  1. oh, what I ment to add is, can it be confirmed by chasis number if it is an import or not...I did a search on 'chasis number' nothing. just a litle more to add, its a 2004, GT model, Rays wheels, BOSE system, orange leather, all clocks are mph?? I don't have the log book back yet...would it say anything in there? the insurance (admiral) pick it up as a 350z, not a fairlady z...as they did with a import I used for quotation purposes.

  2. Choked air filter?

Mmmmm I will check.. I have only had the car a week or so, has no problem accelerating to 120, as fast as I expected, will def chek.

I don't think it will have been chiped/final drive swaps, it was owned from new for 6 months by a guy, then for the next 4 year driven by a woman...I can be sure of this as her husband had a GT-R and prior to that an NSX..this was her run around  I'm not ruling it out altogether, just didn't seem the kind of folk to do that...the car is very much OEM. heres a picture of the dials..I know what you mean by the bezzels..but they dont look fat or thin to me???

Cheers for your help so far all!!!

  3. Hi all,

I get to around 120mph, on private roads off course, and the car seems to start to struggle, the needle climbs very slowly after this. I read that some imports are limited to 112mph, which shows as 120mph on the clocks. I'm convinced mine is a UK model, thats what I bought it as, the service book has uk dealer stamps dating back to 05, the car was registered in 04. First question is - is this normal for a uk Zed? If not, how can I check if my car is UK or not? If it's an import, how can I de-restrict the top end?

    Thanks in advance,

    Col.

  4. I mate, I was looking into the same thing, two options emerged from my research:

    a home made mod:

    http://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video ... ide-5.html

or a FM modulator, I bought a Denison FM modulator from ipodcarkitsdirect.co.uk, which I haven't installed, Denison claim its as good as there gateway 100, which there is no compatible model for the BOSE...I bough a Denison gateway 100 for the missus, worked great...if the FM modulator isn't up to scratch...use the 30 money back guarantee...do the home mod..that's my plan.

    Link to modulator:

Probably not the cheapest...but having used Denison before..I don't need to worry about the quality.

  5. Hi mate,

I'm doing mech eng degree part time, on mi last year. Try freestudy for the more basic stuff....www.freestudy.co.uk its a site more dedicated to NC/HNC, I used it when I did my HNC, but some topics from HNC to degree do overlap, pulled me out of the sh@ a couple of times. If you are in need of ref books I find the Schaums books the easiest to understand, there a no nonscense approach, underlining the core points of a subject, they cover nearly all mech eng topics you will ecounter. I have some E-books on my work PC, if you give me your email, I can try to send them, depending on size.

    Best of luck with it!!

  6. All's well that ends well :) Mine was on a private plate... Usually a sign of a wealthy owner who's looked after it ;)

Can't help but notice the front bumper is lighter than the bonnet/wings... Has it been resprayed? Hopefully less noticable in real life?

mmmm, I hadn't noticed that...dont know if it has been resprayed, not so noticible in the flesh. The previous owner never mentioned any work on the bumper...but it looks that way

  7. I've had mine for over 18 months now, its the first version. I think its a user friendly, all rounder, with possibly the most versatility/compatability with other electrical gear. I think there are more focused phones out there that will do certain things better than the IPhone, but to be fair, I will be upgrading to the 3GS shortly. one thing to bear in mind is that you cannot let apps run in the background (not the ones I have anyhow) for instance, I stream radio alot, everytime you want to use the phone...you loose the radio!! I guess this would be the same with the nav?? also...if you intend to run your ICE with the IPhone...I doubht you could use the nav at the same time..or vise versa.

  8. Hi all,

My oil pressure guage is always reading off scale >120psi, its the same when ignition is at pos 2, i.e. to get electrics on, and when engine is running. The oil level is mid way, so its not excessive oil. The car runs sweet, temperature always below mid way and its quiet, so its not blockage. It must be an electrical fault? I only picked the car up last night, drove c.200 miles with no issues, guage at max. how can I check the guage, I guess its a volt meter type using a pressure transducer converted afterward to analogue? I have a multimeter, how do I get to the important terminals, what should I look to register? has anyone had similar problems?

    Cheers,

    Col.
