  1. I accidentally hit one of the stereo buttons on the left of my steering wheel. now the stereo has a mind of its own and is getting above its station! (like what ive done there?)

every now and again the volume cranks itself to a million and some posh radio 4 voice starts telling me the news in longer words than i care to use/understand. The display comes up with 'NEWS' much like the traffic announcement function. I have checked the owners manual to try and decipher how to turn this stupid function off but its a little over complicated. can anyone tell me a simple way to remove radio 4 from my life once again??

    thanks in advance boys!

Don't worry, as you get older Radio 4 will grow on you...

I'm on the lookout for a radio that has just ON/OFF, Radio 2 and Radio 4 buttons.

    Also a Zed cardigan... :disguise:

  2. Took 'er of the indoors out for a longish ride in the zed the other day.

Good - She found the rattling dash noise that has been driving me crazy.

Bad - She criticised the ICE sound quality, said it was c**p (yes, I know it is) !

She has no reason to complain now when you upgrade the ICE ;)

Yes, but I'd already upgraded it :bang:

Sounds like you need to upgrade the Mrs..

  5. Hi,

I have a pair of used Bridgestone RE050A 225/45/R18 for sale. These are the front tyres for 350Z's.

They are not to be confused with the rubbish RE040's that were fitted as standard to the majority of 350Z's from the factory.

As I'm sure you are aware the Bridgestone RE050A are fitted to Ferarri's, AMG Mercedes, Porsches' and other high performance vehicles, so they are a top quality tyre.

The tyres have between 5mm and 6mm tread remaining, no puncture repairs, and are both structurally sound.

Brand new you would be looking at £140 each.

I am offering these at £120 for the pair...

PM me if you are interested - Collection from Bedfordshire.

    Cheers and Beers

  6. toss it in the fire  when you've heard any other aftermarket system it shows up the flaws in the so called "bose".

mine skips aswel, i've stopped using it now.

    you can either...

open it up and fix the skipping problem

open it up and do a tape deck hack giving you jack to plug your ipod in (R35LEE can do this for you  )

    replace the headunit

replace the whole system, head unit speakers amps n all

Or do the tape deck hack and install a car PC in the rear cubby...

  7. CF 3 or CF Auto is what I have installed and it looks pretty smart. I am new to all this and seem to have picked it up okay with a few pointers from Chris' I

I have managed to modify the boot screens to display the NISSAN logo (thanks Nurrish!!) but still get the small 'Windows is starting' and 'Windows is shutting down' messages which is a slight pain but a minor niggle.

Nurrish, what do you mean by a cut down version of XP? I have disabled all the Boot / start up applications in msconfig and got the boot time down to 32 sec...........bloody slow in comparison though!!!

Try using "Hibernate" from CF instead of Windows shut down/boot up, much faster.

  8. I brought an ex-demo 08 coupe with 9k miles on the clock. They changed out scratched drivers door armrest. The only thing I feel a bit miffed about was that the tyres on it were a bit low on tread. Think they had been passed on from car to car. Anyway I have changed them for Falkens.

    No other issues so far.

  9. As Andy says, start at the bits by the seat and work backwards. You cant do it in the wrong order as they all overlap, so if you find a panel you cant remove, find the one that overlaps it and take that off ;) Go easy and use a trim removal tool, its all dead easy to do when you get going

    "trim removal tool"...

Is this different to a screwdriver ?

Maybe something for me to buy...

the pains had subsided as had the swelling and guarding on that side. and the pain was very localised to where the appendics is. it may well have been inflamed but not appendicitis. they mentioned it could be a grumbly apendics. bit like their grumbly owner.

I was taken in to hospital with the same symptoms as you. After starving me for 3 days with the only food a biscuit (not sure if it was a RT), they sent me home. A grumbling appendix was the diagnosis. Forty years have passed, and no recurrence (yet)....

However, a bit wary of sailing round the world single handed... :boat:
