  1. Another thanks from me for this, used the dimensions to purchase a new battery after my Halfords one died after 7 years of use. I also went for an Exide battery from Click Car Parts, and based on their advice I bought this model which I can confirm does fit (although it was a bit of a tight squeeze getting it in!) - Exide Premium 77Ah 760CCA 12v Type 067 Car Battery EA770. It's nearly identical with the Bosch S5 0008 in terms of Ah /CCA and at time of writing was £67 delivered which I thought was a bit of a bargain.
  2. I had exactly the same problem, in the same area - rear wing by the filler cap. Seems like a common issue on some of the older Zeds. Got a number of quotes from local bodyshops - around £250 for a quick fix, or £500 to do it properly, as described above - cut out, treat and weld in new metal, spray and seal. On the basis of recommendations and experience from others with the same issue, I went for the latter, more expensive option as I wanted a long term solution. This was last summer, the bodyshop did a great job and I've not had any issues since. I'm based in Southampton and used the bodyshop Pitt-Stop Garage.
  3. Car back from the bodyshop, and they've done a great job. Looks like new. Lots of underbody sealant applied too. Hopefully will last for many years to come. Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
  4. Just to add to this, my 04 plate is also suffering from rust bubbles on the o/s rear wheel arch, in a couple of places. I got a number of quotes from recommended local bodyshops who both quoted me the same - 250 for a cheaper, filler and spray job, or 500 for a longer lasting, proper cut out and weld in new metal job. The first option felt like money down the drain if it's going to come back in a few weeks/months. So it's in this week for the proper albeit more expensive option.
  5. Will be there Saturday in a mates Mondeo, 3 of us going so not enough seats to take the Zed!
  6. Old topic I know, but thought I'd post my experience with a particularly loud and annoying squeak coming from somewhere in my dashboard. After months of stuffing bits of foam into various holes around the dash and windscreen, with no success, I happened to notice one day when poking under the bonnet that the battery was slightly loose - and low and behold, as I moved it slightly, a really annoying squeak appeared! Tighten up the bolts, and apply a bit of grease, and low and behold, squeak has gone. Amazing how the noise travels into the cabin - I was sure it was the dash making the noise. Now if I could only get rid of the rattles...! May not be the solution for every squeak, but could worth checking out just in case. Hope it helps out someone.
