  1. Well today I bought my 3rd Zed! :D

Big thanks to Will for giving me the pointers to look for on a roadster, I have bought a tidy car for good money with none of the niggles mentioned on the forum.

Went for a 10 plate with all the bits on and in black rose, which looks fab in the sun. Its only done 5k so pretty much brand new. Needs two wheels refurbing but other than that perfect order.

I had a proper test drive with the roof up and down on varying road surfaces at different speeds. Overall was really impressed with the 370z, no speed difference between 313 imo, the interior quality is a massive improvement over 313, overall everything else it did better than the 313, bar noise. The rear visibility is as expected, terrible and boot is a joke, but should be good enough for the cross Europe drives! The lady will just have to take less stuff.

The dealer gave me a good trade in price for my 313 which sweetened the deal. The sales chap was really helpful and a car fanatic so made it painless experience, the dealer mgr complimented me on the care taken for my 313, this was reflected in the px price, only £500 less than what it was priced on PH and Autotrader. Result.

Overall another very good experience with a Nissan main dealer, even though they were not a high performance dealer! They seem to care more about customer service and welcome dealing with the sporty models.

My only niggles are that its pretty quite aurally compared to both previous 350's. Easily sorted with a exhaust, hmmm Nismo or Fast Intentions decisions, decisions.

I shall get the Eibach spacers (if they fit) on and Cosworth filters next weekend along with sorting the alloys.

Shall get some pics up of the Zed evolution when I get them off the camera.

  2. Thanks Will for info.

Tyres are OEM and yes aware of the cost with them, it cost me a small packet to put supersports all round on the current car, I am guessing it will only be more shocking when that time arrives on the bigger rim'd Zed.I wll have a bit more of a search on the hood catching issue. Should be pretty is to spot as it will leave drag marks over time on the window leading edge and on the roof canvas. Thanks for the heads up. Will also have a good look at the bonnet shuts to make sure it wasnt built on a late friday afternoon....

  3. I have to agree now I have seen one in the flesh. Got two viewings on different 2 soft tops this weekend :)

Lets see if the garage can play ball on part ex for my 313...

Any tips what should I look out for on them, other than the usual gearbox issues and chipping on the front bumper which seems to plauge all Zed models?

  4. Head lining to suit 313HR. Needs to be mint. Can collect from wide area in South or possible arrange courier to collect. Pref is collection so I can take a look at it.

Any also anyone know of some +06 Burnt orange seats going for same age car? Really miss them from my old Zed, they lifted the interior so much. Again would need to be in good order or similar to mine for exchange (from a car which has only done 27k, so in great order). Black ones are low maintenance but a bit bland.PM me if interested.

  5. Case halves look like they are printed on a SLS machine. Not great for build resolution or ultimate strength over time. They also become brittle with sunlight. I only use this type of print process for basic concepts prototypes certainly not thin walled sections parts either. Personally I would steer well clear of this.

  6. Had a set of these fit on all corners to replace the tired RE50A's. Done a few miles on them now and they have come alive, wow what a great tyre!

Not cheap but certainly the best money I have spent on the Zed when combo'd with a geometry align.

A good improvement in terms of on the limit grip both in the wet and dry. Tyre roar is slightly less too over the RE50A's. Bonus. Finally got some proper steering feel back again.

Only negative comments are that they are rounded at edges so look a bit smaller in width and seems to be less tread depth than RE50A's when new.

Neither of these bother me though as 313 is a weekend toy. Lets see how long they last now. :drive1

  7. Does any one happen to know the Nissan part number for the stud / clip fastener (clip A) in the images below?

Save me a visit to the dealer?

Are they also handed? Thanks in advance.

  8. Pretty much a dead cert on the PSS's. Going to have full laser alignment too, hopefully this will prolong tyre life a bit and check the alignment currently on the car.

How about the price I have been quoted, anyone recommend any other good tyre outlets in Berks / Bucks area?

Ordered some Eibach spacers too in a moment of weakness, since I have got the car to a near perfect mechanical and bodywork state.

  9. Which had less road noise?

Looking to change some very tired RE50A's all round which have been fine grip / wear wise. Its just the tyre roar on the motorways is terrible.

Oh the Zed is on 18inch rays alloys.

Also is £920 all inc fitting, balancing, about going rate for 4 fitted?

  10. At least once a month I make a point of doing this. Good way of keeping the love I found!

Get up at 5-6am ish on a Sunday morning (trust me its worth it!!) and go for a drive round a planned route. Don the thin soled trainers and let rip for a hour or two. :drive1

  11. Myself and a number of mates have used these chaps in Slough, off bath road.

    http://www.the-autowerks.com/WheelRefurbishment.html

They have refurbished split and non split rims on number of my friends porkers and my old 350z with great results.

They have a secure warehouse where the cars are kept if left overnight.

Finish and quality far supper to mobile repairers. About £55inc vat a wheel. Oh and the colour match was spot on too.

I considered BJV to but didn't work out best route based on my location (Windsor).
