  1. Fibreglass, carbon and PU.

In terms of quality it really depends on the the manufacturer.

We personally prefer very low front lips to be made out of PU because it can take much more abuse then fibreglass and carbon because they have a lot more rebound and less brittle.

However again depending on the manufacturer. We've helped fitted many lips made in PU and most people's impression is that PU is fantastic in fit but that's not true.

Fitment can only be good if the mould and product out of it is made well but being made of PU you do have the ability to heat and re-shape certain edges which you can't do with fibreglass and carbon.

One other thing about PU is that there are many rubbish productions out there being made so thin that they droop and sag. As you can imagine, at speeds this causes it to droop and drag on the road and I've seen many being shaven away.

Worst case is if they're so droopy it's impossible to paint because the hardened paint will just crack away where it flexes so much.

The quality between fibreglass and carbon again is dictated by the finish of the fabricator. Most fibreglass products are finished in a raw or primed form as the body shop is expected to do the prep and paint work for colour matching.

We offer the choice for a black gel finish on certain parts so that painting isn't required and can be fitted straight on.

In terms of strength, the carbon is much stronger compared to fibreglass with the same density and a lot lighter. Hence the cost I suppose.

But remember with carbon, though stronger and more lush, the top coat is of a shiny brittle resin which cracks easily.

Something to think about when choosing.

  2. Some of you may have seen this already as it was done in our old unit.

The car was to undergo a gloss piano black finish on the roof, boot lid, A pillars and door handles.

Flushing the holes on the bootlid from the old spoiler and de-wiper.

This is to tie in the look of his new carbon bonnet with bonnet catches, carbon spoiler, front lip cover and brows he wanted.

  4. As far as we know, we're the only UK seller selling replicas.

You should be aware that our's are not of the normal direct replica of CS. We've made many improvements and had gone through many moulds to get our CS rear bumpers to fit this good.

In a nut shell ours is by far way better fitment compared to the original CS.

  5. Price wise I'd agree with BBK.

And like tez162003 said. If you want a cheap zed then why not?

Cat C's aren't that bad. If you have decent car knowledge and willing to inspect it, you may find your self a bargain.

Many people don't know that loads of jap imports fresh from Japan are written off cars or cat C equivalent.

If repaired rite and so's the price, why not.

  6. We all know that the 350Z has a pretty decent sound system already. However this customer wanted more.

The idea isn't to just change the head unit but to change all the speakers and wires for a greater peak power all round but keeping things hidden... apart from the sub. :)

What we have here is a shopping list which consists of:

    Head Unit:

JVC KW-AV60BT Double Din Media player

    Front Speakers:

    Hertz ESK 165 6.5" 200 Watt 2-WAY HI-ENERGY COMPONENT SPEAKERS MIDS TWEETERS & CROSSOVERS

    Rear Speakers:

    Sub:

    Pioneer TS-W260D4 8" sub 1200 Watt

Custom 8" sealed sub enclosure under rear brace.

  7. Ian,

I don’t want to get involved in a war of words on an open forum or anywhere. What has happened has happened!

In the interest of fair play we at RT are prepared to rectify and make good any work that you have thought to be our failing. We would therefore like you to take us up on our offer and hopefully this situation will resolve itself to both parties satisfaction. I can assure you the work will be done to a standard that you will find more than acceptable. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope you will accept our offer.

At the end of the day I would like to think we are all mature adults and as adults any situation can be worked out.

    Taras
