when you posted I checked the code a few times - it always flashes with the sequence I gave above. There only seems to be one code stored. I'll check again later just to make sure I havent miscounted - but i'm pretty sure I didnt.
  9. Code is 850 (10 slow flashes, 8 fast, 5 fast, 10 fast, 10 slow). Looked it up in the error code table and its not one of the ones listed.
  10. Ok thanks. Its not something I have seen before - and with it coming on after only 10 miles following a major repair, i'm a bit paranoid.
  11. I did think of that - but in trying to get the jet off, one of the clips that holds it in place snapped off (they seem very brittle). If I try and remove it completely I may end up snapping all of them and would like a fall back position if this doesnt work.
  12. I know I have mentioned this in another thread - but need some specific advice. After my clutch problem which is now fixed - I drove the car home last night (<10miles) and as I got home the amber CEL light came on. I rang Nissan today to get some advice and they said to bring the car back down. I queried whether the vehicle was safe to drive with the CEL light on as I dont want to cause damage by driving it, if its the start of something serious - but the guy in the workshop said that if it was serious - the CEL light would be RED indicating that the car is in limp mode. I only did about 100 yards in the car with the CEL light on and was only doing very low speed down my lane - so probably wouldnt have been able to tell from driving the car if it had gone into limp mode. I dont have the manual with me right now so cant check - but googling hasnt returned any information about a red CEL light. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. Update: Got the car back - noise in neutral that dissapears when depressing the clutch is still there, so looks like it may be a red herring. Still not happy about the slave cylinder/warranty issue though and i'm going to persue it with Nissan Customer service. On a different note - as I got the car home - the engine warning light came on. Doing the self diagnotic check gave me an error code 850. Not sure what that means as I cant find that code in the list on this website - looks like another trip back to Nissan is on the cards. Looks like they have also had the gear knob off at some point during the repair and there is a really annoying rattle coming from it now when accelerating - almost sounds like there is a screw loose inside it. Not impressed
  14. Does anyone know where I can get replacement wiper arm mounted washer jets from? My passenger one is blocked. I have traced the tubing all the way to the wiper arm and water is getting to that point - but not getting through the washer jet itself. Looking at the jet - it seems to simply clip onto the wiper arm and so should be easy to replace. I have done some searching round but cannot seem to find replacement parts.
  15. All in all I havent been too impressed with Nissan so far. Whilst looking for a Z we went to several main dealers and found them to range from disinterested to bordering on dishonest, even once we had found the car - should have followed my gut. So far - Chester have been good and have referred my case to Nissan customer services to see if a contribution can be negotiated, waiting for somebody to call. Just bought a used Volvo from a main dealer and found them to be completely different, totally professional - a breath of fresh air. We were looking at a possible upgrade to the 370 in a year or so - the resolution to this issue will make or break that decision. Shame really because I love the car. edit: ZManalex - thanks for the offer - but I had already given the go ahead to do the work and its complete now. Plus you are a little out of my area .
  16. We were too - but the dealer wouldnt budge. Kinda makes a mockery of buying off a main dealer - i'd have probably got a 3 month warranty if I had bought one from Dodgy Bob's car emporium. Just been doing some digging around and it appears that my year of Z was recalled for exactly this issue. Spoke to Chester and they are saying that the recall replacement was carried out in Oct 2008 and that the slave is now out of the standard 12 months parts warranty. I did contact Birmingham after taking reciept of the car to complain about a noise on the clutch (it makes an almost grinding type noise in neutral - that dissapears when I depress the clutch) - but I was told this was normal "clutch chatter". I'm wondering now whether the two things could be related.
  17. I bought an 07 plate 350z roadster from a main dealer (Westway Birmingham) in July 2010. Last week the clutch peddle stopped working and after having it looked at by Nissan Chester - they are saying the slave cylinder has gone (£1100 to fix and repair the damage it has caused to other components). The car has done ~27000 miles. When I bought it - the dealer only gave us 3 months warranty which we were surprised at given the cost and nature of this vehicle, we did query at the time - but were told this is standard on used Nissans (on their website it currently states up to 12 months). I have spoken to main dealers for other makes and they were also surprised that this was so short - suggesting that 12 months would have been the norm. One of the reps at the Nissan Garage in Chester also seemed surprised when I told him about the 3 month warranty and said they may be able to negotiate with Nissan to make a contribution towards the repair - although I have yet to hear anything back about this. Does anyone have any experience/advice regarding this - have I been done WRT 3 months warranty?
  18. Thanks for the replies - glad to hear the clutch noise is probably nothing to worry about. I'll try and do some more investigations WRT to the wheel noise. Thanks again
  19. Hi - i'm new here and am the proud owner of an 07 plate roadster - had it about 4 weeks (from WestWay - Birmingham). Loving it so far - but I have a couple of issues that I was wondering if I could get some advice on. When I depress the clutch peddle in neutral - it sounds different (quieter/smoother) to when the clutch peddle is released. The louder/rougher sound starts about 3/4 of the way out and the only way I can describe it is like a dull grinding. Its not really loud - but is very noticeable above the engine/exhaust noise. I also noticed that upon the start of this sound - the rev counter blips down ever so slightly - maybe 50rpm I did test drive a few other 350s before I bought mine and did notice this on one other car - so i'm wondering whether its something I should worry about (knackered clutch)- or is it just the way the car sounds. Also - I have noticed a slight high pitched metalic sound coming from the passenger side of the car when on the move - its really only noticeable when i'm on the move next to a hedge or a wall with the top down (the sound must be reflecting back off the hedge/wall). My first thought was that I could have a stone trapped between the brake pad and disc - but the brakes feel fine and it doesnt get worse upon depressing the brake peddle. Could it be a wheel bearing issue? Any advice would be appreciated.
