Alas, my Z went a while ago - updated the list for you.

  2. Had a few goes of it and tried out the simulation handling; not sure if that was there in FM3? Either way, feels awesome now. Do agree it's a little odd that they lost out on the Porsche license? But some of the changes in the game especially lightning engine make it look sweet. Trying to wrestle an SLS around the Top Gear track with just ABS on is a nightmare with my fat fingers but hella fun!

  3. Nah I agree with Ekona, Hamilton seemed distracted from before 130R. Yeah JB wasn't too far down the road ahead of him, but he could have been a lot closer because lets face it, he wouldn't exactly hold him up on a flying lap, and could have benefited from the tow anyway.

  4. Would you go for a K2 or a scorpion then?

scorpion has a lifetime warranty, the k2 doesnt.

Japspeed are good about sorting problems however, despite the exhausts being a little inconsistent. I had an entire system replaced after a fault with the tailpipes on a K2. Still, if your considering a new exhaust I'd really suggest saving up a few more hundred and plump for something like a Buddy Club if you want loud, they ooze quality.

  5. Thanks Lee! When it comes to tuning, only thing I really want to do is exhaust tbh. James @ Picador was kind enough to fire up the other 3 R8's they had for sale which had a range of different mods so I got a little demo in the flesh of loads of options. Wortec switchable system is the one for me! :p

  6. Biggest one for me atm is the rise of HGV's blindly following satnavs down tight country lanes. What a palaver. Also, I have experienced the phenomena of someone driving 20mph+ below the speed limit on said B roads, and yet taking massive offense when you overtake them in a safe manner. Can't quite fathom the thinking there...

  7. Alas, Maria has been chopped in for an aussie lady. Hopefully I can still pop along to the odd meet, as I have enjoyed the rides out in the past!

This forum has been invaluable during the ownership of the Zed, and really going to miss that level of support for the R8. However, having started to use Falcon Performance, I know I'll still be in safe hands there, so all good!

Also, thanks again to Al for taking the time to show me round his VXR8 which ultimately made my mind up. Wish I could have taken his off his hands, but got a great trade-in for the Zed at Picador in Southampton on a 57 LS2 which was more within budget. Marginally excited now, roll on 1st of Sept! :yahoo:

  8. Al kindly showed me around his car and gave me a passenger ride as I've been leaning towards chopping in the Zed for an R8. I can confirm that this car is absolutely pristine and a beast to boot. Can't quite believe how much more refined the interior is compared to the Zed. And if you think the sound of the youtube clip is good... trust me, in the flesh it is pure devil music! :cloud9:

Thanks again Al, good luck with the sale!

  9. Rather enjoyed that race, bless the weather! Shame for Lewis, but Button fully deserved it.

Got to agree with captain above, both Brundle & Coulthard have this habit lately for looking away from the tv feed it seems.

Also, penalty for Lewis was a little harsh I reckon. He actually avoided an accident with the Lotus/Renault (whatever it was!) by getting off the racing line sharpish. But yeah, he could maybe have done it a little differently!
