  1. Very cool! I personally don't like the temper orange, however once you start putting bits on to them they really start to stand out with a 'wow' factor. :)

You haven't over done it and kept it spot on perfect. You've done yourself proud - very very nice!

(Get some LED rears - they're so much brighter and make the car look newer). ;)

  2. 50 peeps in my dept - only 18 have turned up. Everyone else is either "flexi working from home" (yer right) or away on holiday.

I feel really guilty at times because there are an awful lot of ppl who are out of work yet at the same time people bum about on Fridays. Then again, if no one is coming over asking for work and I am waiting for everyone else to do their bit before I can continue I can't complain - I'm not going to make work for myself especially since there is currently a company "re-org".

  3. I've got horrid neighbours as well next door. I live in a quiet, peaceful end of the road and just over 18 months ago some Chavs turned up (you know the sort - no grass in back yard now, two boxer dogs too big for the house, drum and base music 9am til dark, pug 106 gti with Halford rims all mangled and ripspeed rubbish interior, etc, etc).

I ALWAYS lock my zed up in the garage, even if I pop in the house for 5 mins - their little brat is just as bad (around 6 years old) - answers back saying "wasn't me" and "I didn't do it" for everything. They also deal hard drugs too, but we have no proof of this (a lot of random people knock at the door in the evening and go away 5 mins later, however they rarely ever seem to do a days work but always have cash to pay for 50" Plasma's and new Kitchens, etc, etc).

They make everyone around feel very uncomfortable and the neighbours all complain about them yet do nothing - however since my family are next door we get the worst treatment from them (i.e. anything reported - loud music, etc) they instantly presume its us. :(

We also don't complain or argue to them incase they do something to the zed, house, etc. Basically live in "fear" - its not nice and all 'cos of 1 family. One neighbour woke up to find his Clio has noughts and crosses scraped in - now I wonder what kid did that with his new mates... You don't want to know what I'd do if my zed had that - I'd be in prison afterwards though.

Plus they shout about everything in the garden and in the house and every day an arguement can be heard! grrrrrr!

I also don't appreciate their mates riding up and down the same road on the monkey bikes whilst children are innocently out riding and playing in the street.

  4. I personally think 19" rims are the best size - they fill out the arches without any scrapes and handling remains perfectly fine if your using it normally (other than racing, which I don't know about). You also have to remember that some may require spacers as well to look right.

Again its all down to personal taste and what style you'd like your zed to look - plus your budget.

Tyres - Toyo's, Falkens or Goodyears are all good rubbers. Budget around the £800 mark for all four corners though if you want good quality tyres. :headhurt:

Take a look at others and their wheels in the pics sub-forum.

Oh - and keep the originals for winters and track use if your new ones are expensive and difficult to clean.

  5. Hey BullettMagnet,

Yep - it was the Volks I got from Limiter. :)

I just intend to use normal water and a tiny bit of car shampoo on them when I ever clean them (then dry them off for their constant shine). I've heard about the strong stuff that can eat away the coatings, so being very wary atm.

  6. Thanks for all the kind comments guys. :)

On Friday and Saturday morning it was nice and dry, so hence why it is so clean. Then it hammered down on us whilst on some dual carriage way through Wales, but then dried up really quick (its like patches of heavy bursts).

Up on the mountain part it was basically like driving through a cloud - misty and sticky drizzle (hence why we didn't get too many pics up there).

I even went over some unfinished roads VERY slowly avoiding all the stone chips and letting 70 year olds overtake me in their Skoda's. A lambo came up the other way pretty fast - hopefully he breaked very hard otherwise he would have gone on it with stones all over his car.

All through Saturday night it just rained, so I guess it washed a bit of dirt off - even though it wasn't very dirty at all. It safe to say its back like the first picture now.

I'd be up for the famous Wales run. When is the next one planned?

  7. I think I may have spotted you saturday afternoon around Brecon?

BTW that "hidden road" took me bloody hours to find on saturday

Really?! Hmm...I didn't see you. Were you in your zed? I was around Brecon on Saturday, so must have been me (not many Azure Nismo kitted zeds around).

The "hidden road" is amazing. You turn off on a normal A-Road in a village and suddenly you start climbing up the hill - then once over the cattle grid (slowly) it opens up to some seriously high and impressive views. It was raining, but we were both very impressed and would love to go back on a sunny day.

Were you hooning about at the weekend? Any pics? :)

  8. Hi Folks,

As most of you probably know now I am now the proud owner of NismoDave's old car before he got his Evo (traitor :p ), however since this is one of my dream cars I decided before hand to snap up some rather expensive brand new 19" Volk GTS' from another user on this forum, then forked out for brand new Goodyear F1 tyres for them, then went and brought the car I'd been saving and waiting forever for. Also fitted new LED rears to it. :cloud9:

On my quest to make my ultimate zed (there's a few more tasteful things planned for it), I decided to get those rims on the Nismo kitted zed and planned a weekend away starting at the top of Wales via the Evo Triangle right through to South Wales. All I can say is that the money was definently well worth it - almost every single child on the street was waving and people giving the thumbs up everywhere (plus my paranoia of leaving it anywhere other than my garage at home). Even when I was filling up at the local petrol station before leaving I heard from behind "f^&ing lovely car mate!" and the guy got out his motor and was amazed by it. :yahoo:

All I can say is those of you reading this on a sunny July day - think about what you have to do on the weekend. If its nothing important, seriously go pack a bag and book a couple of nights in a few Holiday Inn's (or B&Bs) and just go - cost me around £130 in fuel + £110 for hotels for two, but was brilliant!

Warning - car porn now follows - here she is: :teeth:

First of all - my new Volk GTS'

Staying at the Holiday Inn on Friday night before heading off to the Evo Triangle:

Evo Triangle (or 'Evil Triangle' as my gf keeps calling it):

    nismozed12.jpg

I thought Evo Triangle was alright - nothing amazingly special. Lots of twists and turns, ups and downs but for me there are much better roads out there. However, at least I can say I done it.

    On the way through Wales:

Heading off down an amazing hidden road in the Black Mountains (B4519) - Its VERY high up and the scenery was amazing, although very wet:

    nismozed6.jpg

We would have got more pics of the zed, but it was soaking wet and with sheep crossing the roads (no fences) - plus the army train up there and says you can't wonder otherwise you'll get shot. :scare:

Coming back and now in South Wales:

    nismozed10.jpg

    nismozed11.jpg

The zed didn't miss a beat - very capable car and I even saw a couple of other zeds on the Triangle - a silver one (stopped with his mates and gave me the thumps up) and an Orange 07 Roadster passing anti clockwise - also gave me the thumbs up with a big grin on your face. Anyone here?

The Goodyear F1's are pricey, but amazing grip. Certainly didn't push it, however felt very safe and plated even when totally hammered with rain. After which, I gave her a big clean and polish and she is back in the garage all super shined up again. :D

  9. Do you want a really scary fact - everytime you Google something it requires the same amount of power to boil a kettle - hence all those lovely super fast Google servers are technically kicking out TONS of CO2.

I will stop driving my zed when China and America stops pumping billions of pollutants out of their factories each year - often making stuff that isn't essential, but will make large sums of money.

  10. Very nice Dave!

Glad to see your cherishing the Evo just as much as you did with 'our' zed. :p

I'm finally getting the Volks with fresh rubber put on the zed on Friday and taking her through Wales this weekend. I'm taking my camera, so look out for posts soon of it.

If I manage to get down to Devon again I shall send you a PM - good opportunity to get some pics of the zed and the Evo together! B)

I've still got some other things planned for the zed (all very tasteful), but like everywhere else there is talks of redundancies where I work so I have to hang on for a couple of months before splashing the cash again.

Rest assured the zed is still fine sleeping in the garage right now. :)

Enjoy the Evo! (I know you will). :yahoo:

  11. +3. The OEM one feels like I am holding the top, whereas the Nismo one feels like I can make use of the short gear change. Its feels nicer and I swear I can change gear more quickly because of it.

You can always take it off if you don't like it. :)

  12. it'll be kids. As ashamed as I am to admit this now, but as a kid we used to take the really nice ones off and they became some sort of collectors things between kids (god knows why, we just did). I remember someone taking a Ferrari's and sold them for £5 each to some other kid at school.

When your younger you just think its a tiny worthless piece of metal stuck on a wheel and someone will replace it for 2p, however as you grow older you realise the shame and expense.

    OR

It could well be that a load of pikey's turned up in their 'banging' Corsa's and Vectra's saying 'init' a lot with baseball caps, noticed you didn't have cheap plastic ones and took them to go one their well 'sick' motor.

  13. so frustrating when people put items up for sale then dissappear!

You can say that again - I've been wanting this for weeks, but never get a response.:surrender:

Edit: Another day has passed, still nothing... :tumbleweed:

  14. I have this with my garage - though I have about 5cm each side of me (for the entrance - it opens wider when I get in so I can get out). I highly recommend putting some foam on the corner of that wall - if you do hit it and going slowly (you should be), you won't scrape your car.

Buy a couple of tubes of this: http://ace.imageg.net/graphics/product_ ... 0543dt.jpg, cut the pipe in half and stick it on that corner. For the sake of spending £10, its worth it.

  15. Unless you have realy deep pockets, don't expect massive power gains. The ECU is rock solid and its difficult to get any substantial power upgrades. You may get the odd 10BHP for different exhaust, but the ECU corrects any mods - if you want silly speeds, your going to be spending thousands on forced induction.

There are LOADS of mods for the zed though. New exhausts, interior and exterior cosmetic changes, new brakes, suspensions - all pretty reasonable considering other vehicles (i.e. a GTR would gobble your wallet up no problem, whereas a zed probably wouldn't for most).

It all depends on what you want you zed to do and your personal taste. Check out some independent traders on here - a good place to start is looking on the adverts on the portal [home] section of the site). :)

Tons of advice here - I'm fairly new myself!

  16. Not sure if this is the right section to post (mods, please move if not).

I saw an episode of Road Wars today (the kind of program you only watch when totally bored out of your brain), however the usual annoying scouse guy says "copper Roy and PC Richards are following a surprising vehicle..." and the video shows them following a red Ferrari 360 down a busy road with it keeping itself in low revs whilst in traffic (hence making lots of noise).

The police chaps were chatting away on film bantering about how great and fast the ferrari is, etc, etc and suddenly it pulls up against a silver 350z. On comes the annoying scouse man again; "however, this Nissan driver feels he is being put to shame so he puts 'is foot down after turning right at the roundabout...".

The ferrari continued straight on, the zed turned right at the round about (after having literally nothing to do with the Ferrari), but went fast since it was a totally clear and straight road - nothing dangerous, he was just moving rapidly and slowed down after about 75m down the road (we all do it regardless). Encore the scouse narrator again "...but PC Richards has none of it and pulls the Nissan driver over to show 'im hoose boss..." (hence blue flashing lights, etc, etc).

The next bit totally stunned me; the copper got out his car, opened the zed and spoke to the driver and asked him how fast he went versus the road limit (little harsh since no one was about, however in the eyes of plod this was breaking the law for 5 seconds). After concluding he went around 45mph on a 30mph road he then said in a sarcastic way to the zed driver "just 'cos theres a much better and faster car than your poxy Nissan and the Ferrari dented your pride, doesn't mean you can go and prove a point now does it mate?". He just gave him a verbal, saying keep speed down, etc - fair enough.

However, when got back into the car he starts ranting on about how he told him whats what etc etc. The point I am stunned about is why some Police do this? They complain about having to keep stopping silly incidents and could be getting on with their job "sorting proper criminals out", but they obviously wanted an ego boost and throw some power around to show them they are boss. The poor zed driver cooperated fully and only went fast for about 5 seconds in a straight line on an empty road - it really annoys me that some coppers like going on these random ego "im the law your not" trips. I'm 100% sure if the Ferrari done it they'd be like "ahhh, listen to that its amazing" (unless he really went crazy speed).

I just felt really sorry for the zed driver - he clearly wasnt showing off or doing anything dangerous and clearly slowed down later on down the road. Has anyone from here had a similar situation with plod?:headhurt:
