one thing that bothers me..........as you can see from the pic the 1st and last letters arent lit up as much as they were with original bulbs

has anyone got led's that light up the whole plate? if so wer do you get em from...??

  2. Thanks for nice comments

I'm fitting the a similar Kenwood. Are you happy with the facia adaptor fit and do all cables ie steering wheel controls work as they should?

Also would you mind adding links for cables and adapters used? Thanks

very happy with the facia adaptor fits, if im being picky one criticism is if i want to adjust the screen angle (which i dont have the need to) or eject a cd/dvd/mp3 the front can clip the facia - like i said thats being extremely picky its only happened once since i installed it. Also in the 2nd pic it doesnt look 100% completey flush - theirs enough play in the adaptor to sort this ...its now 100% in terms of flushness :)

The steering wheel controls works fine, remember the phone button wont work but the volume and change track works as it should, also the remaining button will change source.

these are the parts i ordered from sextons website, the guys really helpful

    ICT 50-256 - Nissan 350Z Pre 06 Double Din £14.95

    ICT 29-674 - Nissan 350z Bose USC Loom £32.99

    ICT 29-005 - Kenwood head-unit lead £4.49

  4. worked on a complaints team (director level) for a broadband supplier, we dished out loads of cash and still do (hint hint ;) ), the key to complaining is to inject a little humour into the letter - nobody on the team liked dealing with complete whinging assholes, people that have had bad experience/service and are nice about it get the most.

Also if your after a specific amount/outcome make sure you leave a hint of this in the letter

Whenever ive received poor service and feel it warrents a letter using this formula always gets a resullt

OK, I will give it a shot ;)

    Dear 350z-uk Webmaster,

I have been a member for over two years now and I have always and still find your website an absolute pleasure to use. It is well organised and full of useful information which I frequently rely on. If I encounter a problem, I know a whole host of members will readily offer advice and even a helping hand when I need it - unimaginable kindness and a great community ethos.

However recently, one of your members verbally attacked me and said I was an old b@stard. Now I have to admit I am a bit of a b@stard so he got me there but I still consider myself young at the age of 28 and found his comments to be ageist and hurtful. A set of Volk GTS 19" Alloys within the week should be suitable compensation for thsi unprovoked attack.

    Yours faithfully

    Cragus

  7. Sorry to hear the bad news mate, like many i and the family have been through much the same throughout the year, lost my gran to cancer which was incorrectly diagnosed last year, 5 days after my grandad passed away heartbroken - they had a joint funeral which was nice, seems wierd finding positives from a funeral

My old mans just had a brain tumour removed, thankfully on the road to recover, its strange cos now we spend more time together, watching football, having jokes, chatting about stuff, going out on the lash with the lads doesnt seem important anymore.

hope he gets better, will be in my thoughts

  8. See, I didn't think when defrosting the Z last week that when I got to a petrol station I wouldn't be able to open the filler cap as it had frozen solid. Took a few goes, but got it open eventually.

Just wondering whether people defrost around the filler cap during winter

same happened to me last night

  9. Just about to arrange mine. May well go to CS but if I can get a local deal like that it would be more convenient. Thanks for the ammunition B)

Worked for me :yahoo: . First I got quoted £240 for the P1 service and MOT. Mentioned the other deals that were around and got both for £150 at Colliers Nissan, Acocks Green.

    good work

  10. thats way too cool B) ......get a ipod like everyone else........

hopefully someone will be along to point us in the right direction, their must be a trick to it a i seen it done loads before

after a quick panic attack ive just legged it outside to check the sat nav picks up signal.....had it in a similar place on my old g7 celica assumed it would work the same on the 350.....thankfully it does :)

  11. thanks sparky, its handy unit with a quality screen...very happy with it

mounted the bluetooth mic on the right hand pillar, just slotted in near the airbag writing

the bluetooth box has been mounted behind the ac controls, gps for the sat nav is nicely tucked away "on" the cubby hole above the double din if that makes sense!

the ipod lead on the otherhand is dangling behind the pasnger seat atm  , how does everyone get it into the armrest compartment without cutting the lead?

  12. Firstly thanks to everyone whos contributed to varity of guides on ere  - without them i would have been totally lost!

Ordered the ict loom/double din adaptor/steering wheel looms from sextons monday, they arrived thursday, fixed it all together yday it pretty much took all day and it was freezing - not fun :cold:

Tips for anyone attempting to replace the bose with an aftermarket...

If your new stereo has 2 volt pre outs like mine (or less) - you may want to order the (PC9-460 RCA Line Level Booster) with the original bits to save messing around later - this is assuming you like your music loud, my dn7200 has 2volt preouts and isnt amazingly loud althou im kinda passed the stage of blasting the tunes so the whole neighbourhood can hear!

If you do decide to order the booster as far i can see it only accepts 1 pair of rca's.....unsure how this works? can somone advise?

Secondly, when unplugging the original nissan loom from the bose, its much easier to tune the bose unside down in order the access the clip that releases the plug (sorry if this is obvious to some but spent ages trying to remove the plugs and was getting seriously pi$$ed off - its a 2 second job with the bose upside down )

Lastly, trying the fit all those new cables/looms/rca's behind the new system was a nightmare, if you can remove any cabling that isnt needed the i recommend you do so, its a case to trying to stuff em any space you can find. Their is a void space a the top but its hard to get the cables to stay up their - if you have some sticky pads and can stick a couple of the white boxes in this space that may help - other than that remain persistant, and goodluck

i installed the Kenwood dnx7200 with bluetooth and Ipod connection,

Couple of pics of the final look...

  13. Don't think it is a deal.I paid same last year at the Wigan branch.

did that include rac cover as well?

I see from that link, they call it "level 1 service" is that the same as a P1 ?

i guess so mate - if it isnt then i would be extremely worried - i mean what else can they leave out....the oil

  14. Not that far away from me

    Good to know :D

ring around the chorley nissan branches (wigan/preston/blackpool/chorley) you'l be able to get them to price match/compete against each other, with a bit luck one closer to you aswell

How long is the deal on for, I live near Burnley,I think they have branch there?

yeh forgot to mention the burnley one(not on purpose ...honest :D )
