  1. Guys,

Just looking to see if anyone on here is wanting to come along to a rolling road day at Ecotune Hillington on Saturday 27th September?

The guys on the Mazda MPS owners club are arranging it, and each car on the dyno will cost £35, all of which goes to a charity of our choice.

Let me know if anyone is up for it!

  2. Look forward to seeing it. Decided on how your painting it?

Been looking at the US forums and most use a Krylon Fusion paint. Never seen that over here, so will do a bit of digging to find the best paint to use. With it being a black car, i didnt want to go too dark, so i think a nice gunmetal/graphite would look good on the reflector, and gloss black shrouds (Or possibly leave the shrouds silver).

Going to do the dual Halos at the same time, so it will be different. Wish me luck

  4. Your fine mate! I've got wee dents from last year due to a crappy grit truck, didn't damage the paint so its the last thing on my list lol. Also some scrapes on the back (my fault) and I was supposed to have my exhaust on but it won't be done now til next fri.... its clean enough though  I'm def not missing some nice car action and a B&B breakfast :)

PS.I would have got tht fixed...looks an easy one too. My top part of the front wing was rusted due to damage...now you'd never know

He had damaged the rear quarter, the skirt and the door. After waiting for him to admit liability to the insurance, i put it in to get fixed. Everything bar the door has been done, and i also got the bonnet and rear bumper painted to freshen them up.

The door has a couple bad creases in it, and the body shop couldn't guarrantee a good finish. Since it was insurance, i opted for the replacement door! There was one in stock in the UK, however it arrived with a big bash in it, and a replacement had to be ordered from Japan! In the meantime i had polished it up to try and mask the damage!

I should make it along to this!! :)

  5. I was hoping my drivers door would be fixed for this, but sadly the replacement door has not arrived in the UK yet! I was reversed into by some tool in Tesco, and i insisted on the door being swapped rather than repaired! Its been on order for 5 weeks already!!!

Didnt want my car looking rough infront of all these lovely motors!! What do you all think?

  6. Im not sure who you are doing this with, but i ran one last year via Car Tech Centre. They do not specifically state that they sell the 600 model on the website, however if you send AJ an email, he will let you know for sure. He was very helpful and his communications were great!

  7. None of the other cars mentioned will come close to the MPS for value for money!

Ive said in another thread that ive owned two of them. First was an 09 plate facelift MK1 and later was a 12 plate MK2. I would highly recommend them, and throw around £1500 at one and you are easily at 350bhp. Any higher will require forged internals!

If you want parts in the UK, look at FR&R Tuning, and most definately avoid the company called Total MPS. Most choose to import parts from the likes of Corksport, JBR, CP-E and Edge Autosport.

If remapping you want to buy a handheld Cobb Access Port, and you simply take logs of your car, and email off to a tuner for an e-tune. There is one guy in the UK that is classed as a bit of a genuis when it comes to mapping, and has fixed cars that have been poorly mapped by some supposed good tuners. Plenty companies in the US that will do you an e-tune for not a huge amount of money.

  8. I don't think replacement 370Z RAYS are £250 mind.

Not from Nissan anyway. Could be wrong mind.

No not new for sure, someone said they got a set off ebay 2nd hand for £500 though! :scare: :scare: :scare: (too many??)

Think he means per wheel as the damage was on one side only, so one

front and one rear, even so still a bit cheap. :scare:

Was just a number to suggest how easy it is for that to be a write off. The slightest sign of damage, the estimator would just replace it! Repair value wouldn't surprise me at around £8000.

  9. The prices I fishy, but in regards to it being written off due to that damage, I could probably believe.

I know for a fact that a door shell costs around 600 from Nissan.

    Bumper £300

    Headlight Washer Cover £80

    Front Wing £200

    Door £600

    Skirt £400

    Rear Quarter Repair/Replace £800

    Front Alloy £200

    Rear Alloy £250

    Alignment £100

    Labour to Strip £500

    Labour to Fit £600

Paint Entire Side and Possibly Blend Other panels £900

Thats just a rough estimate and its already at around £5000. Im sure a dealer could find more to replace!!
