  1. change them white circles for black ones and you've got yourself a awesome ladybird design, Fairladybird zed maybe?

Shall i shut the door behind me?

on a seriouse note, cant believe people would actualy do such a thing, i agree bring back hanging. or chop off his legs and hands.

A ladybird design would actually be quite cool

It's frustrating and a right pain in the arse to be honest, but there we go, such is life.

  2. I see all sorts of damage every day and its enough to turn you paranoid about doing anything or owning anything nice at all. People just dont seem to give a @*!# anymore...

Im sorry if you get caught doing anything you should be made to do some kind of community service, litter picking, road building @10p an hour until its totally paid off and the money should come from this, not some poor sod working hard for a living. (F*&K human rights and all that crap they broke the law and lost them when the crime was committed)

If its any compensation I don't believe you need a new roof skin at all, of course its hard to tell from the photos for definite but it looks like the damage to your roof should be able to be fixed by a GOOD Paintless Dent Removal tech no problems. It would get your car repaired and back to you faster and certainly a better end result, the work that goes into a roof skin is quite involved so make sure you choose a reputable bodyshop if it does go down this route.

Remember with insurance you can tell them where you want the car repaired not where they tell you....

Thanks Craig, to be honest I'm not convinced it needs a new roof either. The only thing that concerns me is that there seems to be a slight 'ripple' which has appeared at the back end of the roof.

I want to go see a few folks, get some opinions and quotes but I had also thought about getting in touch with you as well mate. Having watched you carry out that fantastic work on that Mercedes a little while back I would be more than happy for you to work on the car.

I'll see what feedback I get from the bodyshops I'm talking to and then I may well be in touch mate.

  3. gutting to read this,

they should make the parents pay for all the damage, rather than some petty fine the court issues if it ever gets that far.

I wonder if you could personally sue the parents if the kids are found guilty?

Well I fully intend to let the police know I want a compensation claim added to the criminal case (if that can be done) if they actually take the case to court. The risk being that if the person / people who're responsible for the damage are unemployed, students or the like that may limit the chances of getting anything. However If they are students I would hope that there may be some opportunity for gaining some recompense possibly from their parents / guardians (although I don't think there is any legal basis or precedent for any such claim)

I have managed to scoot and get a quick quote done today, going to get a couple more. I quite like this as a potential paint job, would certainly be different :D

New spoiler as I think we could have all guessed......new roof as well now by the sounds of it :headhurt:

  4. Man thats horrible thing to come out to! You are lucky coppers seem to be interested and they got leads... can you put a gate or something on your drive? I'd be gutted... absolutely gutted...

The police seem to have a number of leads and as my car wasn't the only car damaged that hopefully means they have a decent amount of evidence to get someone. To be honest it's down to a quick thinking neighbour hearing what was going on and calling the police so quickly that they have managed to get on to things straight away.

I live right in the centre of town and unfortunately we don't have a drive or a garage. There is residents parking which is what I use, sometimes outside the house, sometimes along the road a bit, depending where I can find a space. I'm going to look in to renting a garage if I can find one near and which isn't stupidly expensive.

or even get a car cover mate... so the drunk fecking hooligans cant actually SEE your car... wish you luck man!

Cheers mate, I'm willing to look at anything to stop this happening again

  6. Cannot believe what has happened :scare::scare: animals is the only thing that comes to mind

I know the area where you live and it is a fantastic place but this must be Students.

I do hope this sorts it's self out and you get a result mate :thumbs:

Thanks mate, I'm sure I can get it sorted ok, it just not what you need is it. The spoiler is totally knackered so first things first is to check with the traders on here and see where I can get a replacement from.

    *bloody students*

  7. glad to hear it put a smile on your face mate. i will ask around tomorrow at work for some good bodyshops as a few of the guys at work used work in some.

Cheers mate, that would be much appreciated. I have to get 3 quotes for the work, so if you or the guys know somewhere good, point me in their direction. I'm not too concerned about the money side I just want to find somebody that's going to do an A1 job.

I am going to see one guy on Friday if I can but suggestions for any other places are more than welcome.

And thanks to everyone who's posted and understands the how pi**ed off I am about this

  8. Oh my God! The little sh*ts! :headhurt:

So sorry to hear this. Who knows, could have been another little sh*t who started the first crack.

I know of a very good Bodyshop local to me who does excellent work. PM me if you are interested in further details.

Cheers for that Choptop, as per usual the Insurance company have their preferred body shops. Any info on places near you that you'd trust to do the work wouldbe great.

  9. You despair in the knowldge that the litle scroats, if found, will just get off with a ticking off.

Just when is this country going to wake up to the need for real deterrents in place to stop mindless vandalism and other crime, which should include the parents for their failure to drum in right from wrong and to start disciplining their off-spring.

Really feel for you Bockaaarck and the pain you now doubly have to suffer to get the mess sorted out.

I agree mate, it's about people having to take responsibility for their actions and accepting the consequences. In an ideal world that should then be followed by provision of opportunities for people to make amends. Allowing them to learn something from their indiscretions so that they don't take a similar course in the future and society benefits as a whole.

Or is that a stupid idea?

  10. lack of respect in society these days, my guess is a couple of drunks on the way home thinking its funny.

so sorry to see this hope it gets sorted, and they find the twunts and make them pay.

I think you're right mate, few beers too many, someone has a bright idea, ends up costing me a half a dozen other folks a load of time and money.

If the Police believe they have a firm case I will make sure I indicate that I want a compensation award for the damage caused to be considerd . I may not see any of it but its the principle of it at the very least.

  11. it really winds me up, why do they do it? i seen the damage first hand today, but only the spoiler i admit, and couldnt belive it. ( when i droped of my homemade spotted card :p) .

i really hope they find the little s@#t's and make them pay for all the damage caused. sorry to hear this mate

Got the card mate, at least that put a smile on me face :D

Just have to get the quotes for the work and get on with it now really. Just hope I can get a decent replacement spoiler and get the roof sorted. :(

  12. Sorry to be a kill joy but some little shytes decided to pour pva all over my car a year ago. They went to court and got fined £20 each!

Yep, I'm not holding my breath for any compensation coming my way. If they are unemployed or of they are students the chances are they won't be able to pay for it, maybe they will pay £1 a week for 10 years or something stupid.

I don't want to have to pay anything for it, and I don't feel that I should. However the money side causes me less worry than the stupidity and selfishness of it. The hassle of having to try an get quotes, talk to the Police, talk to the insurance company (who have also been pretty good so far) and all the rest of is what frustrates me.

  13. i would end up in jail if someone done that to my car, luckily mines is locked away from the chavs in my garage away round bk of my house. if i left it street i reckon this would happen within a few nights

I was talking to some of the guys at the Piston Heads meet in Cheddar about trying to get some garaging, but It's bloody expensive here. I think I mentioned something about it being a couple of hundred quid a week but I meant per month.

I think I'll have to investigate getting one, as I don't want to get this all fixed up then have the same thing happen again a few weeks later.

  14. If you find out who they are, get them to lie on the floor and run over them until they cry for mummy.

    What comes around goes around.

Indeed, I had considered the option of tracking them down and shooting their face, in the face. Sadly I think that kind of behaviour is also frowned upon in polite society

( I wouldn't take that course of action or advise anyone else to either of course)

  15. Not cool

It's my pride and joy and when you've invested time and money looking after something and this happens it's very annoying.

    - Fixed

Know what you mean though, someone keyed my car all the way a long one side, some people just don't give a crap about other people's property.

Hope it's not too much to get sorted out.

Thanks for fixing that, you're right, it is my pride and joy

  16. Got home from the Cheddar Pistonheads meet on Sunday (great day, really good to meet folks again :D ) and parked the car up, went for dinner with the better half and had a very chilled out rest of the day.

Worked from home Monday and Tuesday but I needed to go see the Doc late Tuesday afternoon. Went to go get the car and discovered the minor cracking problem in my N1 spoiler had gone from this:

    spolier2.jpg

    To this :headhurt::angry:

Looks like some 'oiks' ran along a whole line of cars, left a right trail of damage, early Monday morning. Fortunately someone spotted them and call the Police. I've been down to see the Soco folks today and they've worked their magic on it so now its a case of waiting to see what happens with the evidence they've collected.

They've gone up the bonnet and over the roof, leaving two fair dents and it almost looks like the roof has 'rippled', on to the spoiler and off. To say I am displeased is somewhat of an understatement. I know it's 'only a car' but when you've invested time and money looking after something and this happens it's very annoying.

Still the Police have been really good so far and it looks like things are moving along. Now I have to go get some quotes for getting the roof done and spoiler sorted. What a pain in the a*se

  17. What a great day, good to catch up with you again guys and some very enjoyable motoring. Captain, you car is really looking great with those mods, very nice indeed. Have to say that Magic's zed was looking very shiney, top cleaning effort there matey. Nice to meet Ian and your mate in the Evo, cracking looking car.

As has been said already, some amazing cars there today, with the Diablo and the TVRs getting the thumbs up for sheer noise as far as I'm concerned. The White 'thing' is a K1 attack manufactured in Solvakia I think, crazy looking car. Big thanks also to choptop for meeting up at the services and to Pimm for guiding me over the Kerbs and gravel as well as the scoot up the gorge and a smashing cup of coffee :D

Nice one guys, really enjoyed it :teeth:
