  1. Is it worth finishing the 'power tuning' before a remap. I'm not looking to go mad at this point, stage one kind of stuff (straight-through exhaust, cold air induction, ecu chipping, etc), but I do wan't to maximise the power output as cost effectively as possible.

I don't track my car, but every now and then at weekends I get to use and empty air force runway to batter scoobys. Though the standard of their matchbox cars is getting better!!

You can't "chip" the Zed :surrender: , you have to get it remapped by Abbey or RS  . Anyone offering in internet service to chip it has no idea about Zeds :scare:

  2. TBH, it was a fair review in what they said, but they were pitching 2 obviously better cars against the Zed. Would like to have seen a Boxster (not S) and a TTS against it and see how well it did then ;)

+1 they really should compare equally priced cars

  3. please note that the images posted by Beavis are not from VW, but are the work of a Brazilian designer.

There is good news for fans of the Camper, Klaus Bischoff, Volkswagen’s Chief Designer, has revealed, in an interview given to British Autoexpress magazine, that the German carmaker is working on plans to build a new version of the classic Camper. “I would not be doing my job at Volkswagen properly if I was not thinking of bringing back the Camper," he said in the interview given at the recent LA Auto Show.

  4. my dad said when he was younger he worked with the gritters and he said thats been done deliberately, even the amount in the wheels shows that, as grit scatters, it doest get spread that finely and that amount in a small area

    +1

let's be generous as it was snowy and assume the gritter was only going at 10MPH, that's still over 14 feet/second (or almost the length of a Zed). The spreader does about 1 rotation per second but let's say it was 2 rev/sec - you should have 2 small oblique stripes along the car and NOT a solid mass of salt to corrode everything :surrender:

  5. I'm interested to know this too. Had the first MOT of my ownership yesterday and the tester asked what it was, as to whether to put it on the brake rollers or not.

We decided it was safer not too. I think that pleased him as he then had to blast it up the road :teeth:

The MOT tester's guide to different models should have told him NOT to use the rollers, it can damage the diff

  6. OP satisfied and topic now closed

no its not its says its still open; thats why i just posted this

yea but to what avail ?

It's not in the green room so biscuit get's another 2 added to his post count - nice spam MrB
