  1. that sun cure will def do it and will dry clear.

your prob right for what ever reason somebodys had a go at it. prob to try and put it on thier saxo

You're probably not far from the truth mate unfortunately. I'll see if I can get some of the Sun Cure, no harm in assessing how that will do.

Think I might also pop to a local bodyshop or two as srobrien suggested, as it's worth me getting a feel for what a proper fix will cost.

    Thanks guys :)

  2. just done a search and found this.hope it helps to fix your problem, i know its hard to find out but it would help to know if somebodys pulled it, or its happened frome wear and tear.

    InstructionsThings You'll Need:

    Fiberglass epoxy resin

    Plastic resin applicator

    Rotary tool

    240 sandpaper

    400 sandpaper

    Gel coat enamel

Step 1Determine the actual size of the fiberglass crack. Oftentimes, the crack is longer and deeper than what the eye can see.

Step 2Take a Dremel or other rotary tool with a tungsten carbide cutter that is not much larger than the crack itself and widen the opening slightly to determine the length and depth of the crack. Hold the tool at a 45-degree angle and make a small valley along the crack.

Step 3Work a fair amount of fiberglass epoxy resin into the crack with the plastic applicator. Ensure that the crack is completely filled to the edges with resin.

Step 4Let the fiberglass resin epoxy dry according to the manufacturer's directions.

Step 5Sand the area with a quality 240 wet/dry sandpaper until hand smooth. Once this process is complete, sand over with wet #400 sandpaper.

Step 6Apply an similarly-colored gel coat enamel or sealer to the repaired fiberglass crack area.

Cheers Mike, I've been having a real good search since I spotted it on Sunday. I thought the Sun Cure you mentioned might be a good start. I've found a few step by step guides like the one you posted, so that gives me a good idea of what's involved.

To be honest mate It was sat for a week while we were away holiday and I didn't notice it before then so maybe somebody has pulled it or grabbed it.

  3. Take it to a bodyshop, It will probably need re-enforcing on the inside with fibreglass or the like.

I think you're probably right, that might be what I'll have to end up doing. I was considering whether I could use something like Sun Cure Fiberfill initially and see if that prevented it getting any worse prior to getting it in to the body shop

  4. Ok guys, I need a bit of advice

I discovered a crack in my N1 spoiler at the base where it's mounted on the boot. It's not particularly bad but I want to do what I can to stop it spreading or getting worse.

I guess I need to find some kind of resin or something similar to do the job. Is there's anything out there which you guys can recommend I use to fix it?

  5. I think I will get along to the Cheddar meet. Could be a good day out.

Welcome aboard Greavsie, although I have a Chilli, I do think the 'Sunburst' is lovely :)

If the weather is is really poor on the way back home from picking the car up, please, please, please take it steady. I'd leave the traction control on and drive it nice and smooth as the Zed can be a bit twitchy in the wet, especially on the roundabouts.

Be great if you can make the Cheddar meet, there's quite a few of us going and it'll give you a good chance to ask a whole load of questions about Zed stuff :)

  6. Couple of pics taken by Blagdon lake, not very good as they were taken with me phone.

Just like to point out in the above Pic that magic84 and Vince are not admiring the beauty of the 3 Zeds lined up alongside the lake but are considering whether to dash across the road to the ice cream van

  7. good to meet vince and bockaaarck today, thought the drive was a great way to start the day, even if i did nearly lose it . a big thank you to bockaaarck for being our west country tour guide today :p . and i hope the drives become a common thing

It was a great little run out, really enjoyed it. That run down toward Weston, across to Cheddar then out toward Blagdon is a nice little trip.

Good to meet up with you guys, lovley looking GT4 Vince B). Got a couple of pics on the old iPhone which I will try and post up in a bit :)

  8. ha i was going to say the same thing with the lakes and cheddar. get a few photo ops in. which way were you thinking of going? A38?

Yes mate, A38 is as good as any other route. From Bristol down through to Cheddar, up the gorge then maybe back down. Head back to Churchill, turn off toward Blagdon through to West Harptree, Bishop Sutton, Stanton Wick on to the A37 back in to Bristol.

  9. Why not, might be nice to go for a bit of a scoot off somewhere, we'll have to get some route ideas together.

If we're meeting up at 9:30 for breakfast we can probably get out of there by 10:30 and have a couple of hours run out somewhere in the area

Flying back from Italy the day before so might be a bit weary but I don't mind going for little jaunt :)
