  9. (quote) I have tested the new duct setup on the road and just recently on track at Teesside Autodrome which is pretty hard on the brakes. We fitted a second set of ducts to my friends Z and he gave the brakes some abuse on track. He has EBC disks and ds3000 pads. Previously he had bad pad transfer at the Nurburgring which cleared up with some road use. This time around with the ducts fitted, the brakes just kept going, lap after lap! As a test we then blocked the passenger side duct with tape to simulate the ducts not being fitted. The effect was plain to see as we ran into the dark- the passenger side disc started to glow orange, while the driver side disc remained normal. Result! yeah the setup worked really well, on the ring the brakes where juddering that bad that i had to come off half way round. At teeside i ran lap after lap with zero problems with my brakes, i wont be doing any trackdays without them now
  10. its our 1st time there so ill let you know what its like,
  11. anyone else doing this track night?? its cheap at £80!!
  12. i think if you start using any race/trackday pads they are all harsh, i used sbs pro track pads on the vx220 and they did start to "eat" into the alloy wheels. Im using ds3000 at the min and while they have immense stopping power i had major pad transfer at the ring. "trackpig" was using brake cooling ducts at the ring and you could really feel the difference in alloy wheel temp, so they must do a good job of keeping disc temps down! the dust is on another level !! i now have brake ducts fitted (pm trackpig for details) so ill see how they performe on my next trackday (teeside autodrome 4th september).
  13. I had them with standard discs on the vx220 but must admit i didnt have the car much longer after i fitted them so i dont know how long the discs would have lasted for. but they where the best combo i had tried on the vx,
  14. has anyone tried these pads on a trackday? i had these on my old vx220. I know they work really well on light cars, anyone used them on the 350z? maybe they are no good on heavier cars? ta for any info

    Which pads?

Just for your information DS3000's are not meant for the road, they are meant for high operating temperatures and have a fairly high wear rate hence the serious amount of dust. I am aware of the track only status of ds3000 pads. My mate is an extreme type of person who demands pads which can take high temperatures while driving to work/ shops/ on track. Even so, I dont think he would go ds3000 again. This is true, on the ring i had a lot of pad transfer which was making the car judder like f**k, brake ducts are needed to keep the discs a bit cooler. they did wear quite a lot to. But on a plus side they are very very strong pad. ill be seeing how they work with cooling ducts on my next trackday soon. Must add i was quite impressed with yellow stuff that where on the 2 other 350z's on the ring trip.
