Ooopppssss looks like I was wrong, and misinformed...
I take it all back!
this subject seems to have been covered several times... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26820&hilit=renault

Goatboy - the elise actually looked okay but I did'nt see the back of it - if there is anything probably a new back bumper repair and exhaust?? Easy to fix just pop into any bathroom showroom and order the spares! (he he sorry could'nt resist!)
Lol, bit of superglue and some t-cut it'll be fine!
Problem is they don't have bumpers, the whole rear section from doors backwards is one piece of fibreglass and not cheap to replace, add in new exhausts ,some suspension wishbones, rear subframe and a wheel or 2 and they are written off quite easily...
-
So am I right in saying that the engine used in the 350z is a true Nissan engine?
Nope, its a definately a Nissan engine... I never said it was renault, honest!!!!!!
-
the thing about the elise is when it goes it goes big time. You have to very fast and very good to catch one once its going... but it takes quite a lot to get it going in the first place...
poor Elise driver though, probably wrote his car off!
-
its quite easy to spin an Elise....
If you are a muppet!!!
All depends how much power he had but spinning anything on a motorway is quite a feat.

Quite a few of us then!
With this horrible weather I am definately leaning towards waiting on spring before getting back on/in the water.
Chris, I can't see your photos at work but do you take paying customers?
-
done it off the back of a boat quite a bit Love it!!!!
Do lots and lots and lots of squats over winter
and climbing for the grip strength
Grip strength is the killer, my wrists were killing me after my last set of lessons!
-
I've not done cable yet either, just a few lessons off boats, but its an expensive way to do it so I was thnking of moving on to the cables.
Would love to get to warmer climates to get some more experience but it seems unlikely at the moment...

Afternoon all!
I was just wondering if there are any wakeboarders on here?
I've recently had a couple of sessions and its great fun (although seriously hard work) and I can't decide to keep going through the winter or to hang up the board until Spring and work on my fitness in the gym.
Wondered if there were any seasoned pros on here with some advice or anybody who use thorpe or Princes cables I can get some tips from?

sounds good, park stuff is the best too!

What tools you got?
I commute to work on my bike a few times a week, nearly put more miles on my bike than I do my car...
-
you've had it nearly 2 years and not noticed the lack of 17bhp. I wouldn't worry about it.
just drive it
-
I made a mistake the car is actually a 2005, and has a full Nissan service history.... Will that help prove the car is a uk car if I have a look through it?
It has cruise, headlight washer and rectangular plates so is almost definately a UK car. (unless someone has spent a lot of money making it look like one)
-
I agree prices have gone up, from 6 months or so ago by about 15-20% back to where they should be, but in general you can pick up a 350z gt uk model, 40k miles on the clock in good nick for around £11-12.5k from a dealer.
The car is meant to be a Uk car....you thinking it might not be
Anyway wish me luck i guess! great news on it not being lowered!
When I was looking a couple of months ago you would really struggle to get anything with that mileage that cheap.
I saw one for £12.5k but it 50K ish mileage and a bit of a dog if I'm honest, everything else was £13-14K.
I went private in the end for a much better deal.
However I go off topic and it doesn't matter, looks like a nice car, but yes you will have to declare the Nismo kit, and the rays as although very common weren't standard so I understand...
Hopefully as they were Nissan options you shouldn't have to pay too much more...
-
much better in Ie6 now too!

Daft question but are the heater controls different in a JDM? Do you have a picture of them?
-
There is obviously a lot of people who know their stuff on here but many times I have had a computer not start up its been the memory has become unseated, always worth having a go at taking it out and putting it back in...

I'm 31, 9 years NCB, and no points living in West London and my policy was about £550 with admiral. (Car 100% standard, + GF on the policy). Chris Knott could beat the price but only with a higher excess.
£650 sounds about right really. I noticed my insurance dropped a little once I turned 30...

I would be intested in one of these pedals too!
Brake and accelerator just too far away from each other in the Z!

Depends where you live too on how good FM transmitters are.
If you live in London (or any large city I guess) there are so many radio stations that there is virtually no empty frequencies. I have a Belkin transmitter and its virtually useless in London as there is so much interference. out in the countryside it works fine though (although not brilliant).
