  1. It's a 2003 and has done 123,000 miles. It's my daily driver which I bought in 2010 with 40k on the clock. It's been flawless overall but it's about time I started taking a little more care of it. It's all mechanically sound but it's picked up some dings and scrapes along the way. I figured I would treat it to a full refurb at Motura in Bournemouth - actually after seeing an ad on facebook and then going and visiting Jamie there.

Here's the short list of what's being done:

â˜Bumper scruffs, slightly misshapen and reseating etc

    â˜New number plate fitting (front)

    â˜Colour-code parking sensors

    â˜Scrapes around fuel filler door

â˜Bonnet bubbling at the front and rear (probably needs a respray)

    â˜Wheel refurbishment

    â˜Headlight refurbishment

â˜Dents on passenger side small (door panel and rear arch)

â˜Paint scrape on passenger side rear quarter

    â˜Door handles dinged / scraped - refurbishment

    â˜Scrapes on wing mirrors

â˜Key scratches around drivers side handle

    â˜Key scratches at boot

    â˜Windscreen wiper arms

â˜Couple of chips on the windscreen

    â˜Z badges resprayed

Now for some pictures. Before (not looking too bad really but this is the good side. The other side of the bumper wasn't very nice):

This little Aygo is actually pretty neat.. I have to say I don't hate it (that's a compliment)

  2. With the usual poor quality paint showing marks around the head unit and chubby hole, I'm thinking of having that part flocked rather than trying to repaint with textured paint and hoping it comes out ok.

What are the thoughts on this? Can the rubberised paint still look factory and keep the texture of the plastic or is t really obvious?

  3. Eeek that's a right nasty one. Has it gone right through or just deeply scratched it?

Tell you what it would take some doing to rip it right through.....I struggle to cut leather with a fresh Stanley blade at times.

Honestly I could probably do 'something' with it but I'm not convinced it would totally hide it especially with the perforation in the leather

Si at Mondo will probably be able to advise.

Unfortunately it's right the way through - it's pretty severe and weirdly I still have absolutely no idea how it could have happened!

  4. Nasty - how did that happen? Were you wearing something with metal buttons?

That's the weird thing - I have no idea. Haven't been wearing anything with metal buttons, no spikey collars or anything like that! I'm wondering if it just dried and broke but the leather around it is still quite pliant

  5. Getting out of the car earlier this morning, I looked back and to my horror there is a tear on the back support of my drivers seat!

Can anybody suggest what can be done to fix this or am I looking at getting a donor seat?

  7. Well my 2003 GT is still going strong but it's getting to the age where I decide to either get rid of it or keep it and live with the fact that many things / bushings etc need to be replaced around now. I love the car so I'll be keeping it.. But I'm wondering what people consider essential mods?

    So far I have:

Wheel spacers (I'd consider these essential)

Nismo Exhaust (lucky enough to have this on the car when I bought it)

Rear parking sensors (dealer fitted when it was new - definitely consider these essential too)

    Stubby antenna

I think that's just about it - what else do people consider 'defacto'?
