This is why skinning is more suitable for parts such as interior. Notice that how many small complicated and inter locking fixings there are for the interior? Something like this is near impossible to hand make out of carbon or FRP which is why skinning the original part is the best solution to ensure best possible fixings. Some parts may even interlock so lining up is important. By skinning you do not change any of these aspects. Had parts like this be made purely out of carbon you'd either have to fabricate or come up with your own method of fixing or risk it flapping or moving about. Things you must know about skinning It does make the surface stand out more than normal by approximately 2-5mm +/- Overlaying carbon to your parts will make the part much more rigid and harder so some flexibility will be lost

I forgot to mention that these can be done in different colours such as silver, red/black, blue/black, yellow/black, red, green for an additional cost. Regarding exchange based service, I am reluctant because there are many variables such as -we may receive a part with broken fixings or marks which the next person may not be happy about receiving -I do not know if everything is exactly the same between imports, UK and other models of the Z's. -Some people have have additional or less features such as alarm lights, fog light switches, buttons etc... located in different places -Not every one may want the entire kit done so we will be left with some partial loaned parts or not a complete set for the next customer -If I have 10 customers wanting this done at one time I won't be able to provide 10 sets to loan out ... and so on... However I can understand that not every one would like to drive around with missing interior parts for 6 weeks so maybe we can arrange some kind of discount lending or renting of parts from our breakers?

well ive worked out that its a 4-5 week turn around and im going to price based on limited number of items on sq meter. so something like this would be in the region of £550 + VAT I'll do some number crunching in the next few days. I have also gone against the idea of swap parts whilst because not everyones parts are the same or wanting the same thing. Rather let people send us their parts and i send it back when done.

im gona do this to a z in january

here it is. All finished. All apart from 2 small vents which I can live without skinning because they where such a PITA to do it was not worth the aggravation and the silly man hours to do those parts. I'll probably get a chance to fit this some time after xmas.

Good head unit for its price. Better than the ebay crap at the same price range. But only get it if you have iphone 4 series otherwise all you have is a fancy satnav.

Yes, we sprayed Stacey's wheels and door handles in shadow chrome few weeks back

Matte red is ace! Especially when combined with aggressive bodykit and wheels. Would look awesome in combination with black parts. Please PM me for quotes. We can help advice on best colour/kit combinations. In regards to the gloss parts on matte cars, it is a normal practice in the industry. All matte everywhere works but it can also remove the stricking effect of matte colours. Gloss on the other hand, underlines the difference in finish, goes nicely with other glossy parts like tinted windows, door handles, etc. At the end of the day all up to individual taste

Looks like a pretty poor fit to be honest. Did they cut the carbon lip also? We have had to modify some lips previously to make them fit, but not carbon ones. Carbon fibre is made of layered materials and will not cut neatly. If they had to cut anything and you were happy with the result on collection then fair enough. Unfortunately that's not the case. Did you try asking the body shop to rectify the problem? Or at easy asking if they think they can try to do a better job?

Few more pics if nobody minds

Ive posted some more pics in our thread. Enjoy http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/45209-rt-p-body-shop-and-rt-p-productions/page__st__60

Doubtful we'll make one specific for the Z but if it helps we can can cut if down for size for you ant an added cost as we do have Nismo bumpers here? Everything cracks if you hit a kerb. You shouldn't worry about strength because though made of fibreglass it still takes some beatings from rocks and scraping. The APR ones are carbon skinned surface and rubber trim at the front designed for aesthetics not strength. Even they will shatter if you hit a kerb. The difference is your wallet is going to hurt more when it happens. We went for option 4.

Thanks but we've spent enough money on R&D and passed that now. They're ready for production if you're interested in buying one? got your PM Neil. Sending you some pics.

We do already have something similar to the voltex spoiler which our track customers use for function over style. If you pm me your email I'll send you some pics. As for the APR, you'll find that our under tray splitter is proven to be more superior than a half semi circle cut out.

So after a few test runs and a few tweaks, Marco had a great run at Circuit Park Zandvoort. In fact he did so well he was thrown out of his class!!! His feedback was: Yesterday I was kicked out of my class, because I was driving too fast! The splitter did a great job!In a certain corner I first drove 69km/h on gps, now it was 89km/h!, with no problems! The car feels great now in corners!Especially in fast tricky corners, like Scheivlak. It is an high speed corner to the right, that also goes downward.Check it on Youtube if you want!I am very pleased with the splitter!Great job!! So there you go. If you're into track events, this IS a must have for your car.

so I've finally started taking off the interior bits off my car. This is what we're going to have skinned in carbon. Watch this space because if this works out. I'll be doing it for the Z's too. Ray

After being busy so busy working on other people's Zeds (Adrian I'm looking your way mate ) I finally go a minute to uprgade mine a litte New set of Berks And 19" Rotas, to be finished in gloss black Doesn't look much compared to Adrian's endless upgrades we've done, LOL
-
Stacey, I'm glad to see you're loving the car. It has definitely been the most striking Zed we've completed. You're absolutely right, no pictures can transfer a real impact the colour has For those who's wondering, this was a full colour change respray, I'll post some pictures of the progress later on this evening.

Ive not seen any hydrogrpahics which look real though. All just looks like a budget phone case with rectangle grey blocks. But than again I've seen some really impressive prints like brushed alu and wood effects.

Thats the only issue with covers. Becaue it's not made off an origional part but a mould of the origional part, you depend on the mould to be exact for it to fit the same. Carbon is very rigid. Bend it too much and the surface will crack. Make it thick and strong and it will not bend at all. But with skinning, it'll require removal of the part and a few weeks waiting process. Taste wise is questionable. Quite a few sports cars have carbon in dash so if skinned well, it does give an expensive OEM look.
