you 2 are both right and wrong.....its not the firmware that is a problem but its when the firmware upgrades the modems firmware...apple have done a couple of things to block jailbreaking/unlocking but the cycle will never end...there will always be a way

that is correct...you can use it on any gsm carrier in the world........HOWEVER......you won't be able to get Visual Voicemail or call merging if you are not on 02's plan...not sure if that is important to you guys or not lol....

3rd party apps is the biggest plus.....like apps that apple wont approve like rated R stuff goes, once jailbroken then you have the ability to unlock the phone.
