  1. I have nearly new RE050's on mine and it's a waste of time in the snow. the slightest incline or a bit of deep snow and i'm out digging!

I've managed not to use it while we have had snow over the last day or two but tomorrow i have an interview for a new job. It's not going to look very good if everyone else make it in and i can't even get there for the interview but I'm really not looking forward to get the zed out. :surrender:

    Chris.

Makes you look like a bit of a rag an bone man - but this is supposed to work and should save some time digging...

Stick some bits of old carpet in the boot. If you get stuck jam it in front of the tyres. As they turn they will pull carpet under - carpet should grip due to larger surface area and alow you to pull the car out of the little dip it has dug itself.

Keep crawling (remember to change up to second as soon as you can to avoid spin) going till your on a flat bit - then go back and get carpet on foot.

Im going out to carpet our road now...... :bangin:

If only i hadn't taken all them carpet cut offs to the tip the other month! Luckily my mum lent me her car so the zed is still safe on my drive. I'm sure i will have to use it again soon though so i'll try letting my tyres down and see if i can find some old carpet some where.

    Thanks for the advice.

  3. I feel your pain I use a hire car for work so have one most weeks. We used to use Hertz and as a 'Presidents Circle' member I was supposed to get a one class upgrade but it rarely happened. We now use Avis and I keep getting awful 207sw's so I feel like i'm on a school run or fiat bravo's which usually have a 1.4 turbo engine with 150bhp but very skinny tyres and no traction control!! In wet it can get very interesting at times!

They also used to chsnge there cars efore 15k but now i've seens ones with over 30. After that much abuse many are in a right state.

  4. All,

I have been reading the forum for quite a while but never really needed to post anything. However today when I was driving home from a weekend in Wales I had a problem.

The car had been sat for the weekend but started fine. After about 20 minutes the Malfunction Indicator started flashing and the car started running very very rough as if it was only running on 5 cylinders. I looked up the warning light in the manual and it said it was safe to drive (i had little choice anyway as no phone reception and miles from anywhere!). The car limped on with 5 cylinders with the light only flashing when the engine was under a bit of load from (gentle) acceleration or inclines. After another half an hour the car started running fine again although the light stayed on, so i managed to get home OK.

I've had a search and can't find anything similar. I don't have a fault code reader so can't post the error code but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    *Update*

Ok so took the car to the dealer this morning and the read the faults codes. The only error recorded was "P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected". Now they said that it was very difficult to do anything now that the car is running fine again so they reset the ECU and suggested i wait till it happens again and take it in then.

You will have to excuse my limited technical knowledge but does anyone have any suggestions on what this may be? Coil Pack? Crank sensor?

    Once again thanks in advance.

  5. My 2003 UK 350 has developed the 'click' from the rear left.

Will this be covered by warranty even though the car is now 6 years old and the original warranty has expired? If not how much should i be expecting to pay a dealer to rectify?

    Thanks,

    Chris
