She probably commented on how filthy your car is
Makes a good match then

Of all the things that I thought would delay my car being finished, I can safely say that an Icelandic volcano was near the bottom
Yea probably wasnt the most likely thing
Im just glad i wasnt planning on going on holiday

Only just caught up with this Nah wouldnt bother mate, really doesnt look good...
Got to say the white and black combo does work well.
-
My OEM connector from the throttle receiver wont plug into the new one but the new connector will plug into the male end of the fixed receiver on top of the throttle pedal very strange
Is the connection completely different? or are the pins just not lining up properly?

I have vinyl, not the carbon one, on the bottom of my bumper and it does get scratched up a fair bit, but like Rich said just get it redone after a few months.

could be interested in one of these from the next batch.
Just one thing though, I have read the entire thread and cant really get an idea on wheather or not it would be a bad thing having this AND the UpRev Re-Map from Abbey. Will I get the benefit from the tune in the higher range and the benefit of this from launch and will they work together with no probs?
Cheers
Well the difference between your car now and SP7 on the throttle controller will be quite a diference. When you have your remap done there will be less difference as the 100% WOT will be more significant. Im not saying it wont make any difference just not as much as a zed thats not had a remap.

All cars can be broken into mate, im afraid thieves have a lot more tools at their disposal than just a brick and crowbar. Doesnt matter if your car is a corsa or a 100k+ Ferrari they will get in and 90% of the time without setting off any alarms.
Just keep everything either out of the car or at least out of plain sight.

ahh ok, didnt think you were that crazy but just checking

Ok folks, PLEASE SEARCH for further info before asking questions. Many topics are covering UpRev tuning and it's results with various mods.
I'm sorry, Stew, but I've been searching for a while now and found lots of interesting information, but not the answers to the questions I posted. It is not clear in all the threads I looked at whether or not there would be any gains by re-mapping a standard engine with no significant mods (except the popcharger). All of the threads seemed to concern people who had a lot of mods on their cars first. Also, though I seem to remember a thread which suggested something about the re-map removing the JDM limiter, I can't find it at all now.
Here you go Jim:
http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=27916
this was simply in the Abbey motorsport section. Theres also a thread called uprev for dummies where a forum member has had his done recently along with all the questions you asked, answered.
But yes you will feel a difference as it opens throttle 100% and also smooths out the torque curve. You wont get much in terms of numbers but the overall driveability will be MUCH better.
Your JDM limiter can be removed also.
For someone who asked about the EPR Throttle controller, this does not give you 100% throttle, it merely sends a signal to the ECU to tell it that the throttle is further down than it actually is thus making it feel more responsive.
Hope this helps guys, im not an expert but have read enough on here to know that the Uprev is a great modification to purchase, from everyones reviews its a no brainer if you have the cash ready.

I know what your saying bennet in regards to getting certain bits to fit, an "end connecter hose piece" are you saying this is why it would cost £150?
-
If the price is right mate then count me in, although im pretty sure this could be done DIY very cheap, £150 is crazy.
-
Right...things seem to be going well...
what i need to avoid is you guys slating anyone... yes its a disaster but they are sorting it! and i dont need to be in more trouble over this.
Just a thought, but you might want to delete the majority of your posts, and possibly the entire old thread as if they really are looking on here they will see that you instigated a lot of it.
Thats not a dig at you by the way, but if you really are worried about comments on a public forum then its common sense.
Glad your getting things sorted though mate its been a long time coming.

And just when you thought it couldnt get worse I would ask for a cash exchange for the car, let Max power and the garage have a legal battle and keep yourself out of it. Not sure how you would go about it, but after all the hassle its got to be viable?

I hadnt kept up with this topic since my "car friends" post! This is hilarious, although it does remind me of this story i saw:

Car Friends!
So whose who then?

no lights come on and i dnt feel the car being stopped by tcs, i can can tell when it does it. just feels boggey like its not delivering power correctly, ive got slight concerns its not engaging gears 100%
thats strange, the sound you describe is the same as i get if its wet and the tyres are cold.
Wouldnt a gear problem be apparent through the feel of the gear stick?
-
Second point might be the TC kicking in, if your approaching at speed and down shift you obviously cause the back end to be alittle unstable, TC is bringing it back into line and this prevents you accelerating fully.
-
did they quote you the £8900 knowing that its Cat C or D? or was the car never actually given that status after the accident?
no status, just had a bump and needed headlight and bumper ...illl get full lowdown when it all checked out monday, but least it wasnt written off ....helps me a bit!
sell that thing before it blows up Seriously webuyanycar would be the best place for it
-
i dont have to keep the car now, i have told them i may not be keeping it. its not to my satisfaction of a show car therefore wont wana be showing it.... but i may still keep her.... could the number plate being where it is be the reason for the horrid smell when i accelerate?! over heating??
sooo much to do!
burning smell when accelerating???

D1 Spec Throttle Controller
in EPRacing
Posted
Sorry for the late reply, you wont have the D1 spec controller fitted as yes the remap is done through the same connection. As said previously this unit doesnt effect WOT only the remap can do that, all this unit is doing is making you planting your foot more efficient by sending a greater distance that the pedal has traveled than it actually has to the ECU. Hence why on setup it needs to know when the pedal is normal and flat to the floor.
The reason im saying it wont make as much difference after a remap is that having 100% WOT in all gears will be more significant than just this untit sending the signal that the pedal is or isnt further down than it actually is. Dont get me wrong it will still make a minor difference but not the same as with a stock engine (not re maped)
