passed an azure zed with nismo decal on nose yesterday heading away from lesbury towards warkworth. I was in brothers car so not a zed. Anybody on here? Looked really smart!

Really? I thought this was just an assumption a lot of people make and actually you have to declare anything that affects your policy as soon as possible. It probably covers this in your policy small print. last time i got an sp30 i called as i didn't know what to do and the guy said that i just needed to let them know at my next renewal. Think i will phone though as it could be used against me in a claim.

yep there are loads of crazy van drivers about! I'm not one of the many vans you'll see lane hogging though! I can't really say exactly how much my premium went up last year as it was my first renewal with the zed so not comparative with last renewal. I bought the car a few months before renewal. Prior to the zed i had a 330ci and i think my new renewal with zed was about £250 more than 330ci the previous year. That might be a lot to do with the different car as opposed to premiums going up i suppose!

i didn't mean it was a joke relating to getting the points, i'm fully aware thats my fault. was more talking about the general way insurance premiums are rising. i definately do drive differently in the van though, usually because i'm on a tight schedule or in a rush to get home. whereas zed is only used on weekends and holidays mainly. saying that i'm not a crazy or aggressive driver but i have slowed down since yesterday! Think i might call my insurance company and ask their opinion, i know you technically need to let them know at renewal but think its a safer bet to make them aware now.

i think the type of conviction must have differing effects on insurance, but someone else might have a better idea. For example dangerous driving must be considered higher risk than an sp30? No idea for this ts20 i got though? Its also hard to tell because in recent years insurance just seems to go up regardless! Nightmare.

i know its a joke! Think they're slowly trying to force us out of performance cars! Its annoying that all my points are work related, i do a lot of miles with work (20k plus) but have a 5k limit for the zed. Just praying it doesn't get so bad to insure that i can't justify it anymore!

got pulled by the police yesterday, was driving down a hill and my lane was a single with two lanes coming uphill. There was a section where my lane could overtake into 2nd lane coming uphill, i was stuck behind 2 trucks and saw just one car coming other way&quite a long way off so i went for it. By time i could pull back in, lines dividing carriageways had turned solid and at this point i realised oncoming car was highway patrol!! They turned around, pullled me over and gave me 3 points for ignoring white lines. Admittedly they were quite friendly! This was in a work van mind, would have easily made it in the zed! I'm now panicking as to how much this will affect my insurance renewal as i found last one bad enough! I already have an sp30 (again in a work van) from march 08. I currently have 7 years no claims and am 28. The new conviction is ts20 i think! Anybody have any idea how much this could affect quotes? Hope i don't have to sell my beloved zed!

followed a black zed through kilmarnock just after 5 today. Anyone on here? Whoever was driving was having a bit of fun with it so i turned the radio off and put the window down to appreciate the noise! If your on here i want to know what exhaust you've got?! Sounded awesome! P.s i wasn't in my zed!

Its easy enough to lift so they're obviously working its just a bit irritating having to hold the catch with one hand then lift hatch with other especially when putting heavy stuff in boot. Its probably the little springs then not the struts. Tried penny trick to no effect! Just one of those things I can live with but would like to sort really! Carbon tailgates bit out of budget!

My tailgate doesn't lift itself so that when I open the catch I then have to lift the hatch separately. I take it this is common then?! Also one of the little springs on mine is bent (about £30 from Nissan each!!!) Is this caused by old struts or just how they were from new? Bit frustrating although mines never tried to eat me yet!

ws out on bike with a couple of workmates tonight in galston. Only got a glance, noticed nismo badge on back, bodykit& looked amazing! Anybody on here??? Seen a nice silver one in galston before too.

check the storage compartments behind seats! locking nut key etc could be in there. i had that kind of noise and was really worried then found it was that!

yep probably is a k1, the k2 looks more or less like stock exhaust. If its ridiculously loud baffles probably aren't in. Its still pretty loud without though by my standards. Quite a laugh though! There seems to be quite a few zeds in ayrshire! Always see them about but i never have mine when i'm working up that way! Saves petrol mind! Although wouldn't mind trying along that road that goes past sorn. Nice drive down to stranraer too except for the cameras!

if its got big cans at back its a k1! Mine came with a k1 fitted and i wanted to change it asap but not so sure now. Too many other bills if nothing else. Do get used to it! They can drone a bit at cruising speeds! If it doesn't have the baffles in then fitting them would tone it down a bit! P.s. What part of ayrshire are you from? I work up in kilmarnock quite a bit although i'm from newcastle. Enjoy! I've had mine since june&still novelty hasn't worn off!

i don't find my z does tramline much, might be because my previous 330ci did it so badly though! It was terrible and got worse in cold weather for some reason. Especially when braking sometimes you needed to grab the wheel to stop it going off the road! May have been worn bushes also. Ps mines just on the standard size rays so different alloys may be the difference!

Cheers! I can't believe how good the scuffmaster kit is for the money. I thought about doing it on my old 330ci for ages and can't believe I didn't! Seat is almost like new now. Going to do the passenger seat over weekend but its not as bad as driver seat was!

Forgot to mention difference in colour is just due to lighting!

Had a go at the drivers side 1st and really chuffed with the results!

well i ordered the scuffmaster kit and it arrived last week. i will report back when i get a chance to use it. will take some before and after photos. kit was about £27 including cleaner and conditioner which i've run out of. fingers crossed it'll be a simple job!

i was driving along the seafront when i saw gunmetal 04 with nismo spoiler, just wondering if it was anyone on here?! Think whoever it was noticed me in my sunset z! Should have flashed the lights

Mine does this! Just assumed it must be normal! revs go up and down a tiny bit and car shakes a little sometimes. I'll give the aircon thing a try next time I'm idling for a bit, Good tip! Cheers! 350z seems to have plenty random noises which you need to learn to ignore I reckon. Main one being the gearbox/clutch which seems to make all sorts of random noises!
