  1. short trips like that can lead to the condense in the exhaust and rocker covers not to dry the most important thing is look inside the oil filler cap if there is any milky substance or thick grimy oil the engine needs an oil change quick. As for the exhaust you will never be able to tell but when you look under the rear of the car don't be surprised to see surface rust on everything these Zed's for some reason don't hold up like most cars.

  2. I first wanted a coupe but test drove a roadster near me for sale I could not believe how good they drove and as the guys say no flexing or rattles anywhere it took me a while to find a nice example but I finally found one and in the 3 months Iv'e owned it I think I have had the roof up a handful of times.

  3. Welcome Ben :welcome:

What you are are looking for that one has none of it only has half leather and no Bose sound system it's also cheap because it's a Japanese import and in my opinion would steer clear. If you want all the extras look to buy a UK model it should have all what your after although you may have to pay a tad higher it's a buyers market at the moment so don't rush into anything and have a good look around and get advise on here.

  4. I've been meaning to post for a while about a few noises with the car that ideally I'd like to get sorted at my next service in a few hundred miles, but could do some help identifying what the possibly could be! They're as follows:

    Noise 1

This is just a bit of cabin noise really. It comes from the passenger door at around 20 - 50mph on rougher road surfaces (must be the right resonance i guess) It's kind of a monotonous rattle, but if I press firmly on the plastic of the armrest (i.e the bit with the electric windows switch in it) or the bit underneath it, the noise stops momentarily.

    Noise 2

Every morning, when I initially start the car and hang a left out of my road, I can hear a momentary sound of grating metal that seems to come from the front passenger wheel area. It's nothing too drastic, and after that it doesn`t happen again until I leave the car parked for a bit and make my first 'full left' turn again. This started happening since I had my new clutch fitted, but that could easily just be co-incidence.

    Noise 3

This is the most recent one, and most annoying. I think it might be bearings, but I'm no mechanic. Basically it can only be described as a dull throbbing sound that seems to come from the front driver wheel. The sound speeds up and slows down with the car and seems to be in time with the rotation of the wheels.

Any that's it! I'm really just hoping maybe some of these are recongised issues or people have had them before and can shed some more light. Thanks in advance for any help!:thumbs::thumbs:

    Hi,

Nr1. You didn't say if your car was a coupe or roadster if it's a roadster the chassis will have a little bit more flex in it probably causing the door to rattle not sure about the coupe though.

Nr2 check your inner wheel arch is not rubbing on the tyre on full lock or put on full left lock then look under the car to see if the tyre is touching anything.

Nr3 It does sound like a wheel bearing a quick check is jack the front so the wheel is off the ground get your hands round the back of the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and see if you have any play in the wheel then try 12 and 6 o'clock and again see if you have any play in the wheel, failing that take the car to a garage that you know they should be able to tell.

  5. I seem to remember a while back while I was looking for a Zed a silver one a like that being advertised with a new engine because the car was driven through a brook (small river) and the engine had sucked up water!

in any case I believe if something is too good to be true steer clear

  6. he's not talking about the lights at night reflecting he means the pods are reflecting in the glass :bangin: the dash may have been polished with a gloss dash product I prefer the matt ones as I hate glossy dashes they look tacky :)

  7. just purchased Megs Gold Class and NXT Generation Car Wash for the price of one and tried the Gold Class first your right plenty of suds even after washing the car and it dries up a treat with a very nice shine.

thanks everyone for the info.

  8. Valet Pro PH Neutral Snow Foam

    Snow Foam Lance

Hard to beat if you ask me ... Megs wash mit and two buckets of water to get rid of the dreaded grit ... :)

I know about all this gear but sometimes I just want to get out there with a quick wash'n'dry :D

  9. thanks for all the info, Zugara I know it's not the suds that clean the car it's just it seems like I'm washing with just water if you know what I mean. Looks like I'll go buy the Megs Gold and get two for one that should last me for a while. :D

  10. I need some advise about car shampoo's I have been using Turtle wax car shampoo and Carplan shampoos for my vans but to be honest I think there crap! in the bucket the shampoo's are all suds but by the time I get the water onto the vehicle it looks like plain water with no suds at all. So on my new Z'd I want to try Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner and Halfords are promoting 'buy one get one free' so for £15.99 I can have two :D my question is does this product get nice suds on the car so I can see I'm actually cleaning the car

  11. Hi,

Make sure you have breakdown cover for abroad and take you logbook with you if the car does break down and needs to be brought back on a trailer or recoverey vehicle they need the logbook to get the vehicle back into the country.

  12. I think your looking in the wrong places to be honest, I had been looking for months for my car on here and pistonheads most were over priced on both sites your best bet is Autotrader. I considered some advertised on here but they seemed overpriced then the seller would rather let it go to a dealer for trade price than sell it to someone on here for trade

  13. my mate works for BMW he drives a 5 series with BMW Assist written on it which I pay an annual fee to on my wifes BMW his job is the same as the AA for BMW owners only he regularly goes to keys locked in probably 5 a week he knows how to open any BMW and Mini without damage you should never need to break any glass to gain access.

  14. it's a sports car so my opinion should be manuel box an auto will never be as responsive as the manuel unless it's one of the new autoboxes out with double cluches like the new 370z :D
