  1. Thanks guys. The following replies on the other thread have got me thinking it's too high though... "Got mine a year ago and paid 12k for an 06 GT with 32k on the clock." "Paid £8000 for my UK spec 54 plate sunset GT with 39k on the clock 6 months ago" "I paid £14.5k for mine a few weeks back. 07 GT Coupe with 22k" "Paid 12800 for 05 GT with 25,000 on the clock FSH with loads of extras" "i paid 15k for an 18month old UK GT with 12.5k on the clock. that was 2 years ago"
  2. Starting to look around for a 350 now. Was originally thinking of just looking into them now, and buy around Xmas, but am struggling to hold out Can't seem to find many around at what I want though.. I'm after a GT coupe, 05 or 55 before the tax change in April 06, under 40k. I was hoping to get this for around 11-11.5k. Especially after reading the "What did you pay for your Zed?" thread. The nearest I can find around me is an 05 GT, Silver, with 30k, but it's on at 13.5k. It's from a dealer, but not a Nissan dealer. That price seems a bit high to me, but like I say, can't see much else around. What do you guys think? Cheers Steve
  3. Thanks again for all your replies guys. Would just like to say what a nice bunch you seem - without wishing to blow smoke up your ar5es! Makes a nice change from a lot of other forums. Looking forward to joining the fold ASAP! Thanks, Steve
  4. Is there that much difference with the updated interior? i.e. are 56 ones a lot better than 55s?
  5. Cheers for the replies guys. Anything other than costs of running it mate? Suppose practicality too?
  6. Hi Guys, Currently own a CTR but will be changing to a 350z some time before Xmas. One thing I can't seem to find the definite answer for (and sorry if it's here somewhere, but I couldn't find it) is car tax. Am I right in thinking all 350s before April 06 are on the 225 pounds a year car tax, and all after are 400 pounds? I'll be in the market for something around 55 - 56 plate. But think I'll stick to 55 if the car tax is going to nearly double.. Thanks, Steve P.S. If anyone else has gone from a previous shape (mine is 05) reg CTR to a 350z I'd love to hear your opinions please
  7. Hi Geoff - welcome to the forum from another newbie. Love your car mate, it is pretty much exactly what I wam after - colour, age etc. Would you mind letting me know the details please - mileage, cost etc. PM if you'd rather. I'm just trying to get an idea of what decent ones are going to cost me at the moment... Also a current Honda man, CTR. Cheers Steve
  8. Cheers Nixy. In all honesty, does it feel quicker and a step up than the CTR? I don't mind the extra outlay, but would be disappointed if it's not noticeably faster..
  9. Nah, my misses is more in the "Do we have to be so close to the car in front/why are we in such a rush/please don't overtake this car" bracket...
  10. Thanks for all the replies guys. This seems like a very friendly forum I do about 8-9k a year now, so hoping that running costs might be a bit lower than the Impreza? Hopefully that will work out at only one service a year, and the front tyres should last longer than they did on the Subaru.. That's the logic I'm using to get it past my wife anyway!
  11. Hi Guys, I'm currently looking at moving up to a 350z and have joined to find out as much as I can about them before taking the plunge. I had a original Impreza Turbo about 8 years ago, and loved it for it's acceleration and grip. Didn't like it for it's thirstyness, service intervals and general running costs. When I bought my first house I sold the car 6 months later as couldn't afford both at the time. A few cars in between, I moved on to a 05 reg Civic Type R. I've had that for 4 years now, and it is the best all round car I have ever owned. Personally, I don't think much else can get near it for value for money smiles per mile. It's pretty quick, reliable as anything, cheap to run, economical, practical, great really. However, I'm now getting itchy feet, and can afford something a bit nicer. What I'm after is something that is quicker than the Type R, looks a bit less "boy racery", but won't cost the earth to run. I'm hoping the 350z is it! Look forward to chatting to everyone. Cheers Steve
