I was in the Sunset Zed waving, so I thought I should ID myself... I'm assuming the owner of the GM Zed I waved at is 350zStephen?
Hello anyway!

I'm gonna organise one in the next few weeks. A glasgow to Borders east coast run.
Sweet! Ideal location for me. Just hope I'm available at the time... Be good to hear some different exhausts in person, as vids just aren't as good as real life...

Sounds good chief, what kind of zed were you in? I see a few on my commute
Sunset GT 55 plate...
There are a few Z's about on the M8!
We have scottish meets fairly frequentlyWell I'm looking forward to the next one whenever it might be...
Cheers,

Hi folks,
Don't know if it's been talked about before (maybe I've missed the thread), but would you be interested in a regular monthly meet?
Used to belong to another Scottish car club some years ago, and they would meet up once a month for a bite to eat and a chat etc... Locations were generally rotated, so we'd meet up in a different town/city each month so for example, the folks in Aberdeen didn't always end up having to come down to the central belt...
What do you think? Would you be interested?
I've put up a simple poll to gauge responses. Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes...
Cheers,
Doug

Where abouts are you from Doug?
Hi mate,
Missed your post... Don't want to be too accurate on the web, but let's say Carluke'ish...
Cheers,
Doug

Any news on this yet? Looking forward to meeting up...
-
My wife was with me, so I've got a witness...! Hopefully it won't come to that though...
-
Just to update you...
Took it back to the dealer who said he'd hae a word with the service department to organise getting it fixed... No hassle, no excuses, just a "no problem, sir" attitude...
If all goes well getting it fixed, I reckon they'll deserve a listing in the Good Dealers post!
Thanks for all your speedy help and advise! E-beers all round!
Cheers,
Doug

Not if he has preowned ones he doesn't.
Oooohh... Got any in orange if I have no luck?
-
I said windscreen right at the beginning
So you did! Chocolate Noddy's all round!
-
The windscreen has no logos whatsoever... Think we've found the culprit!
From that step-by-step, it looks like your theory is right Magic...
Bloody windscreen replacement muppets...!
Suppose I better see how I get on tomorrow... Wish me luck!
Thanks guys and gals!

Is that just the B-pillar trim panels?

Are there any specific logos/markings on the original windscreen that would be missing on a replacement?
-
Any idea what they're made of? Could they be glued if I don't get anywhere?
-
Thanks for the responses so far folks!
I wouldn't have thought it was a load bearing part, but will definately ask them to either replace/pay for new covers or give my money back...
Will let you know how I get on tomorrow.
Any other insights still welcome, as I'll be keeping an eye on this thread closely tonight...
Thanks,
Doug

UK car, HPI clear...

Apologies for the double post, but I just read how to remove the B pillar trim, so did that and attempted better photos.
First thing I noticed is that the drivers side trim must have been removed before as the middle clip is broken:
Here are better shots of the cracked drivers side rear tab and the crack at the drivers side front:
And here's a shot of the passengers side in place:
And lifted up:
As before, all help appreciated...

Just noticed something a bit odd today on my Zed, which I picked up on Monday just gone...
The plastic body panels that go up the A pillars and along the sides of the roof have got some cracks in them, so I thought I'd take some photos to let you guys have a look. On it's own it's not that worrying, but I'm just concerned that it's an indicator of something more serious like crash damage. Maybe someone on here knows something about the car? Used to have a private reg X????...
Anyhoo, here's the photos. This is goes down to a tab which holds the back end of the driver's side panel on:
I found that out when I checked the other side and saw it had seperated entirely:
Back to the driver's side, there's also a crack which leads down from the nick in the rubber trim, but it's really hard to see:
Any and all help appreciated. I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow anyway, for them to have a look, as I don't think that's acceptable. Do you think I'm within my rights to ask them to replace the panels?
Many thanks,
Doug

There used to be one that I spotted up here on the A77 about 10 years ago...
Never got close up, but it looked like a pretty good imitation of the genuine article.

Cheers mate!
Have always liked the GM's... very classy
I seem to remember reading a thread where someone else was driving your car and realised there probably weren't too many GM Zeds in the area with a similar reggy...
(Where's the Sherlock Holmes smilie then?)
