I tend to supply certain bits to the garage myself, not just because it saves money but because I can select which oil etc I want. Specialists will have the good stuff in anyway, it's the other 'run of the mill' garages that I would personally supply my own bits to.

Anybody know anything about the H&R super sports? Tried by anybody here? According to the advert they give a bigger drop than the normal sport springs.
-
Niko did you get the black smoked plexi one off eBay?
Got a link to that one at all? I can't find it.
-
This is why I take my shed saxo to the shops!
-
Agreed makes a huge difference (probably not the best example).
Wasso out of interest, is the suspension different on those two pics? Or is it like for like? Looks good though.
-
Can't seem to see any replicas anywhere.
-
I think it looks quite good. Considering some of the horrendous looking ironing boards that are available for the zed. Loads of threads on the American forum about them.
-
How about bigger wider heavier wheels would they not do the same
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I expect if you track your car it could be an issue, but you would probably not run spacers then anyway.
I thought this too, and I don't plan on tracking the zed.
Interesting views on the topic. People warned me about using 30mm spacers saying they were too big blah blah, but now alot of others run them with no problems. I wouldn't mind trying 35mm or 40mm.

I ran 25/30 and it was completely fine. Driftworks quality is fine by me unless anybody has ever had any issues with them? They have always been reputable as far as I know.
Obviously new wheels with the right offset is better, however I was wondering of there was any definitive sizes to avoid.
-
On my last zed I had a set of 30mm spacers made up by driftworks. They spaced out the rays nicely. Now I'm pretty sure I was the first person to have these and I had no issues with them whatsoever.
Driftworks now list spacers for our fitment up to 55mm. Is there any definitive size that is just too big and would cause problems?

Anthracite or shadow chrome will be what I go for more than likely.
-
I don't like the blue on the standard rays at all really. But blue brembos sounds good
-
Agreed, if you were going to go down that sort of route you would need a flat colour anyway. I'll be sticking to the 'shades of grey' colours so to speak!
-
Gunmetal it is. Possibly shadow chrome. I may try those rim protectors.
-
What's the offset on these?
-
Polished lips and azure centres
Couldn't be bothered to paste in a chrome lip but you get the idea. Looks better in my head and would probably look better in the flesh with the right shade.
-
Ah yes rim protectors. Worth a try but I agree the gold brembos it clashes.
-
The best thing to do is if you are unsure just have them refurbed and painted gunmetal. Get the stripe in vinyl as a taster to see what it will look like then if you are happy with it have it pinstriped in the correct colour and size. That way if you don't like it just peel it off. A bit of messing around but would solve your problem
That's a good idea. Might have a play. But otherwise I'll still go for the gunmetal finish.
I agree with Colin (must be getting old) more than 2 colours on a wheel looks awful!I've always thought that to be honest. Just playing with ideas.

I'm not convincing myself tbh!

Thanks wasso, I may have a look.
Ebized, I agree it would be too much with the nuts added on, I would leave them silver.
Another very sloppy photoshop with a thinner line. More like a pinstripe.
-
The more I look at it the more I don't like it. Maybe the right shade of blue could look better.
@wasso: I thought I recognised it
-
I'm going to get my rays refurbed and spaced in the next few weeks. I'm having gunmetal as I think it looks good against the azure. However I'm toying with the idea of a blue lip. So lets have a few opinions on a VERY quick photoshop I knocked up.
Just gun metal:
With the lip:
Don't know of this is a forum members car?

Right, me and the 'team' have drawn designs and completed all the relevant paperwork to send off in the post this week. We should hear whether we have a place in the race by mid April.
If I can get hold of the designs from my mates place I will post them up.

Just bought some new H&R super sport springs from a member on here. They are supposed to give a bigger drop than the normal H&R sport springs. I'll get some pics up when they are on.
