  1. Hi, Anyone know what the dB levels of a standard exhaust are? I know that some of the aftermarket stuff is 90dB or more... Just wanted to know what a standard one is Cheers Luke
  2. Hi, Does the Zed have the capabilty of having the rear tracking adjusting. I know it has camber but am wondering wether the tracking is adjustable? Cheers Luke
  3. Worn totally even all over, but its 4000 miles that is only about 5% motorway. The other 95% is B-Roads and town driving. Looks like spirited launches from the lights then?!
  4. Hi, Put Falken fk452s on the back of my Zed about 4000 miles ago, and now they are worn out!! How long do people generally get out of their rears on their brand of tyres! Cheers Luke
  5. Hi, Anybody used this setup? If so, any good? Is the fitment OK and how much louder than stock is this? Cheers Luke
  6. Why would it run lean with the same lambda probes/cat etc.. I can understand loss of back pressure, but why would the mixture change?! The Zed seems to run too rich in standard tune in my opinion anyway....! Even rollers with dyno charts seem to have a higher fuel to air ratio....! But thats irellevant, wanna understand why a cat back can so badly affect the AFR and make it lean?
  7. Hey, Got a quote today for a custom exhaust for the Zed, from a company I have used loads of times over the years on several cars and top quality company. Gonna go cat back with 3" pipe and back to 2 seperate backboxes (rather than the current big briefcase!!) Pipe work after the 3" to the back boxes will be 2.5" (or 2.25"). All based on straight through design and not offset baffles What sort of effect on the performance will this be likely to gain (or lose!!!) based on similar off the shelf stuff. Cheers Luke
  8. The vee-dub scene is awesome. Have driven Golf GTis since I was 18. Only the ZED seemed good enough to buy anythin other than a VW. Never thought I would "defect"!!! Got a Mk1 as well. 4WD and 400bhp, and I love it..! Take a look here: http://www.clubgti.com/FORUM/showthread.php?t=196435 Still love the ZED just as much too for different reasons
  9. Thanks for those 2 answers guys, more informative Would not expect massive top end gains, more interseted in mid range punch which I feel the Z lacks for a bigger engined car... Pulls well enough if you drive it like you stole it! Guess with more torque the fuel economy improves too since you aint gotta drive it so hard?!
  10. Firstly: I cannot find GT4 or REV Up stuff there, loads of other engines Secondly: What mods did he have when he lost power, had he remapped it to match the mods? Cheers Luke
  11. Hey... Anyone got any figures of the typical gains for mods to a Rev Up GT4 engine if you do any/all of the below?! JWT PopCharger Plenum Spacer HiFlow Cats/Exhaust Remap (Abbey/RSTuning?) Would really be interested in the whole package really, and wonder what sort of gains there are in total. Just about to change the filter on my GT4, and plenum is next. Hopint the exhaust will "fall off" soon so I can replace it!!! hehehe.. Then would go for a sports cat and exhaust, and a remap!! Cheers Luke
  12. Checked my pressures and the Falkens on the rear only have 30psi in them...! That will explain it....! Cheers everyone..
  13. Falkens on the back, and Kenda on the front. Dont blame me for the Kendas since the garage agreed to put tyres on there when I bought it! Seem OK though... Does the Z dislike different treads front->rear that badly then?!
  14. Got Falken FK-452 tyres on the back... Dont know how stiff they are?! Is there a simple way of checking the shock?
  15. Hi, Have notice that since I have had my Zed (only 6 months) that on particularly bad roads where there are cambers/bad textures/dips that on odd occasions the back of the car feels a little fidgety almost as if there is something a little loose on the rear suspension...?! There are NO noises at all so cannot hear the bushes, and on normal roads or even enthusiastic starts there is nothing?! I have noticed it with and without any throttle? Is is possible that the active handling is sensing the car being pulled on bad roads and braking a single rear wheel?! Because that would explain it?! This is REALLY SUBTLE, and just me being a really picky car owner!!! Cheers Luke
  16. I noticed in altheo45 thread at the top that he has a graph How did you create this? Was it from diagnostic logging? If it was what diags do you use
  17. Cheers Fellas. What did it cost in the end then if you just paid for labour?
  18. Hi! Have you got an address/tel num for me to contact Nissan Customer services? Cheers Luke
  19. Hi, How many of you have had the car fixed out of warranty (mine is 6 months out of warranty) and just wondered if Nissan have any decency in fixing it. Secondly what exactly is replaced to fix this? Is it just the outer CV Joint? Mine is a MY05 GT4. Cheers Luke
  20. Hi Adam, So the base map to get it started and running is not good enough to leave in it as a finished solution? How is the piggyback ECU mapped? Does it come with software to allow mapping at any reputable rolling road? Cheers Luke
  21. Thanks again for the reply Adam... So the full kit that supplies the fuel pump / Piggyback controller etc is premapped to run as a plug-and-play setup then? Do you still get all the safety of the factory ECU like knock sensors etc with this? Is 9psi safe on standard internals? Assuming I would run Super-Unleaded and probably fit a water injection kit to stop pre-detonation? Cheers Luke
  22. Cheers Adam What kit would I need for a UK GT4? Also as a standard kit, are the internals of the engine safe? What PSI do they run? Cheers Luke
  23. Hi, If you bought a Vortech Supercharger Kit from the USA wold it be OK on a UK car. I know the mechanical bits would prob be OK, but would the piggy back ECU etc suit the UK car due to different fuel grades in the US? Has anyone here done this?
  24. Hi, Tried to order a battery cover for my 2005 Zed today, cos it was missing when I bought the car, and the local dealers are a franchise and got no idea at all!!!! According to them there is no battery cover, so it must just be my imagination that there is a hole in my car that I can see the battery through that is not there on every other Zed!!! Even told the useless gits to look at the one in the showroom!!! ANYWAY!!! Anyone know the part number so I can order one directly, and hence spoon feed the babies at my local franchised dealership Cheers Luke
  25. Cheers fellas! So the guy was talkin cr@p when he said 10w40 then?
