  1. I'll start waving then, 1 in 5 is disappointing though!
  2. This is a bit of a long shot... I used to have an old A4 with a bose stereo. The speakers were 2 ohm and the amp had a stupid line in level - like the 350Z. With this in mind... Would an Audi Bose stereo (or any other brand of Bose - e.g. Porsche) be a straight swap into a 350Z? I'm guessing there are lots of other issues I've overlooked, bluetooth, wheel controls etc. etc.
  3. When I drove my Impreza any other impreza with a bonnet scoop waved at me and I quite happily waved back. Why don't Z owners wave at each other? They're a lot rarer than Subarus!
  4. It seems they do it for MG's... http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=244899
  5. Hi All, My car needs the full geometry doing, I normally go to Lichfield imports in Tewkesbury who are excellent and well priced. However, I'm in Manchester this weekend and have some time to kill on Saturday. Would Lockwood and Greenwood be worth taking it to? If not can anyone recommend another place? I appreciate there is every chance I won't get an appointment but no harm in trying. Thanks Chris
  6. I'll keep running mine up and down when it works to see if it improves. I imagine there is a loose contact somewhere. Has yours caused any problems yet with the window dropping to close the door? My biggest fear is it doesn't drop and the glass isn't lowered and then someone slams the door. If I can find a solution (motor/switch/relay replacement) I'll do it straight away, just need to pinpoint the exact problem.
  7. I've got the exact same problem. However, it's temperamental, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. You can hear the relay clicking from both window switches (you can't when the window is disabled). It still seems to drop and rise with the door opening though (so far). Any help is appreciated. I assume a loose connection or some sort. Cheers
  8. I don't think so. From what I can remember there are the following pieces: Back box > Small Pipe > Another pipe about 1m in from rear of car. It's the connection between small pipe and the other pipe where the crack is. I think removing the flange and putting a stainless pipe over and welding would be a good option. Just to confirm - would it be a 2.5" SS pipe I need?
  9. If anyone has one they want to sell drop me a pm. cheers Chris
  10. Yep! It's split just before the mid-pipe flange It's quite rusty so I doubt it can be welded - or can it?? I guess I could remove the flange and put a SS sleeve over them both? If not I want to make the replacement as original as possible, after my Subaru's prodrive exhaust I want something a bit quieter. Are there any recommendations other than OEM? Is there a cheaper OEM equivalent?
  11. Hi All, I finally managed to find a car and I'm a happy bunny. 53 plate with black leather, sat nav, rear parking sensors and bluetooth. It needs some paintwork touching up but nothing serious and that was all factored in... She has 4 good pilot sports, tidy interior and 43k. Anyway.... One thing I noticed during test drive was a noisy exhaust, I thought this is noisier that the others I've driven but thought it was perhaps because the window was down etc. I wasn't overly bothered because I got a good price. But driving it today it is beginning to get on my nerves a bit (and I'm used to a prodrive exhaust on my old subaru). Could it be due to a hole? It doesn't sound like it's blowing, but then I may be wrong? I wouldn't expect it to need a replacement after 43k? Anyway.... Are there any mods the previous owner may have done to make the exhaust noisier? It looks to be completely standard but I wondered if he could have perhaps by-passed a valve that is supposed open over a certain rpm (I know you can do this on the BMW 330i to release a bit more noise). Any help is appreciated. It's a great car but just too noisy and I normally like noise!
  12. Thanks for the responses. Could be the previous owner then... You mention that 2005 models ironed out some of the previous problems. Do you know what month in 05 that these "more reliable" cars were produced from? Cheers
  13. I'm looking for some advice from people in the know! I'm currently looking for a Z, and have been looking for ages for the right one at the right price. Anyway, I've noticed two 54 plates and there are subtle differences, different rear lights, different front lights and different coloured front reflectors. Could anyone let me know if there were any changes around 2005 that would explain these differences!? Cheers
  14. When compared to other cars, £13k seems very reasonable for an '05 with low miles from a specialist. This one is an S-Tune so should command a premium? Does anyone know it's previous owner(s) and has it done all 23k on a track!?
  15. Is there a lot of demand for them...? I prefer the rays and am thinking if I buy a car with GT4s could I make a few quid on them and replace them with Rays?
  16. Hi, I need a bit of advice please. What sort of price would you expect for some mint GT4 Alloys without tyres? A rough guess is fine, I've tried searching and looked on ebay but I guess they don't come for sale very often. Ta.
  17. http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Det ... eriv=34036 First face lift model was 17/02/06. Therefore there is a month window when the new model is lower tax band!! Will be like finding a needle in a haystack!
  18. Cheers for the answers. The tax hike comes into effect on all cars registered after 23rd March 2006. Was the 'facelifted' model available for sale before 23/0306?
  19. Hi all, My 1st post and after looking through old posts I can't find the answer so apologise in advance if it's been done to death. Basically, I'm looking for a Z, preferably an 06 model. I was wondering if you can get an 06 model (with the updates and 296bhp) that was registered before 23rd March 2006 so it has cheap tax? When was the facelift introduced? Cheers
