  1. Hello guys, hopefully will be getting an upgrade into the world of 19" wheels soon. So need to sell my Rays to raise some funds. So here is a set of 4 18" Rays alloys for sale. Some of you may have read a previous thread of mine about kerbing my rear right wheel the other day, link here:

    viewtopic.php?f=61&t=23726

I have got a quote from BJV Engineering (recommended by members on here - http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/) about getting the wheel repaired, and was quoted £50.

Of the other three wheels, the front left also has some kerb marks, which will be easily refurbed. The final two are in very good condition. Pics are below:

The rear right can be seen on the link to the thread above.

They still have the Bridgestones on. Fronts have about 3mm tread left. Rear right about 5mm and rear left is near limit.

    Looking for £450 ono.

    Thanks for looking.

  2. It basically a freeview box designed to work in the car. I pick up 35 TV channels and around 30 digital radio stations.

I had a good look around uk stores for a decent one that works when on the move and they were all coming in at around £200. I then managed to source the same unit direct from china for £122 delivered. Here's the ebay link for anyone that is interested.

He accepted a best offer of £95. Please note the DHL charged me an extra £14 import tax so that's £136 in total.

thanks for that mate. good to know! your really tempting me now haha

but how do the license work? do i need to pay more tv license fees?

    thanks

  3. following on from my other thread about how i kerbed my right rear wheel today. viewtopic.php?f=61&t=23726 thanks for everybody who posted about this being repairable.

but thought i'd start a new thread about since i will be looking to sell these rays in about 2 months time, should i bother refurbing them? and if not, what sort of price should i be looking for/expecting? as how much i can get for these will influence how much i can spend on my next wheels.

    thanks for your thoughts guys!

  4. Wicked Wheels on Crawley or Lepsons who are Kent/Essex way are very good. Bit of a drive from you though.

+1, they can work wonders and there prices/worj is top notch

I think it will be re-pairable bud, is there any tyre wear?

that's good that it can be repaired, but do you think it is worth getting it repaired if i want to sell the rays in 2 or 3 months time?

dont think there is any tyre wear as the tyres are fine when left in the car park all day and then a 15 mile motorway journey back home. but think i did see something when i got back, will post up pics tomorrow!

but main question is should i get these done if i want to sell them anyway in the near future?

  5. well i can't afford to get new wheels at the moment. so i guess i will just have to drive around with these on for 2 or 3 months. should be ok to drive on though right?

was planning on getting some 19's anyway in the next 2 or 3 months anyway but would've had to rely on selling these rays. but now i guess i wont be able to shift them. that's a proper double whammy!!!!

  6. not a happy bunny today! first had to go to work when i was supposed to be on holiday  and then on the way i did this...................

some useless driver decided that they needed to drive in both lanes rather than just the one like everybody else, so had to avoid him in doing so went a bit too far right and clipped my rear right wheel on the kerb.

    photo2-4.jpg

it looks really bad! and knowing my luck i'm not holding much hope for the answer to the question. can this be repaired or refurbed?

damn work, if only i didnt have to go into work. and thought it would be quick but i'm still bloody here!!!!!:angry::angry:

  7. I had the same trouble when looking for my Torque drifts, quite a few different sites had different images. i'm 99% sure they are gunmetal though mate! What site is the pic from?

cheers, yeh it's definitely hard to tell the different colours. the wheel photo is taken from rarerims. the small one of the zed is one i found on google images but it wouldnt expand so cant see clearly!! very annoying.

  8. am looking to get some new rims very soon. the rota's gtrs are really taking my fancy at the moment. the problem is what colour to get for the black zed. originally the black with red lip i quite liked. but just keep thinking the black is a bit too dull! but still want a dark finish. found a photo on google images but cant seem to get it to expand.

    images.jpg

what colour is that? is it a black or a gunmetal, is it the same colour as the gunmetal that rarerims do? seen these on another american website as well (wheeldude) and they seem to have a colour called hyper black which look very similar, are they the same?

    sml2_200.jpg

rarerims are going to get these in 19s very soon. but they are not sure of choice of colour yet. they will definitely have the black with red lip but really hope they got this colour as well.

  9. I'd rather get the bus than risk £20K worth of car. If you can't afford 2 new tyres (and yes, you need to change both sides at the same time) then can you really afford to run the car? If you think having both rears down to the limit is dodgy, then this is dodgy x infinity.
    +100000000000000

    I'd have to agree :headhurt:

yeh i totally understand what you guys are saying. i've bought the tyre now, but it's peanuts so i just wont fit it.

  10. Just be careful if you do fit that tyre. Running 2 diffrent tyres on the same axle will affect the handling in all weathers!!! Take it really easy and hurry up and save for the proper tyres all round. We don't want another casualty :stretcher:

yeh it's not ideal to have two different tyres on the rear. I will only be doing a relatively straightforward commute of about 5 miles into work everyday and no major trips. literally just need to get myself back up to legal limit asap.

  11. To me thats good value just to get you back to being legal.....

Should of kept this to your self though

that's cool, just trying to tie up the deal now
