  1. Did you not read the first line of my post? "A quick question..." I see no point in commenting on the video. Worth remembering for future reference... Posting links to this video across the internet and posting photographs of your car in each of those links will not have done you any favours for when you come here in May. People will recognise the car and I wouldn't be surprised if Nurburgring GmbH recognise it too. They have banned people before based on videos posted on the internet and I'm sure will in the future. Yes you may be right.. But the whole filming at the nurburgring on a tourist day is hypocritical .. Example > Bren of sliders guest house posting videos of his RECORD BREAKING bike laps ,stefan rosser in the porsche yellow bird sliding and drifting on a tourist day.. A certain MX 5 the being driven by dale of RSR@nurburg drifting and silding around on a tourist day.. To name just a few people and these videos can be found on forums and you tube some of which posted by their drivers and for all to see.. And no one passes bad judgment on them now that's hypocritical especially has they should know better...... As far as I'm aware these videos were filmed before the ban came into effect a few years ago and others were filmed on exclusive trackdays where filming, timing is allowed. Bren doesn't even ride a bike on track anymore. Dale's MX5 comes out on exclusive trackdays. Stefan Roser's Yellowbird lap was filmed 20 years ago. I didn't comment or post a hypocritcal statement, I posted advice warning of the consequences of filming. People will continue to film despite the ban and I have no problem with that.

  3. Quick question... Any of you who think it's an awesome video/driving actually been to the Nurburgring or driven it? This video has been plastered across the internet on just about every car forum and those who drive the Nordschleife during Touristenfahrten on a regular basis do not seem to think it's so 'awesome'.
  4. The Nordschleife rewards a torquey car, prime example being you are accelerating uphill all the way from Breidscheid to Hohe Acht. I'm not sure how familiar people are with the uphill gradients so a couple of examples for you: Ex-Muhle (immediately after Breidscheid bridge) Hohe Acht (albeit taken from the footpath)
  5. +1 I couldnt believe that. Fast cars round here, there a couple of guys I know doing 7:30 BTG laps.
  6. That's about right Ian. Crossings: I've only used 2 companies in the past, Norfolkline were my prefered crossing. They're cheap, normally paid circa £40 return, it's a 2hr crossing but it gives you a chance to have a decent (albeit overpriced) breakfast and a sleep if it's an early crossing. It also takes you 30mins further down the French coastline so reduces your driving time. Eurotunnel are fast and reliable but you pay a premium for this. Fuel: I filled my tank up in Harlow (Essex) and made it Nurburg on one tank (380 miles) which was impressive in my Impreza, normally budget a tank and a half. Accommodation: €50 per person per night for a decent hotel, guesthouses cheaper. Lap prices for 2009: 1 - €22 4 - €75 8 - €145 15 - €250 25 - €390 JK - €1075 Food and drink: €50 per night for a nice meal and drinks. Hope this helps.
  7. A popular trip If it's your first trip I'd recommend tuition or talk yourself into a regular's passenger seat, sometimes, like Grant, you get lucky and get a lap in a fast car with a fast driver.
