    Crackin' pic Dawn! Jill's saved it as the wallpaper on her laptop! :lol:

    Great day out and thanks to all who organised it! :#1:

    Cheers,

    Doug

    PS: Also surprisingly economical... I normally get 380 miles to a tank, but after 345, I still had an indicated 105 to go...!!! :yahoo::dance:

  2. Sorry for the last minute notice :surrender: , but Jill's now able to make it tomorrow too... Hope there's room at the table for a wee one! :teeth:

  4. if i manage to make this is anyone leaving from the central area :thumbs:

    I'll probably drive up the M74 or A73, depending on what's easiest, and go up to the A80 for Stirling then onto Perth...

    If the Central folks want to, perhaps we could meet up with the Glasgow convoy at the Stirling Services around 10:30 / 11ish?

  5. Oh dear, then I best be extra careful as I am running Federals and putting down 600bhp.

    Wish that I had known this before I splashed the cash. :blush:

    Just out of interest, are you running the SS595's like the OP linked to or another model? Either way, let us know what they're like...

  6. I won't be able to go to this one I'm afraid. Can't get the time off... :bang:

    Have driven round Knockhill a couple of times before (not in the 350... yet!) and it was the most amazing experience...

    If you're swithering about whether or not to give it a shot, just go for it...! It's something very few people ever ever get to do and if you love your car, why not explore it's potential!

    You will always see the signs saying "motorsport is dangerous" and yes, sometimes things happen. But compare it to "spirited" driving on the road:

    • [*:2p06s4q9]You don't have oncoming traffic;
      [*:2p06s4q9]people expect to be overtaken and therefore generally use their mirrors;
      [*:2p06s4q9]you're covering the same piece of ground every lap you do, so you quickly learn the track and know where you can push it;
      [*:2p06s4q9]you don't get old duffers or tractors pulling out on you at 10mph;
      [*:2p06s4q9]there are no ditches to fall into or street kerbs to hit if you do slide;
      [*:2p06s4q9]you're very unlikely to get done for speeding.

    As long as you start off slow and build up steadily, and don't rush into your first ever track corner like a wannabee motorsport hero, you'll have - dare I say it - a safe and very exciting time. :thumbs:

  7. Sounds good, anyone leaving from mothwell area are more than welcome to convoy with me.

    I'm near Carluke so can meet up before hand to go over if you like... :wave:

    Which side of Motherwell are you? Would the restaurant car park in Strathy (next to the Raith) or perhaps the Asda at Newmains suit you best? Up to you, it's 6 and two 3's for me...

    Doug
