  1. Number of reasons, boyfriend bought the Porsche cos its got 4 seats which we need for the weekends when we have his little boy. Two sportscars was a bit excessive and impractical. But the main reason was that I need to get a 4x4 to tow a horse box. Can't afford to have multiple vehicles, so the poor Zed had to go. Was very unhappy about it going, but had no choice. However, the new owner loves it to bits and had a grin from ear to ear the day he came to pick it up and has already priced up new stainless exhaust etc, so the Zed is probably chuffed to bits LOL! One day when I have saved up (2025?!) I will have a GT-R, or maybe if I win the lottery an LFA...!! haha Til then I will "slum" it with the 911. hehe
  2. Tell me about it! People keep banging on about the flippin' Porsche, but I'd rather the Zed any day!!
  3. The boyfriend's bought a 911 Carrera 2, guess I'll have to make do with that...
  4. Agreed. It's just happened to me. HEARTBROKEN doesn't begin to cover it.
  5. I have very reluctantly sold my precious Zed; watching someone else drive it away was possibly the lowest moment of my entire life! Will I ever get over it or will it leave a Zed shaped hole in my life forever?!
  6. Haha this thread is hilarious. I am a girl and can just about tolerate my boyfriend driving my Zed (he's a fab driver though, although a bit heavy on the right foot!). I cringe when my Dad gets in it and immediately stalls it Mind you, there's no way I'd let my Mum drive it! (Sorry Mum!)
  7. The guy is very knowledgeable and yes he tried hard enough; in total spent 5.5 hours on the damned thing (and taking old one off). So i've been landed with a HUGE bill and got the old exhaust back on!! The fitment issues were major rather than minor, it was knocking all over the place and the tail pipes were very wonky etc. He didn't want to do a cowboy job on it and leave me unhappy. Thanks for offer re Santa Pod, but I'm in South West Wales - bit far. Never mind, I've actually decided to sell my lovely Zed now anyway :-(
  8. Looking back on this thread people have paid £200, £160 and £149. The one I bought is usually £249 on Buy it Now and I got it cheap cos it was a 99p start auction. Anyway, doesn't really matter now, as the old one is back on and I'll be asking for a refund! Shafted! Ah well, thought it was too good to be true!
  9. All I know is that the man from the garage said it knocks all over place and he wouldn't know where to start trying to sort it out as its just too bad. He's very experienced so its not like he doesn't know what he's doing. I did research it and lots of other people seem to have used this Toyosports exhaust, so no idea why it doesn't fit my car.
  10. I bought one of these off eBay last week for £156, which I thought was a bargain. It looked fab and I was delighted. Garage has tried to fit it today and it knocks the bodywork in multiple places and the tail pipes are all wrong. Really dissappointed as the old one has a hole in it, which is being welded up and put back on. Have I been stupid and bought the wrong thing? My Zed is a UK 55 plate (Dec) manual... why doesn't it fit?!
  11. Thank you everyone for all your help.
  12. So, what exactly are these code readers? Can they erase the malfunction? Does the malfunction light come on a lot with Zeds? This is the first time since i got him last November... would it be worth me buying a code reader? xx
  13. **update** Apparently it was a throttle pedal sensor (cue jokes about heavy right foot haha!!), they erased the fault and the light hasn't come back on, which is good. Cost me £28 for them to do about 30secs of work, which wasn't so good!!!
  14. Sorry, only just seen your message. Thanks very much for the offer, but 80 miles is a bit far and maybe not very sensible to drive 160 mile round trip in case there is something serious up with the Zed... I'll take him into Nissan this week and hopefully find out what the problem is. xx
  15. I'm in Pembrokeshire (South West Wales). Done a reset already and the light came back on again :-( xx
  16. The malfunction light on the dashboard of my Zed has come on and all it says in the manual is that there is a malfunction (no sh*t!!) and that i need to take the Zed to the nearest Nissan agent. Any ideas what this is likely to be? I'm dreading it being something hugely expensive, but the car seems to be running just fine and dandy... any enlightenment would be appreciated. xx
  17. Yes would be a ball ache if i had some...!! haha
  18. I've just spoken to a Nissan agency in Swansea and they told me that i would have to take the Zed in for them to look at the adaptor. Sometimes they can do a software update, but i think it depends on the model of adaptor. If not, it'll mean a new adaptor at muchos expense (£100ish). The joys of technology!!! x
  19. I think you have hit the nail on the head! Although i didn't know you could have the bluetooth adaptor software updated, so that's good news! The car went in for a service 3 weeks ago, so I'll have to assume they didn't do any form of upgrade then. I'll get in touch with Nissan. Yey! Thanks!
  20. Firstly, the Zed had the adaptor in it when i bought it and i could connect straight away with my old phone (Nokia 6500 slide). So I think I can assume that there's nothing wrong with the adaptor itself. Secondly, my old phone has been switched off with no SIM ever since getting my new phone, so this can't be causing any trouble. Thirdly, yes i had the car running at the time when i tried to connect the two. I know that when my Dad got his new phone (also a 5800 like my new one) he could no longer connect to his car and when he did some research on the internet it's apparently a common problem with the BMW and Nokia 5800. Could it be that my bluetooth adaptor is too old and the technology has changed slightly...?? I think I will contact my Nissan agent on Monday to enquire. xx
  21. Yeah I have bluetooth on and set to shown to all, but it just won't connect. When i do a search on my phone it says "no active devices". My Dad had the same problem in his BMW 5 series and was told that the car is too old for the phone!!!! x
  22. I've just upgraded my phone to a Nokia 5800 touch phone and it won't connect with the bluetooth adaptor in my Zed. Really annoyed, how do i go about sorting this out? Anyone else had the same problem? xx Apologies if i posted this in the wrong place... wasn't sure where to put it!
  23. I tried to get a pic last night, but because of the reflection off the paintwork the scratch doesn't show up. Its not a really deep scratch, but big enough and long enough to be noticeable and also goes across the door handle. Almost looks like its been keyed by someone (very half heartedly!!). Someone also put a tiny ding in the same door a few weeks ago, so maybe I'll call in the professionals and get both fixed at the same time. xx

  25. My beautiful Zeddie has a very long scratch down the passenger side caused by a rogue bramble sticking out of a hedge. What is the best product to use to get it out? Will I be able to get it out and will the paint work be damaged by a T-cut type product? Advice would be greatly appreciated! xx
