  1. An interesting thing I did find mind, is when I have my OBDII hooked up and pedal flat to the floor, it only ever says 88% throttle. Think I'm being robbed of 12% throttle somewhere :blush:

I wonder if that is proof of the Z dialling out mods... I've got an ODBII cable what program you using?

  2. Just put the car in for a service today and asked if they do 4 wheel alignment, unfortunately no joy they don't. I've rung round the ones in yellow pages and they only adjust the fronts. The nissan service manager did say something about a place near brands hatch which does it, anyone of anywhere in the area?

    Cheers.

  3. My Golf's 0-60 in a lengthy 8 secs is obviously a lot slower but I think the turbo and mid range torque makes it 'feel' faster.

I think that comment hit the nail on the head - its why lots of people 'enjoy the newer turboed cars because there is a much bigger feeling when you drive them hard.

In the 350z its smoother so you don't think your going as fast.

I know what your saying, comes in a big dollop of power... everything feels very rushed and then disappears rather quickly. An old work colleague had a golf TDI and chipped with one of those ODBII plug in's. Had way too much torque in such a tight power band, the stock wheels just couldn't handle it.

  4. Yes it is using the OBDII port, I don't know how accurate it is... I'm guessing it is not going to be bang on the money but close :)

I've haven't tried the dyno, I've added in the drag coeff, tire size and vehicle weight... the weight is just the manufactures guide though i'm sure the gt pack must add a bit... electric seat motors aren't going to be light. Should give a baseline though should I add any mods.

  5. Just been messing about with this proscan software... yeah really should be working but you know what it's like :D

Didn't run her that hard, dropped the clutch at about 2,000rpm and changed just over 6k. (temp 16 degrees and about an 1/8th fuel in the tank) I was surprised at the time, was expecting to see 6 something. Didn't have enough distance to do the rest so i'd thought it best to mask them out.

  6. It's great stuff, unlike the halfords one which make the leather feel plastic and glossy... this stuff makes it feel soft and smell like new leather :)

I read somewhere that if you mix the conditioner with shoe polish it helps colour in scuffs and locks in the colour... haven't tried it yet but i'm thinking about as the bolster is taking a bit of a bashing.

  7. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this, I've had the car a couple of weeks now and starting to get to get a feel for it.

I've noticed that 1st to 2nd is a little notchy... 5th to 6th at speed can feel a bit notchy too... It's not crunching so i don't think the syncros are shot, just giving a little more resistance that i expected if you know what i mean. The odd thing is, if i have given the car some beans on a good drive the gearbox is smooth through all gears...

Do you think a gearbox oil change will help? or is this all completely normal :)

    Cheers

  8. Megs Quik Clay (lots of rubbish came off)

Skipped the Megs step one paint cleaner...

Megs step two polish, gave it very little time on the car as last time I remember if it is given anything more than a two mins on the car it is a pain to shift off. This bit got the car looking nice and wet.

I was in two minds at this point to go with the NXT 2.0 wax, though it is more glossy (IMHO) I opted for the Megs step three carnauba wax as I wanted a bit of staying power (NXT doesn't last that long).

I'm pleased with the overall result, though I really need some tips on polishing the bonnet... I always find wax and polish tougher to remove (bonnet was stone cold and heavily clayed) Also i'm not sure if this is the best wax for a dark colour, could just be me, the weather is a bit rubbish...
