  1. Thanks for the link Kev. Sounds good on the 350z. How do you find it sitting at a steady 30 or 70 mph? Is there a constant drone or does it settle when not being rev'ed?
  2. Thanks for all the replies. The stillen at the moment does seem to be my first choice. The reviews and performance seem to be what I'm looking for. Saying that, the Akrapovic and the above HKS do look good. Can find as much information on these as the stillens though. Must dig deeper. Not sure if I was going to go for the intakes but if I'm fortunate to get them for free then thats a whole different story. That HKS is a work of art. Did you get it from a UK supplier or did you have to import? Do you have any recordings of how it sounds?
  3. Never heard this before. Lowered my 350z roadster roof many times below this temperature and have done the same with 370z. If this was the case I would never get the roof down up here in sunny Scotland. It may be a case for the 370z as it has a hydraulic operated roof rather than the electric operated 350z.
  4. Hi, Looking for some advice. I'm wanting to upgrade from the stock exhaust and was wondering what everyone recommends. The result I am looking for is a better audible response when accellerating but I'm not wanting to the constant drone while maintaining a steady speed. I have noticed that quite a few people on here have gone with the stillen and reading through the comments it sound like this one could be the one but I want to consider all the options and opinions. Also, is there somewhere in Scotland I can get this all done or am I better arranging for the exhuast imported (if required) myself and then arranging fitting. Any help, thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.
  5. Thanks G. After testing both manual and auto I wasnt too bothered which one I went for. The decider came down to no white roadsters on the nissan system which meant a minimum of 3 months wait (also was told that they might not be doing any more whites, don't know how true this is!). Found a white roadster in birmingham that was an auto. Had been interested in the auto so this just sealed the deal.
  6. Thanks for the comments. I will get more pics posted up. Was sad to see the old 350z go but quickly got over that when I sat inside the new one. I was tempted to get it in the twilight grey again as I did love it in that colour but felt that it wasnt enough of a change for getting a new car. Only other colour I wanted was in white. That's why I had to do the long trip to get it. This might have been the one you saw Carlton as I got this from Stockfield Road.
  7. Finally bit the bullet and traded my 350z roadster in for a 370z roadster. My 350z GT manual Roadster My New 370z GT auto Roadster Test drove both manual and auto as well as roadster and coupe before committing to the auto roadster. Only down side was I had a 600 mile round trip to pick up car from Birmingham. Have to say that I wasnt looking forward to the drive in the 350z as I thought the ride and seats would have been uncomfortable over the long distance but have to say that I never suffered and problems on the trip down. Definite improvement on the mpg. Got 25.4 mpg on the way down in the 350z and got 28.8 mpg on the way back with the 370z. I am told that the mpg should improve further once the engine is run in. The auto box is taking a bit of getting used to but have to say I am enjoying it. Changes gears smoothly and effortlessly at speed and isn't to bad around town either. Definitely paid for itself when I was stuck in the traffic on the M6 on the way back. There is also a significant reduction in road noise between the 350z roadster to the 370z roadster. The lined rood certainly helps and looks so much better. Other upgrades/improvements include the climate controlled seats which heat up the back as well as the seat (only heated seat in 350z), Sat Nav is an improvement on the old system (now includes speed cameras and tells you what speed which is helpful), bluetooth as standard is handy but have to say its not as good as the parrot kit I had fitted in the 350z and the ipod connection is a handy for the iphone. Gave it its first wash, clay and wax today. Going to try and give it another good coat of wax before the crap weather kicks in.

  20. I wouldn't say that I'm 100% happy. Maybe 98%. It is far better than what it was. The only problem I get now, and I am told that its a common problem with this gearbox, is that it is stiff to get into 2nd gear when the engine is cold. I was told that they could adjust this but then it could cause problems when the engine is hot. The stiffness into 2nd when cold isnt too much of a problem, hence the 98%, as it does go away when hot. HTH
  21. Car has been delivered to the garage and inspector is going to look at it this afternoon.
  22. Hi, Had my car in for a service on Wed in a well known Nissan dealer. Had booked a hotel at Loch Rannoch on sat night for a anniversary weekend away with my partner. On the road to the hotel I heard a noise coming from the engine bay, the steering died and the battery light came on on the dash. Luckily we were on a straight bit of road at a caravan park and managed to park up in the parking bay. After inspecting the engine could see that the auxiliary drive belt had totally shredded itself. Surely this shouldnt happen 2 days after a service. Especially when one of the checks on the service is checking all drive belts. The car is only 2 years old and 14000 miles on the clock. The car is getting delivered via AA back to garage today and I have arranged for a independant inspector to look over the car before the garage is allowed to work on the car. This is a scary thing for me as the roads we were on were narrow and had sheer drops to the side. If this had happened on a sharp corner I might not have been here to type this message. Anyone got any thoughts or advice for me before speaking to the garage?
