  1. Hi guys has anyone got a diagram of the cylinder head layout? Just checking my coil packs but don't think the number sequence is correct? If wrong plugs are connected to wrong coil pack will have an effect? I no silly question but good at mechanics but I like to have a go at things before I go to any garage do I'm not stung lol

  2. Hi Mike 350

I too have this problem, changed Crank Position Sensor and ABS Sensor light still on and driving like crap, did you manage to sort out yours? What was the fix? Im due to change my Flywheel in the next couple of days

  3. Any info needed! I did mention something to my garage about this and he seemed mythed: He said once the bolt holes line up and the lil pin (locater) thing then there should be no trouble, the flywheel can only go back on one way and cannot be wrong?? but i think this is untrue after reading a few threads about the ECU or CP Sensor being out of sync with the flywheel rev count and not allowing the right fuel mixture to be processed or something along them lines. After extensive research and trial and error i now think this is my problem! Not Spark plugs, Not CP Sensor, Not ECU but infact the sync with my ECU/CP Sensor and Flywheel after my Engine install!! Right how does one get all this to marry up or sync? its done manually somehow? is this on a Diag machine at the dealer please help any info muchly appreciated

  4. Me again,

Due to have my new lightweight Flywheel installed on monday or tuesday! is there any hidden things i need to look out for before install?

I have read something about adjusting the CPS with the flywheel how is this done?

Also Crank timing or alignment? Surely all the holes will line up for the bolts and the lil pin is there anything else that can go amiss? cheers

  5. Update: I managed to test the 3 coil pack plugs on the driverside, real easy to get to. No problems on that side car started to run like crap whilst slowly disconnecting the plug. However the passengerside is a nightmare!!! In the end I had to disconnect the induction pipe??? Which then left the car unable to start lool..... :teeth: I'm going to have do it the long way round by disconnecting the induction pipe for clearance to the plugs, disconnect the plug and re-attach the induction pipe again then see ow she runs. Do this for the other 3 coil packs on pass side. Does this make sense?

  6. Cheers Dave,

I will have a stab at this when i finish work today! doesnt sound too complicated even i can check this lol........

I would love to bring my car down to you but im in Birmingham and dont want to risk driving the car down on the motorway!

I will see how i go with the various little checks first but cheers for all your info much appreciated guys

  7. Cheers Dave and Tricky

I will Have a look at the coilpack for cylinder 5 check sparkplug and connector. Yes i believe i am referring to a cam sensor not too clued up these things :p

Dave these are exactly my symptoms! Doing my nut in! ABS Traction lights! slow and underpowered! missfire feel. Did it also throw code P0335 Crank Position Sensor (mine changed still not cured, so it cant be the CPS but something triggering the code?)

What will i be looking for when checking coil packs and how to test?

  8. Right to my knowledge, there are 4 main Sensors in the Engine?

2 in the front Green and Blue what look after the VVTI timing

1 Crank Position Sensor, Near Gearbox and Engine join?

and the other i believe is the Crank Angle Sensor? is this located just under the throttle body? what does this control? If faulty can it trigger off a P0335 Crank postion code? Is this sensor the same as a Crank Postion Sensor?

  9. Another quickie!!

Did Nissan ever change the flywheels over the years with the 3 different type engines:

    280bhp normal DE

300bhp Rev up DE (my model)

    313bhp HR

As I got a quote for £180 for a Single Mass but was told it will fit only up to 2005 but mine is a 2007 stuck in the back of the warehouse NON HR??? Here we go :bang:

  10. Short version of my problems! car had a damaged engine to start! bottom end damage! drive like Shi$ and no codes or engine light. fitted stage 1or2 clutch and replaced the engine! once fitted we got the Engine light and ABS traction lights, hooked it up to a diagnostic machine Snap on tools model. Showing 2 faults P0335 Crank Position Circuit malfunction and driverside right ABS sensor open or short. now the weird part.....Changed both sensors ABS and Crank Position sensor(Nissan Dealer) lights remain, booked into nissan dealer they had the same issue as me! Old Crank Sensor faulty no problems with starting just underpowered, drinking fuel and engine light, but we fitted the new CPS the car wouldnt start? Cranking but no fire up? Fit old CPS and stated up fine? Nissan tried my so called faulty CPS sensor and new one on to a Z they had and they both worked on the vehicle?? so this means the Sensors are in fact still working and it must be something else at fault! They did say they had a little trouble communicating to my car...... ECU??? Maybe.......So hear I am thinking to replace the Flywheel first if no go must be ECU???

  11. Hi Tricky, thanks for the info mate was wondering for a minute that i had installed the wrong engine! thus ECU and Engine not compatible sending out wrong readings? but on inspection I do have the Rev up engine! two Cams with Green and Blue Sensors and what i would call HR Giger inspired detailing on the cam covers, compared to the smooter looking non rev up! one less thing to worry about now, now to find my what my fault is Cheers.

  12. would it make the car run like crap? and trigger off error codes similar to what im experiencing? as my engine was replaced, replacement Engine was out of the car so didnt see the model of car. But was told it came out a 2007 Roadster revup engine. Clearly not a HR as it doesnt have the dual induction. How can I tell if its a Japo Engine or infact a Revup? is there any visual things too look out for cheers

  13. Yeah battery is fairly new!

Flywheel looks fine with no uneven surfaces, but does have a little wiggle (play) we noticed this when fitting the clutch back to the flywheel once it was back on the engine. We were using a pressure torq gun, not sure if this is normal?
