  16. This car has been booked in pretty recent, after going to view the car the other week for a inspection/quotation It was suggested to go for a full correction detail as the paintwork was looking very dull and with plenty of swirls and scratches. On arrival yesterday this is what the car looked like. Before: Firstly job was to tackle the wheels with some bilberry and a selecion of my swissvax style brushes and a ez detail brush, some megs super de-greaser for the arches and some g101 for the tyres. Half way through the wheels and it began to rain so out with the waterproofs, lucky I had a nice big stable to work in later The wheels hadn't been cleaned properly since new and was taking a few attempts to get them up to standard, they also had 2 lots of tar & glue remover also. Next up and the door/boot shuts were cleaned using my swissvax style brushes and some g101, the engine bay was also cleaned using some virasol and my brushes to then rinsed at low pressure. The exterior was then given a pre-soak of warm citrus de-greaser to the lowers to helps break up some of the dirt and grime, this was left for a few mins then rinsed. Next up for the 1st lot of foaming. Nice and thick which was left for a 10 mins then rinsed, this was repeated again to make sure the majority was off before washing. Next up 2bm wash using z sponge and dodo b2bm shampoo, the car was then sprayed with tardis onto the affected areas and left for a few mins before wiping and then re washing. Today I opted for the sonus green clay. Before: After 1 wing and door: Then another quick wash and dry ready to inspect the paint prior to polishing. Heres some of the DEFECTS: Notice all the door scuffs too along with the swirls :doublesho A quick set of paint readings come in with healthy measurements of 130+ so ample. As this was going to be a 2 stage polishing I opted for the elitecarcare orange cutting pad and some 3m fc+ for the cutting and the elitecarcare red finishing pad @ 3m ultrafina se for finishing down, this was working nicely but some deeper RIDS still remained. Heres a few 50/50 shot: Heres the door scuffs, these had to be wet sanded with 2500 grit followed up with 3000 Rear wing before: Fully corrected now finished with 3m ultrafina se: Once all the polishing was finshed I packed up and called it a night for yesterday @ around 6pm. Arrived back there this morning @ 9am and a quick wipedown with IPA and then cleansed with lime prime lite and she was ready for her coat of BOS, this was applied via a german applicator and left to cure for 30 mins before buffing in the meantime I got on with dressing the plastics with CG new look trim gel, polishing the grill using megs nxt metal polish and a mf. The wax was then buffed off and time to start the interior, fully hoovered and then a wipedown of the leather with some mild g101 and then conditioned using sonus. The plastics was then cleaned dressed using einzsett premium cockpit, finally the glass cleaned inside and out and then zaino tyre dressing applied and finally a quick spritz using some Z y m o l field glaze. Now as the sun had come out I thought i'd move her out into the sun for some finished pics. some brinkmann shots now as I couldn't be bothered to keep moving the car in the sun as it kept hiding behind the clouds: Couple of the interior: Finally Before: After: Forgot to take pics of the engine bay, it was all dressed using rubber/plastic dressing and the paintwork polished. Total time taken for Correction/interior/engine was 15 hrs. Owner delighted and now wants regular maintenance done. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome as usual. Paul
  17. Me Send me a pm with your requirements and address details. Rgds Paul
  18. Hi folks, well today I had booked in a sprint blue Audio TTS, the car is 2 months old now and the owner wanted some nice protection put on to help with the maintenance. Today was a strange day weather wise, arrived @ 9am to bright blue sun shine but then soon came over with thick clouds luckily missed out of the showers for thw whole day. On first inspection this is what the car looked like, the owner hadn't touched it since he picked it up from Audi. Befores: First job was to tackle the wheels, I used AS Smart wheels and and selection of brushes and the tyres/arches were cleaned using g101. Before: After: I then clean all the door/boot shuts using my swissvax style brush and some g101 then rinsed. Next up was a citrus pre-wash applied to the lowers and left for a few mins before rinsing. The car was then foamed using hyper wash and left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed. Next up a 2bm wash using z sponge and some dodo b2bm shampoo then rinsed. Next up was some tardis which was applied to the lowers to remove some excess tar spots before claying. Then clayed using sonus green hardly any contamination came off pretty suprised really, but shows the had prepped the car up to a reasonable standard for a dealership anyway. A quick re-wash and then dried using my miracle drying towel and last touch as drying aid. Next up the car was LP lite'd due to being pretty clean and mark free, this was applied via a german applicator panel at a time then buffed using eurow buffing towels. Next up was the first coat of fk1000p this was applied to the whole car inc door/boot shuts and also wheels then buffed again using eurow towels after leaving for approx 20mins for curing. Next up I cleaned all the exterior glass using my glass cloths and megs glass cleaner, then the exhausts were polished using megs nxt metal polish. Before: After: Then the exterior plastics and tyres were dressed using Zaino. Now it was time to move onto the interior, its was fully hoovered out and then time to access the dye transfer onto the cream leather :doublesho This was cleaned using some mild g101 and a leather brush and a clean mf 50/50 All the plastics were cleaned using g101 and then dressed using poorboys natural look dressing applied via mf. The interior glass was then cleaned and then time to apply the 2nd coat of fk1000. This again was given a 20 min curing time before buffing. And finally the exterior glass was treated with rainx. Now the final pics: ENJOY Before: After: Before: After: Total time was 6 hrs Owner was deleighted and now booked in for quarterly maintenance :thumb: Thanks for looking Paul
  19. The best product for plastic trims is black wow, quite expensive @ £19 for 250ml but you only use a pea size blob and its goes so far. I have some new pots of this for sale if anyone is interested. Paul
  20. Hi Stew I just use a soft nail brush, think it was from elite car care, scrubbed with some weak apc them came up a treat. From previous experince with machining Range Rover's you might have your work cut out with the PC, as even with the rotary they have prooved to be a challenge in the past, I don't envy you at all when you do it lol. Paul
  21. Today I had booked in a rather grubby Range Rover, the owner lives out in the country so its to be expected I suppose. Arrived at 9am and this is what I was greeted with: Firstly the wheels were tackled with my acid free wheel cleaner and left for a couple of mins then agitated with a ez detail brush and my swissvax style brush and the arches cleaned using megs super de-greaser and also the tyres with g101. Then I cleaned all the door/boot shuts using my swissvax style brush and g101. Next the citrus de-greaser was sprayed to all the lowers and traffic film to help cut through it, then rinsed. Next up was a foam using bilt hamber autofoam and left to dwell for a few mins then rinsed. This had to be repeated again to remove as much as possible before washing. Then washed using a schmitt and dodo b2bm and rinsed. Next I sprayed and the panels with last touch and dried using miracle drying towel. I then polished using my trade polish to help minimise some of the swirls this was applied to the whole car then buffed. Next I applied a layer of fk1000p and left for 20 mins to cure before buffing. The exterior glass was then cleaned using my RV glass cloths and megs glass cleaner. The interior was next, fully hoovered and then all the plastics cleaned using g101 and a mf and the leather also cleaned using a leather brush and weak g101 then conditioned using sonus. All interior glass then cleaned then the plastics dressed. Last touches were dressing all the tyres and arches using autosmart highstyle and all plastics also dressed. Now the finished results. Before: After: Before: After: Total time taken was 6 hrs, the clients was very happy and wants me back to do his wife's mini soon too. Thanks for reading and all comments welcome as usual. Paul
  22. Thanks for the comments guys, This has got to be my most challenging detail yet, not only the defects were so bad but the paint was so sticky and a real battle all the time and to top it off I was battling with the weather too. Paul
  23. Right chaps I thought i'd start my write up now at the end of day 2 :doublesho Firstly the car was booked in for a full paint correction, engine bay and interior details also, when I went to quote the car I was aware of swirling and a few light scratches but now 6 wks on :censored: Here's how she was looking when it was dropped off yesterday morning. Firstly the worst job I had to try and tackle the wheels, looks like the inners have NEVER been cleaned on the car and also looks like a few track days have been participated in also due to the state of them. I firstly soaked them in strong AS Smart wheels and left for 5 mins before agitating with a selection of brushes, this hardly even touched them so out came the jack and the wheels were taken off 1 at a time, I used a strong acid free wheel cleaner sprayed on the wheels and left for a couple of mins to start working and then agitated, this was done once then I tried some tardis this removed abit but not a lot. Back to the strong wheel cleaner again and repeated about 3 times on each wheel to get them respectable and 4 hrs later time to start washing the car. Firstly a pre-soak with warm citrus de-greaser sprayed onto the lowers and left for a few mins before rinsing. Next up a snow foam using SSF via the kranzle, this was left to dwell for 6mins then rinsed. Repeated the snow foam process again and the car was filthy and all the rubber seals had mould/moss growing in them and needed cleaner using my swissvax style brushes. Next up I cleaned all the door/boot shuts with apc and swissvax style brush and gave the engine a thorough de-grease using virasol and a selection of brushes. Then back to the exterior, now time for a 2bm wash using dodo b2bm shampoo and a z sponge, this was then rinsed using the DI Vessel. Now for the clay stage, today using Dodo Mild grey clay and LT and lube. Before: After front wing: I used nearly half a block of the dodo clay on this car as it was so contaminated. Now lets see what the real damage is now it clean. I had time to have a quick play and get a good combo ready for tomorrow, started off with megs polishing pad via makita and some megs 83/80 combo, this was giving great correction but not leaving lsp ready so I tried finishing with menz ff on a black 3m glossing pad no joy here and tried a few different pad combos for finishing but seem to keep leaving marks so ended up using the pc and a red elitecarcare finishing pad and 3m ultrafina se this was finishing up lovely and bringing out the red fleck in the paint lovely. That was the end of day 1. Day 2 Started off bad with showers all morning so had a little sort out of the garage and then put half the car in and set up the lamps etc ready to start some more correction work. Heres some more shots of the defects I am faced with: some nice deep RIDS on the top of the bonnet 50/50 Bootlid corrected and finished with ultrafine se some more defects: Spoiler all corrected: Been held up lots today due to the weather and having to keep moving the car around. (SINGLE GARAGES GER ) Tomorrow I need to do the roof both rear doors and then cleanse the paint, glaze and then some supernatural, and drss the engine bay and do the interior plus all the other bits tyres, glass, exhaust etc etc. Total time so far 16 hrs TO BE CONTINUED Right day 3, finish off correction/finishing then apply LSP todays choice was Dodo Purple Haze applied by hand to make sure total coverage. Heres a few more correction shots, also had some nice wet sanding to do to remove a nice scrape down the passenger side rear door. Finished pics only managed a few today as I wanted to get it tucked away in the garage for the night. Exhaust polished using 00 wire wool and megs nxt polish Before: After: Before: After: Will get more pics tomorrow if the suns out when Im back from another job, its not being collected until sat and still got the engine bay to dress and the interior. Another slow day today think I got 5 hrs in total working time the rest was rained off. Engine bay afters:
