  1. Can't believe all I am reading here.

    Big Man

I don't think this would have happened in England, but we tend to get more people not taking sh1t up here.

Just like the riots down in England, if that tried to be started up here the ordinary people would stand up for whats right. We have a history of standing against injustice.

Christ, we even crushed the poll tax :boxing:

I can just see everyone up in arms when Smeato and the rest got stuck right into the terrorists who tried to bomb Glasgow Airport.

Worrying about the offenders feelings and rights is what has put this country where it is today.

  2. What I couldn't understand about the people who will own this type of car, it will sit in a garage and only come out on weekends when the weather is very nice, get detailed and put back in the garage.

What could you possibly use as your daily driver and not be so disappointed driving about in?

So I guess my question is, if you can afford this type of car as a weekend plaything what would you have as a daily driver?

  3. I get letters on what seems a bi-monthly rate telling me my tax code has been changed. Does my box in.

Got one just two months ago, only benefit from work I have is my family health cover so why it should keep changing confuses me.

Then a few weeks ago another letter drops but this time it says I have overpaid my tax and another letter arrived with cheque for £695 :yahoo:

Don't know what the article is talking about though about insensitive to underpayers, I have had several of these over the years and it merely means they drop my tax code substantially to recover the outstanding tax over a period of time, never been asked for it in one go or anything...

  4. Only got a small shot of it on Friday night once the missus went to bed...

Still not took the steering wheel out the rapper, first shot I done with Kinect, my arms were getting sore before the end of it...But it's actually very good fun and good seeing the drivers hands turn on the wheel exactly as yours does.

Started the career, bought a 350z, of course, and done the first 5 events. Last event was knocking down the pins at Top Gear track, needed something like 295,000 points to complete and most I could get was around 265k. Gave up in the huff

One thing, before I started racing I went to the part where you can buy ready made paint jobs which people put on their marketplace, managed to get a decent one which cost no money but for the life of me can't see how I apply it...

  5. It was never an issue just putting it on standby when I was getting out the car, I don't know if you mean this is still drawing current and therefore draining your battery if left for days or weeks etc?

But I had mines draw live from the cigarette lighter so it could only receive power while ignition was on anyway. So only downside was if left for days or weeks it would switch itself off, but wouldn't lose any information etc, just need to wait on it booting up which only takes a minute or so anyway.

  6. Never mind all the modding, how the hell are you going to get Forza 5 when Forza 4 just came out today ;)

Going to drop by Game this lunchtime to pick it up.

I have a share in a pool hall now and first thing I done was install two xbox 360s with 40" LCD's for people to hire. I get all the top titles like GoW3, Fifa 12 etc and we run small tournaments when pool tournaments are on as people are waiting about.

Lots of people are looking forward to having FM4 tournaments already...

  7. I only got admiring comments when I had mine, lost count of the amount of times I would have the window down or walking to or away from the car and got a comment of how good the car was from someone.

Was very strange as that's something I would never consider doing in a million years, not even if it was a lambo or something.

Got out the XKR yesterday at McDonalds to jump in for something to eat and guy walking to his car next to me said 'cracking car' to me as walking past. Puts a little spring in your step though :D

  8. Don't know if they have changed wiring since first version but I simply unplugged current cable from pedal, plugged in D1 then plugged the cable I just unplugged into the back of the D1 connector.

Then plugged the ODB cable into the socket directly under the steering wheel, you will find it by feeling about under there.

No need for any other cables.

I mounted my controller just to right of rev counter longwise.

Wait till you get it fitted, stick it into SP5 or above and you won't be able to punch that grin off your face.

  9. Paintless Dent repair guy came, had one look and said he couldn't fix it...

Says access to the door panel on Jags is too bad to get it all out, he could get some of it out but said I wouldn't be completely happy with result.

Speaking in the pub last night to the uncle of the guys pal who was there last week and he said the guy had treated his nephew to the night out so I'm just hoping that means he has a decent job and wasn't just blowing his full giro...

He did say his mum and dad were on holiday in Germany and they were very nice people....pity they couldn't bring their son up to respect other peoples property then.

  10. Police phoned me today to say the scumbag has been charged with vandalizing my car along with several other charges.

He asked me if I had the car fixed yet and I said no but got first estimate of £1,160 + Vat and he said he will add this value onto the details passed onto the Fiscal. Told me if he gets found guilty then this value will make up part of any fines handed out.

So now I don't know whether to bother going thru with claim.

Paintless Dent repair guy is hopefully making it tomorrow and fingers crossed he can work his magic and save me a fortune...

  11. I believe that if the person who carries out these type of acts is an actual car owner or holds car insurance that it should be claimed just like he had driven into you and it's his insurance company that should pay.

And HIS insurance would go up due to forfeiting ALL no claims bonus as it was a deliberate act.

  12. Bit the bullet and phoned Admiral and they said that vandalism claims get put down as an at fault claim, and my guaranteed no claims guarantees me for 3 claims. So if I claim this thats me got one strike, second strike I lose my guarantee and third claim it would start affecting my no claims discount....

They said since someone has been arrested they would pursue them for the money but in the meantime I need to pay the excess and if they do manage to reclaim the money I will be reimbursed, but I will still have a strike against my guaranteed no claims discount policy.

    How is that possibly fair?

I can understand it to prevent people claiming vandalism for something they done themselves, but not when the vandal has been caught and arrested surely?

  13. Just went into place next to my mates garage for an estimate and it's £1,160 + VAT!!!!

Needs new door skin and that's £400 by itself.

Spoke to paintless dent repair guy I used before and he said Jags are really hard to work with door wise so I have to email him some photos and he will let me know what's possible...

Ebized, I pay that bit extra for protected no claims discount anyway.

  14. Gutted for you mate! Did you get their names? As I'm from around this area and have many friends and family over in that hole, I may be able to help you out

The guy that was his mate was a guy I know's cousin so I am going to find out who he is and where he stays, one way or another he will be paying.

Agreeing to the fellow zedder above I can't see you standing a chance on court without CCTV or eye witnesses. I am sure someone will have seen it happening. Ask around in the pub.

But the guy who did it doesn't know it either....you can be very convincing if there is no CCTV around ;) get in lad!!!

CCTV is the pub only covers the stairwell but nothing outside, and the police CCTV doesn't look at the right place either.

If needed I had a pub full of mates who will be only too willing to come forward that they witnessed the full incident ;)

  15. Came out the pub last night to be confronted with this

    doordent.jpg

To say I was gutted was an understatement. I could see the print of someones trainers in the dent, and they had spat on the roof as well which you can just make out in the photo...

About 15 minutes before I left the coppers came in and took two guys out who were steaming sitting at the bar, so I went back upstairs and asked the barlady what they had been lifted for, she said they were fighting at the front door, where my car was parked...

So they said to go down to Coatbridge Police station as thats where they would have been taken, I was driving down Airdrie Main Street when I seen two bobbies on the beat so thought I would pull in and ask them what I should do, as I was looking for a space to pull in, low and behold these two assholes are sitting on the pavement arguing with each other.

So I park and run up and the coppers are just standing over them watching them and tell them they had been chucked out of the pub for fighting and my car was damaged and it must have been one of them. So one of the coppers walked down to my car and as he was looking at it they must have kicked off cause he went away running up to help his partner.

Then cops were coming from everywhere as they must have radioed for help. They had cuffed one of the guys who was shouting and bawling calling them all the names under the sun, they put him in the back of a cop car but he was kicking the windows and seats so they dragged him out, one of the coppers had him by the throat which was nice :)

A police van arrived and they stuck him in one of the secure cages and took him away. Cops got me to drive round to the police station and got the guys trainers sent up which showed a perfect match so they took all the photo's and took swabs from the spit he put on the roof so proves without doubt he done it.

So on one hand I have been very very lucky to have the idiot caught, but now I don't know how I am fixed for getting it fixed?

Will I be stung for my excess if I go thru my insurance given that someone will be charged with the incident? Will I be able to claim some sort of criminal damages etc?

The metal has no creases in it so I am just hoping that it can be done by a paintless dent repair guy I have used in the past..

Any info would be gratefully received.
