I was always unimpressed with the delivery in the CTR, was in a mates which was around 220 - 230, abd it just didn't feel quick..... I can't explain why, it just had a serious lack of drama about it. But no doubt a Supercharged one would be LOOOOOAAAAADSSS of fun!!!

Well love em or hate em, the RX8 was just as quick round the Top Gear track as the Zed. (that episode was on Dave a few weeks ago....) I really like the Rex, i just don't like how common they are in Edinburgh. The price attracts me alot, but i've never been 100% in the know on the oil / Engine situation. I have heard from a few places that they need rebuilt after around 90k (or is that a complete lie?????) Either way, very very nice cars. (Didn't know they revved till 9k either!!!)

Yeah there's more than a few folk on the AOC site with 300Bhp+ VXR's.... Seems that all they really need is a stiff suspension setup and an LSD to try asnd eliminate the wheelspin as much. Still, cracking looking motors... I'd own one over a Golf / Focus / Megane / Civic ANY DAY.

I had a lend of an Astra VXR for a weekend and was less than impressed when compared to the CTR i was driving at the time....... A little less power or more time spent on developing a nicer chassis and it could of been a very good car IMO. Nah, have to say i agree with you there, it seems that Vaux were too bothered about being the had of the class Bhp wise, and forgot about how it would affect the handling. Personally i dont think its as bad as made out, but eh older shapes seem to handle the power ALOT better..... My astra Coupe was in the regions of about 260bhp, and apart from on very tight corners, it coped very well for a heavy FWD car.

Two words recieved from the insurance company..... WRITE....... OFF.......... One word that springs to mind.... ZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thing is though, these cars really don't handle as bad as they make out on the TV shows like Top Gear / 5th Gear etc.... For normal driving, with a bit of B road sprinting, they are actually pretty capable cars, there just sh!te compared to cars like the Zed that have exceptional handling.... I've always been a fan of the Vauxhalls, and even though i'm aiming for a Zed very soon, i think i always will be

If it were me i'd have just got one of the Gas conversions done to the z.... pretty much double your mpg, and you get to keep the car! But abarth's are cool....

Extreeemely good advice there. it does sometimes confuse me when people show the options they have on a forum, I've always thought it being better when you just randomly put up the completed pictures... always seems to get more of a response than if we are all waiting for it? (if that made any sense at all?)

The Astra VXR is a cool car.... The 'Ring Edition looks pretty good, but i'm not a fan of the graphics on it... I was quite disappointed with the Corsa VXR, i remember having a blast just after i got the Coupe, and completely left it for dead..... Its a good looking wee car, and no doubt it'll eat up its competitors no problem at all (Fiesta ST, Polo GTi, Etc etc.....) but i'd certainly not buy one.... I can completely agree with "lilsheepshagga_turbo" i think my Astra's in the regions of 260bhp, and it don't half fly on the strights!!! Remappiong of this engine is now getting rediculous, there's a company called Red Dot Motorsport, down in Enfield. I was booked into there to get an "agressive / Hi Torque" remap not so long ago, but couldn't get the time off work to go. They were only charging the lads for the Astra Owners Club about £250 because of the sheer volume of folk going, and evenbog standard cars (pretty much with just an exhaust and air filter upgrade) were getting in the regions of 245 - 260 Bhp. He reckoned he'd easily get mines above the 300 barrier, but it'd probably mean strengthening the turbo sooner, rather than later..... Went on a bit here!!! Bottom line, good cars for the market they are up against... (they have also released a thorney motorsport 300bhp Astra VXR-R which claims to do 0 -60 in 5 Secs) I'll find a picture and paste it in here...

Still haven't heard whats happening yet.... I wish they'd just make up there f*****g minds!!!!!!!! (and i didn't actually think i could jump that high!!!)

I think this is still the only car i'd buy before a Zed.... I've had loadsa Vauxhalls over the years, and the Z20LET Engine found in the VX220T (and my Coupe:)) is a great, and very tunable engine! Already seeing more and more cars creeping well over the 300bhp barrier without too much hassle..... Amazing cars, but i think i do too many miles to have one No way could i afford two cars, but if that day ever comes........

Love this car..... Fell in love with the Monaro a long time ago too... They can be picked up for about the same as a decent Zed now too, but the running costs are faaaaaar to high for me Alot of car for the money though!

Best quote i have had whilest looking for my Zed is from my current insurer, Bell. I'm 24, 0 points (but have had 6 in the last 5 years) 2 claims (just onto my 2nd) so 0 NCB, and managed to get £768 (CHEAPER THAN MY BLOODY ASTRA!!!!)

Yeah you could say that!!!! luckily it happened where it did though, an hour or so later i'd have been on a motorway........ Doesn't really bare thinking about!

Was on my way down south at the start of the month.. 2:00 am, on the A7, car full of luggage and people, about 55 mph (on a 350mile + trip in a ZLET, you'll understand why!!) Bonnet catch decided to go bye bye. At first i thought... ****..... then thought, ah, it'll just need a new bonnet and windscreen.... so after EVENTUALLY getting the recovery vehicle out, and getting dropped back home just before 5, it was getting light, so had a better look at it....... Roof... fuc*ed Side Wings.... a wee bit fu*ked Bonnet.... fu*ked Autoglass came out a few days later, to hit me with, "Na, canny fit that pal, yer roofs f***ed" Been told from the garage, and about 3 other folk (two of which are recovery drivers) that due to the roof, it'll be a write off.. Car's value, 2.5 - 3k (if i'm lucky!) Damage estimate from garage - 3.5k But for some reason the insurance company still seem keen to fix it, although its been put back on hold while they look into it further..... Here's a few pics. (i particularly like the one of me jumping on the bonnet to flatten it back out....) side of the A7 On the truck FLATTEN YOU C*** Roof Damage.... If they decide not to sort it, they'll clear my finance, allowing me to have a 350z in my life alot sooner than i'd expected!!! I'm trying not to think of the alternative
