  1. Yep, its absolutely fine. I actually think mine "feels" at its best running Tesco 99 - although I am sure thats probably all in the mind!

Having said that I have always been put off by "supermarket" fuels and always rated V-Power, but since I had no choice but to put a tank of Tesco 99 in I have stuck with it for a good few months now.

    This is worth a read : http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuning/Fuel_Test_Results_Update.shtml

Interesting read actually  thanks for that

  2. I used it this weekend for the first time and I can confirm I can feel absolutely no difference to Optimax whatsoever! But I imagine it would be difficult to see any difference only using the 'ass dyno' for measurement

My car has an uprev and was mapped on optimax if that has any bearing on things...

  3. Id personally put the stock 06 box on with a panel filter for performance over a sound improvement + looks i guess.

Yeah... where is the best place to get hold of one from?

The Popcharger is a particular brand of CAI made by Jim Wolf Technologies....Stupid name really isnt it!

Just thought i'd clarify so you dont think we're all weirdo's for referring to all CAI's generally as popchargers

    Cheers for that...

and for the record, I think you are all weirdo's for reasons OTHER than just the pop-charger thing ... :p

(Obviously including ME in that statement!)

Yep I couldn't agree more!

  4. Mods! :teeth:

Whats been done to it so far

    HA HA ....

Like I said, I am not too fussed about mods.

It has a CAI (or "pop charger" as you lot call it for some reason!)

Would I be better off taking this off and swapping it for an 06 box?

The cotton filter is FILTHY, so I suppose I should change it really.

Other than that, it is standard.... oh, I stuck an S2000 aerial on it... stolen from my previous car :D

  5. Very quick one...

I had a popcharger installed but sold it and have replaced with a K&N panel filter.

Should I take the battery terminal off for 30 mins or so now I've changed the filter or is that not necessary?

  6. just a question, but do you lot like your cars?

why are you using anything that has stuff in the name!!

i've got a gt4 model with brembos, changed all the brake hoses to goodridge, changed all the discs to ebc turbo grooved and pads all round are ferrodo race ds3500, no clicks, clunks are anything!!

i've been modding cars for years and have always had problems with @*!# stuff pads they say they are low brake dust pads coz they just dont stop you!!

we've all got really good cars on here so why skrimp on the one of the most vital parts, the brakes, my advice rip them out and put something in that will work and not something that just looks pritty!!

sorry to sound nasty but i drive fast and hard, so brakes are very important to me, i've had no problems, and can stop on a six pence.

hope this helps and hope this doesnt affend anyone, if it does im sorry

In my experience so far the yellowstuff have been great apart from the reverse clunk which must be down to the shape of the holes in the pads as mentioned earlier and actually has no impact apart from the occasional noise when reversing.

I dont think they take away from the performance of the car at all and definitely enhance the brakes over standard pads, stopping power is very good with these pads and there are a lot of happy yellowstuff users on this forum so I wouldnt class it as scrimping at all, they do work and they do stop you well....

  7. I've got yellowstuff fitted front and back and they do exactly the same thing!

Local garage refitted them and confirmed they are fitted correctly but they still do it....

I've just been ignoring it but it's always a bit of a concern when it's brake related!!

  8. Looks like a really good job

Can you not tell that it has been done at all when you look at it? I always feared that either the paint would be damaged or there may be some slight warping to the arch shape or something like that
