  1. Christ when did you put that plate on? You not had a tug from the local plod yet? I would have thought they would have been all over that like a rash??
  2. I can't comment on having the Z re-gassed but I have had my last one done 3 times at different places. It is pretty straight forward and had no issues with any of them. It appears to be something that can be done by anyone with a modicum of techincal knowledge so no need to pay top dollar IMO.... Re the CD skipping... This happened alot with my 6CD Changer in my other car as well. I guessed it was down to condensation on the CD's as it warmed up or something. I would get different results if I brought a CD from the house or used one that had been in the car all night. Maybe it is different for Z's if there is a fix as mentioned though... HTH a little.
  3. Ok ok stop it guys lol... What I meant to say was nothing extra special above stock. You lot seem to have so many trick extras. Is that better Had a look at the JDM thread and will be there for sure. Will have to bring the bin lids so will be in the 'other car' but will make a point of visiting the stand. Cheers for the warm welcome. Can get back to posting my numpty questions about polishing and why I can't find the bluetooth kit on my roadster... Doh!!!!!
  4. Got a host of kit on order so thanks for the input guys.... One more question. This has given me the idea to try and bleed a little bit of life in to the other car which is the mileage eater for work. 12 year old black thing with four wheels. The black has become dull and matt in areas as you would expect. Does polish get this off or do I need something a little stronger. T-Cut possibly?
  5. Just saying hello and posting a couple of pics. Nothing special I am afraid, standard Roadster in Silver. No plans for major mods for the moment. Just lurking around and finding out what I can about the car first of all. Hello to one and all and see you in the forums.....
  6. Jeez, being a sound system ignoramus I thought the idea of getting quality systems like Bose was to reduce this type of his. With the stereo on fairly quietly it sounds like a valve set... well not really but you get my meaning. I would expect this from a Goodmans set up but not Bose. Sounds good when I crank it up and guess that's what it is all about. Something akin to F1 cars being the most advanced there is but can hardly tick over smoothly. It's in the design.. Anyway, enough rambling... Thanks for the feedback. Geddit... see what I did there.. feedback... Oh well. Will get my coat...
  7. SIlver 07 Roadster.. There is pronounced hissing noise from the speakers with ignition on but stereo off. This continues at the same level with the stereo on so if you play it quietly you can hear the hiss through it. Oddly enough if you turn the stereo sound sound right down the hiss fades out after about 15 secs but comes back as soon as you turn the sound back up. I know Amps can cause his but to the extent it actually spoils the sound??? It maybe a bit of a red herring but there was something in the glove compartment as there is a hole and velcro in the removeable panel under the carpet. There are also 4 wires taped up underneath. Possibly another amp? Can't have been multichanger with only 3 or 4 wires surely? I expected better from an upgraded Bose sound system to be honest.
  8. That is superb!! Many thanks indeed. I think I cheated getting the Silver one (black was and still is my fave to be honest) but the downsides are I don't get as obvious a finish as I would with gun metal or coloured option. I am sure it will look great but nothing better than a highly glossed colour finish. Gonna go try and prove myself wrong. Pics to follow.....
  9. That annoys me so much!!! Could you not try the civil or no win/no fee to see if they believe they can get something. It really sucks. What the hell happened to common sense I would most definately be keeping an eye on his tyres and tax disk. The minute he steps over the line he gets a report. Petty I know but after all this satisfaction will do.. Feel for you there....
  10. Agree. I started using Supernatural on my GM. Its awesome. Panel pot is fairly cheap and it goes a long way and is easy to apply. Tim from Envy should sort you out. Don't forget to give her a decent clay and polish first. Prime Lime is great for that. Then just top up with Dodo Red mist. Bradders. I am very embarrased to ask but I had a banger for as long as I can remember (main car has been a motorbike up to now) so have never had to put this level of time and effort in to polishing a car but now I have a Silver roadster I have the bug. Thing is I don't have a bloody clue... really What is a clay and polish?? I gave it a wash and dry at the weekend but nervous about using polish on metallic car.... Can someone waste 5 mins of their life to go back to basics... (how embarrased am I!)
  11. I can think of a number of people who really could do with being replaced
  12. Did you collect enough evidence to make absolutely certain that it was clearly his fault? I wouldn't have mentioned it to him until I had personally. It was pretty obvious he was going to deny it and now you lost your chance to gather more evidence. If you have enough why not take it to a no win no fee solicitor. If it is open and shut case wouldn't he jump at the chance to take this one on and sue the other guy through civil channels?
  13. Sorry but stoopid newbie question.... You use these to push the tyres further out of the wheel arch for cosmetic reasons or is it to widen the footprint for performance improvement?

    ?

I had this and it was down to the tyre being nearly flat so the rubber was moving making the tick. They are that low it didn't look flat in the conventional sense. I know it sounds stupid but check your pressures....
  15. I have put it on watch just to see what happens. Poor seller is gonna wet himself thinking he has half a chance the watcher is gonna buy!!
  16. Doh, I thought long and hard before posting so I didn't make a proper plank of myself, did the research, checked the car and what happens... Make a proper plank of myself Wonder what was on the parcel shelf needing 4 wires and velcro then... Many thanks for the info anyway... Will go crawl under a rock to die of embarrasment...
  17. Hello and thank you!! Been trolling quite a bit but this one is bothering me so sorry to raise as my first post! The car was sold to me as UK spec and is an 07 Roadster. I will be looking in to the UK spec bit. In your post you mention the bluetooth adaptor comes as standard from 06 onwards so guessed it should have the unit under the glovecompartment and the cradle in the armrest. Neither of which I have, not even the square hole in the armrest where the cradle might have been removed. I would been happy to buy the kit as you show further down but it should be there? The butchered wiring is also a cause for concern. Has someone removed it and sold it you think?
  18. I have had a look around the forum and found some interesting stuff around the bluetooth situation but am very confused about some conflicting info/differences in spec for age and what I have in my car. I have a horrible feeling something has been taken from mine which is what is throwing me. I have 07 model but under my armrest I have nothing, zip, not panels nothing. Just nice small empty area. I thought someone said on a bluetooth thread that the cradle came as standard. Now is this slightly wrong or I have it wrong and was meant was the loom, mic, speakers etc came as standard but I have to install the cradle as showin another thread? Either way, I downloaded the installation guide and a couple of problems arise. Firstly I not seem to have the loose trim mentioned which seems to be a small square in the bottom of the armrest pocket? I just have what looks like a solid pocket? Secondly I looked in the glove compartment as indicated and two things strike me. The floor panel has a hole drilled in it and velcro on the top. I take it off and there is no sound proofing as indicated in the pictures... Third and worst of all I find 4 wires taped together using Black tape. I haven't had a torch on the underside yet but this doesn't look good. Looks like 2 blacks, a blue and possibly a blue with a white stripe. Would I be right in thinking this car has quite possibly had the unit here and someone has butchered it out? Why do I not have the loose trip in the arm rest area though... Very confused and lost I would post pictures but not sure how. Can anyone tell me where to host pics to link to please. Thanks in advance
