  1. Well I now have the 350!!

Gunmetal Grey, Alezan leather, GT, 53 reg, 31K, Rear parking sensors, Nismo exhaust & gear knob. Been out for a drive and absolutely love it! The exhaust seems to make a real difference to the sound compared to what I have heard in other 350's - is that right?

Either way - what a car! Thanks for everyone's help on here, I think I've got a good one (fingers crossed).

    Cheers,

    Rich :teeth:

  2. Thanks for all your positive comments guys. It's now down at my family home in Bournemouth where it will stay until sold. So a nice clean and it will be ready for whoever the new owner will be!

If you do know of anyone with interest then please pass them the details.

    Many thanks,

    Rich

  3. :welcome:

Happy Z hunting Rich, ive just part exchanged a Clio 197 cup for my 350Z last week and never looked back mate.

Thanks David. I've pretty much done a deal on a 350 now, paid a deposit last night to complete this next weekend. Doesn't feel real yet! Just have to sell my Clio now...

  4. Hey guys,

Well there were a few bits. We were told that both rear tyres were changed at the same time in Feb and the rear right was massively more worn than the left. The owner couldn't shed anymore light on it at all, and had no receipts etc to confirm the fact. So that was a little one but not the end of the world.

The Tax had run out at the end of last month and hasn't been renewed. There had been no mention of this previously and he had been out driving the car before he turned up back at home for us to view the car (we had turned up early as roads were clear). When questioned he admitted it was SORN. So that dents confidence in the guy really.

He also mentioned that he was comfortable for us to pay cash and drive it away today. Would he have ever told us it wasn't taxed?? I'm not so sure.

With it app being a 'second car' and always stored in a garage it didn't seem in as good nick as I thought it would for 15K miles use. So all in all it didn't feel right.

There were other bits about the conversation that didn't seem right, especially as he mentioned another guy had offered £11K last night, had accepted £50 deposit off of him and he hadn't told us about that when we checked it was still available. He didn't have a good reason for turning that down and selling to us other than we had apparently made contact before this other guy...

So I walked away. I hope that might help some other people. As said, it might be a genuine car and I'm reading too much into it, but I'd rather be totally comfortable with an investment like this.

  5. Well I've been and seen the '54' plate and to cut a long story short it didn't feel right and I left it. Offer of £11K was accepted but I couldn't be sure on it and no matter how good a deal it seemed, without that confidence it made sense to walk away. A shame but all good learning I suppose!

    Here's the link to it btw;

It could be a genuine car and I've missed out on a great deal but that's something I have to accept. The unanswered questions were enough to cause doubt in my mind.

  6. 2004 '54' Gunmetal, GT, Rays, Parking Sensors, Alezan leather, Bluetooth, 15K miles, approx. £11K

that seems v good with those miles, uk car ? fsh ?

Yep UK car, Full Nissan History, already HPI checked and everything looks fine so will be taking a look today. I think I might move for it if it all feels OK. Thanks for the feedback!

  7. The nismo exhaust was about £900 but think the price has just gone up.

One thing to watch, if they are from dealers they sometimes get confuded and forget to mention they are imports, check the rear plate.

Having said that these prices sound ok. 15k miles is very low :)

If they are advertised on the net you can post up links if you want,

Thanks for that. I have seen the one with the Nismo today and will be seeing the 54 plate tomorrow. If £11K seems like a good price then I will be very tempted to grab one of them but obv don't want to jump into it...

    Decisions, decisions... :)

  8. Hi guys, I'd like your thoughts on a couple of cars I potentially have on the go please;

2003 '53', Gunmetal, GT, Rays, Parking Sensors, Alezan leather, Bluetooth, Nismo exhaust & gear lever, 30K miles, £11K

2004 '54' Gunmetal, GT, Rays, Parking Sensors, Alezan leather, Bluetooth, 15K miles, approx. £11K

So what are your thoughts on these two cars? Is the Nismo exhaust expensive to purchase and fit? Are they good deals or are people finding better?

    Thanks for your help,

    Rich

  9. I also managed to drive a yellow GT4 from Nissan in Slough. They wanted way more than my budget can stretch but was the best way of seeing if the driving experience is for me, and for the little drive I did have in a busy Slough I can say it is.

If it's looking like a possible, remember it's a buyers market, bargin with the seller. ;);)

Thanks for the thought but at £15,989 talked of yesterday and only £4.5K p/x for mine it is a looong way from my budget. I'm sure they could start dropping that but if I wanted a GT4 in yellow I'd ask Gixxer (nicely!) to have a good look at another one for me and start from their £12,995 starting price for what is a lower mileage car.

I think a silver UK car, GT pack, Rays and under 40K miles is what I'm looking for - but who knows what might come up!

  10. Took a look at three 350's today. My first 350 experiences and I can safely same I am even more sure of wanting one now!! 2 were silver, 53 reg, circa 35,000 miles, GT pack - nice cars but didn't click for me in regards to price and condition. I also managed to drive a yellow GT4 from Nissan in Slough. They wanted way more than my budget can stretch but was the best way of seeing if the driving experience is for me, and for the little drive I did have in a busy Slough I can say it is.

Now just a matter of viewing more cars, understanding what's out there for the money and selling my Clio...

  11. Once I get to grips with all of the Z's that seems to be out there then I will surely put some ads up and ask for some advice. Looking at the market currently the prices, ages, miles and specs seem to vary quite widely. What do you guys class as 'high mileage' and how does it cause problems to be wary of?

Also where are the best places to look for ads. So far I have looked on Pistonheads, this forum, ebay, autotrader. Any more that I should look at?

    Thanks for your help!

  12. Thanks for the welcome guys! I understand the difference between the Clio and a 350 will be marked to say the least but it's been great fun in it's own little way.

I think my perfect Z would consist of a UK GT spec car. Due to insurance looking to be expensive in the first place then a standard car with no mods would probably be the way to go. As the Clio will be lucky to reach £6K I think a maximum would be £12K. Not really sure what could be got for that but I look forward to finding out!

    Cheers

  13. Hi there,

Just joined up to the site on the weekend and enjoying the forum already. Currently have a Clio 182 Cup and having a proper think about picking up a 350 and saying goodbye to the Clio after over 3 years!

Anyway - hello and I look forward to learning a bit more about 350's and maybe finding the 'one for me' on this forum! :teeth:

    Rich
