  1. Gonna purchase a kit from paints4u after reading a post , for a small stone chip on the front bumper  . But what I've noticed is some peeling of paint, on the drivers side 'skirt'. It looks a right pile of w@nk and there's the odd small one here and there. Question, is there a cheap fix for this? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. My renewal come through for £1370.00 from elephant. driving for 3.5 yrs, 3yrs nc. Couldn't get it any cheaper on go compare. It was £1150.00 last yr!! I rang them and changed the value of my car and yearly mileage, this knocked off 95.00. I then lied and said i could get £1300.00 for 12 month policy instead of elephants 10 months. They dropped it to £1200.00 for 10 months. W@nkers! I was almost prepared to accept the £1370.00 as well

  3. Had the megane f1 before my Zed and as much as I loved the megane, I would never swap my Z for anything, especially not for another frenchie :teeth: . I thought the 255 clio's looked like climbing frames if I'm honest. Zeds have the beauty of being good looking machines :yahoo:

  4. The car got a p1 service at 8k miles in 2008, p2 at 16kmiles in 09, and is now at 23k miles a yr later. looks like a p1 is due again according to the book, agreed?

So, what dya reckon total outlay should be for p1 service and MOT?

  5. Hi,

My 3rd yr service & MOT are due early June. My dealer Evanshalshaw have quoted £200.00 for service and £40.00 for MOT, this £240.00 apparantly covers all parts/labour e.t.c

    Is this reasonable?

    Cheers

  6. Guys,

excuse my laziness but hopeful of a quick answer....The door handles in my zed (i.e where ur window buttons are) are in a horrendous state, espesh the drivers one, scratched to bits....Rather than replace, i was thinking of wrapping them to tidy em up. I guess i won't need much, this is all i plan to do, unless it looks class n do everything :teeth:

Any ideas how much just for this quick job?

    Cheers

    Dave.

  7. In my last car (megane sport) Had tints all round, copper said either pull them off or 30quid fine and 3 points. Had a go and couldnt get the bastards off, whilst he ran checks on insurance and no points/no bother with police before, sweet talked him and in the end he said drive home with the windows down and get it off the following day. Just not worth the hassle. It looked a bag of @*!# with limo black rear and back sides, and clear class up front.

  8. Lots of reading up to do mate, hit up http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ for all the information you need. I would do a lot of reading on this subject, its not to be taken lightly. The Zed paint is thin and soft, so very easy to take off more paint than you expect which then means you need to have it resprayed :scare:

Studied the write up / guide about dual action polishers - a brilliant read and really helpful. I shall be making some purchases for sure.....Thanks for this.

  9. Actually you have totally miss-read me. Quite a novice, but always willing to try it myself. Any further info would be greatly appreciated - especially around the different products you have to use.

  10. Thinking of getting a rotary buffer to keep the z in tip top condition rather than throwing it in the paint shop

any recommendations / advice and what products to purchase to use with it?

    cheers

    Dave

  11. Clutch wont be under warrenty , but yes it seems that mosts zeds have a noisy clutch / gearbox . Mine was not that bad but my local nissan dealer are very helpful and have managed to get it all under warrenty for me. As for the clutch sticking to the floor, could be your slave cylinder, but i am not really sure. Pm ZEDMANALEX he was very helpfull and can supply all parts needed alot cheaper than main dealer.

    Hi buddy,

Can you confirm the right user name ? I tried to search but no match....Thanks for the advice.

    Dave.

  12. I've noticed a sound when the car is out of gear, but doesn't sound as drastic as yours...before my nightmare of locking the keys inside the boot on sunday, i was ready to pull away from traffic lights to burn off some fat bike but the car didnt move, the clutch pedal was stuck in for a few secs then eventually came down, clutch smell came afterwards....

its june 07 roadster with 22k miles on clock, would you guys sense that it could be on the way out? only happened the once and was fine for 160 mile treck yesterday and to work today.

how much for a clutch replacment and labour? the warranty runs out next month but this is wear n tear surely...

  13. im in guys, text removed by moderator

Keys were in the boot after all......if this is a new feature on new models (mine is june 07) a little warning to you all - don't be a dick like me.

EDIT removed text as perhaps not best to publicise how to get in to a zed

  14. I can only assume it has an automatic lock after being left for so long. I unlocked the central locking, opened the boot, then slammed it shut. left the car for a while then returned. I didn't open the doors at any point. I wouldnt expect the car to lock itself but there you go.

Keys aren't anywhere so gonna have to get a locksmith out. Just hope the keys are in the boot and some little thug hasn't picked them up off the ground.

Not in the AA but they want £250.00 up front.

Locksmith is around £100 plus vat.

The spare isn't in the house so must be in the compartment behind the seat.

    Complete dick I am
